who else has been sent endless lib dem leaflets and letters through the letterbox? i've received 23 in the past week and a half. and they're all leaflets i've already been sent 4 or 5 times before.
i contacted the lib dems last week to ask them if there was a postal mistake and to ask them to stop sending me stuff. they said there was no mistake but that they would stop. since then there's been another 5 glossy one-sided leaflets and 4 letters. it's outrageous, they claim to be concerned with environmental issues and nature yet they're using paper indiscriminately for their own political gains

It's not so much greed that the world's resources are being depleted, as the fact that humans have become too successful. There ae far too many of us. One thing that can help us is contraception. The people who still have 8,9,10 kids are being greedy- there's no justifying this many offspring when the world's resources are becoming scarcer.
I think it's not just a debate over whether resources are running out. There is an energy security issue here, as of course we have to prop up tyrants to run our cars and homes. So the Green message makes sense not only from an enviromental but economic and moral standpoint.

Greens want to see a world where all can afford energy and dependence on oil will not do.
Of course, community is important but the Greens want a society where individuals can make the most of themselves. Greens are not "anti-technology". This is an outdated concept of the Green movement. Greens embrace technology in energy but also IT.
This technology is seen as part of the solution to dealing with and halting climate change. It is those on the right who want to shy away from the facts and, to quote Sarah Palin "Drill, baby, drill!".

I do not understand how they can argue they care about the economy when they are willing to scrap the massive nuclear power station proposal, which provides the only realistic solution to the forthcoming energy crisis, slowly get rid of nuclear jobs and pour billions into experimental "renewable" resources.
As small minded as I know it sounds there are bigger problems than the ones they target and I consider it rather ignorant of voters to overlook the clear problems in their manifesto.

Nuclear power is heavily reliant on fossil fuels for processing and disposal. The half-life of a lot of the low-grade material produced can exceed 100,000 years. Obviously there are no institutions that have even lasted a significant fraction of this time. Improving energy efficiency and using multiple sources is important and yet this issue hasn't been well addressed by govenment.
I went to vote Green today after work but I wasn't on the register at my local polling station. I phoned town hall and they explained that they hadn't received my register slip. I posted it 5 weeks ago so it must have been lost in the post. I feel awful, I was proud to go and vote and make a difference.

It lets focus on what matters to you, make you wealthy, and with that wealth you can then put your money where your mouth is. That is the purpose of capitalism. I'm voting Liberal Democrat but I support the green cause. I'm a LibDem through and through, but I agree with Greens on practically everything. I like the Green Party but I think 'why should I vote for these when their national rival, the LibDems are almost exactly the same'. I'd like to see the two parties merge. It's not so much greed that the world's resources are being depleted, as the fact that humans have become too successful. There ae far too many of us. One thing that can help us is contraception. The people who still have 8,9,10 kids are being greedy- there's no justifying this many offspring when the world's resources are becoming scarcer.

You can build upward to preserve greenland, with an emphasis on good public transit systems to reduce dependence on automobiles. Look to Germany for alternatives to nuclear energy. Finally, making room for immigrants who are already living here doesn't mean you can't regulate future immigration to preserve the nation's economy/identity, or whatever.

First off, this is not the Australian Green Party. If you have a grievance with them I suggest you take it up with them.
Greens are not "anti-business" infact the Greens are fiercely pro-small businesses. This is why the party are against mass take-over of our cities and towns by large supermarkets that kill off competition, the backbone of a fair and FREE economy.

Oh yes and it is the soaring price of Oil and Gas that see energy prices go up. Greens point out that this will only continue and seek to tackle problems such as energy security (we get almost all our Gas from Russia), energy poverty and climate change together by introducing clean and cheap alternatives (wind power, incentives for individual households to create their own energy, hydro-electricity etc.). Greens want to see a world where all can afford energy and dependence on oil will not do.

I dont realy agree with you, the Greens are a viable choice but for me to go along with them they need to sort out there imigration police then I'd vote for them. Till then I'll keep voting BNP as a protest,.

I do not understand how they can argue they care about the economy when they are willing to scrap the massive nuclear power station proposal, which provides the only realistic solution to the forthcoming energy crisis, slowly get rid of nuclear jobs and pour billions into experimental "renewable" resources.
As small minded as I know it sounds there are bigger problems than the ones they target and I consider it rather ignorant of voters to overlook the clear problems in their manifesto.

Whereas I agree that energy security is an important issue. I have a counter perspective to your response.
Nuclear power is heavily reliant on fossil fuels for processing and disposal. The half-life of a lot of the low-grade material produced can exceed 100,000 years. Obviously there are no institutions that have even lasted a significant fraction of this time. Improving energy efficiency and using multiple sources is important and yet this issue hasn't been well addressed by govenment.

I went to vote Green today after work but I wasn't on the register at my local polling station. I phoned town hall and they explained that they hadn't received my register slip. I posted it 5 weeks ago so it must have been lost in the post. I feel awful, I was proud to go and vote and make a difference.
