  • nice vid

  • Only one frase.... My precious!!!

  • only Mr. freeze can understand him.

  • This is my favourite song

  • you are lost... you can never go home... you can never go home...

  • 0:38:

    Nice veiw

  • this song is so touching !

  • taters? WHAT'S TATERS, EH????

  • we wants it the hobbits stole it from us

  • Lord of the Rings is my life, as well... maybe that's why this song always stricks so deep...

  • the balled of gollum

  • thelotrismylife

  • she has such an amazing voice....

  • Ravages of the ring...

  • We can all be Gollum if we go down the wrong path.

  • Lol, I see a lot of people saying not to pity Gollum. Yet it was Gandalf in the book that urged Frodo to pity Gollum.

    Why?

"He still has a part to play"

If Frodo never took pity on Gollum and killed him when he had the chance then the Ring would never have been destroyed since at the end of the book Frodo is consumed himself by the ring and cannot throw it away. A book is a writer's universe, and Tolkein has the inclination to have the most insignificant characters make the biggest change

  • 0:55 moshpit gollum

  • i know i should not pity golem, but his story is without a doubt, a sad one, beyond his control... though... he was beyond redemption, he could not go back...

it was better death than a life of mental torture and longing....

  • Nice video Even tho i'm glad he died

  • Nice video

  • Gollum is the absolute personification of the person unable or unwilling to make the distinction between right and wrong. He IS Freud's "id." He allows the worse aspects to take hold of him, swept away by the excitement and the danger inherent. He is all that is base and low.

He is not to be pitied, or held up as a martyr. He is abjectly a prisoner of his own deceipt.

He is the absolute "Me!", beyond redemption.

Anyone who knew Tolkein, his thought and and his works, would know this.

  • @phillipapadopoulable I agree THey should have killed him

  • @phillipapadopoulable If you're going to bring up the indisputable genius that is Freud, why don't we approach them from another school of psychology, behaviorism? Gollum's actions are learned through experience. He has a sense of right and wrong---why else would he flee from society in shame after the ring made him kill Deagol by amplifying his aggression and desire for the ring? The problem is that whenever he acts altruistically he gets fucked over. Acting selfishly allows him to survive.

  • I totally thought this was Björk when I first heard it.

  • By the way... 2.110 smeagols 67 gollums now

  • sad little creature that is always misunderstood. Once a good hobbit, poisoned by the might of the ring. I like smeagol, and I like the fantastic version of this creature in the movie. As I was a child, I imagined gollum very similiar with the movie and I'm sure I was not the only one. Gollum might have his bad side, but deep inside, there is a heart and I'm sure Tolkien just thought the same as he created him

  • Beautiful.

  • For me WoW is life

  • lord of the rings rules allll. there is nothing better than LOTR.

  • Check out my cover of this song on the piano! You'll love it! :)

  • Gollum was gross and he hate orcs.

  • @altarush I meant he eat orcs

  • I gotta say, Gollum is a freaky lil bugger that I dont like very much. But the song is awesome! XD

  • Excellent, moving video!

  • poor gollum

  • its so sad but i like it

    :D

  • 65 persons are stupid fat hobbits

  • whats the name of the soundtrack at 4:18 ?

  • @AndyCapslock I think it is The king of golden hall

  • This song makes me sad

  • I love the scene at the end of the two towers where the camera moves up over the trees and mountains and you get to see mordor, i was like o_o uh oh! this song goes great with it

  • best part 0:36 - 3:34

  • 2012 thumb ftw.

  • @nereidjenkins I just saw the film about the story of dorian gray. How the painting gave him unatural long life and kept him alive. Weird that this theme is probably prevalant in many stories. Maybe it's some classical greek thing from greek mythology?

  • Quite nice song, though...

  • He didn´t sing at all. I´m disappointed now!

  • Check out my cover of this song on the piano!! You'll love it! :)

  • For me Lord of the Rings is life.

  • lol assine gweah ah ah deathmath no ou yes? ah ah

  • beautiful song, but rly sad :(

  • @Jopunkt I got excited then... But alas... It still says "Embedding disabled by request" Coment back again & Let me know if you ever manage to do it. Thanks!

  • @markmoorman ooh... not my fault... couldn't even remember when i had disabled it... so and now i've noticed why it didn't save my changes some hours ago: Cannot enable embedding due to a content claim on this video.

  • @Jopunkt Ahhh I see... Well thanks for taking the time to try & for getting back to me. Appreciated. :)

  • This is a great video! I wish you had allowed for embedding to be enabled...

  • wuts sad is that in the second movie he was on the road to recovery, but one act of seeming betrayal sent him into a pit of lava.

  • ..

    ...

    ....

    .....

  • 64 Gollums don't like this song...

  • This was not nominated for Best Original Song.

    F_ck the Academy >:(

  • Andy was good. Very good. A shame he was not in the running for an award, but his work will live for a very long time. A very long time.

  • Sadder than sad. But Gollum should be very old considering his aging once he lost the ring. But Peter and Fran were brilliant.

  • i was gettin nightmares off this song and i was awake while they were taking place

  • i feel bad for gollum : /

  • exellent music, exellent voice...exellent archetype

so thanks to jrr tolkien and emiliana torrini

  • This is almost sadder than "Learn to be lonely," in The Phantom of the Opera.

  • watching the part of how he killed his best friend made me dream that i killed my mother good god that made me feel scared as hell i would never do something like that

  • @otis22221 that's awful :((( also it was his brother if i remember right, ALL THE MORE SAD!!

  • The story of Gollum makes me sad. In the end he just could not fight the temptation. I think we are all Gollum's. We cant fight our inner demons. Sigh

  • @supernaturalharry We can't fight our inner demons /alone/. We can help each other, and heck, anything's possible with God(:

  • fuck this is such a good story

  • The fellowship of the ring: when the antichrist system takes over

The Two Towers: 9/11 attacks when the war of good and evil starts. Good wins the battle no matter how hard evil tries (America losing the war in Afghanistan)

The return of The King: The return of the true messiah Jesus PBUH where good triumphs over evil and evil is banished

  • gollum tut mir leid

  • @Schinkensoldier Mir auch :O

  • ah golum

  • i still dont get his split personality

  • I love that precious little bastard...

  • Poor Gollum

    He deserves to life !

  • 1,912 smeagols 62 gollums

  • @asomon1 but i like to call them sleangker and stinker

  • Me preciooooous!!

  • Gollum is nice and sweet minuce the trying to kill u part thumbs up if u agree

  • I like this vid!

It's such a good arrangment, i.e. the sequence with frodo at the forbidden pool at the words "no loyal friend ..." And you put in subs! Realy, you did some very good work!

  • There's only one film i'm looking foward to.........The hobbit !

  • Comment removed

  • @Vipnonyarg Tolkien doesn't disguised everything..It's not about the money...It's only a film,idiot!

  • @Hpeti1 since its a fil its considered to be art and i think that if you see a painting you like youre gonna ike it because of what youu see in it , what it represents toy yourself, not gonna go find the paintor see if what he wanted to paint is what you like

  • Gollum's madness makes sense now that I hear this.

  • fascinating music!

  • @Pokenerd320 Screw them dude. I've just read the trilogy and most of the reading I did is at school, not paying attention to anyway stupid classes. Everyone were like LOL lotr blahblah, screw them, Trilogy is AWESOME. Im looking forward to find The Silmarillion soon. And I agree that HP is one of the best fantasy series out there !

  • That was very, very well done! I enjoyed that as much as I felt the impact of each theme in relation to the lyrics. Visually and emotionally moving! Thank you. :-)

  • I love how there's so many stories within the main story of Lord of the Rings... there's always so much going on

  • Who votes Andy Serkis should play Gollum in The Hobbit?

  • @TheCobaltZebra Don't worry, he IS reprising his role as Gollum in The Hobbit movie. No need for public petition :)

  • @AZnavarro99 : You mixed up looking old and dying. Gollum already looks like he's 600 ! Being the carrier of the Ring extended his life, as it extended Bilbo's life. So no, he shouldn't have died. Bilbo doesn't die after giving the ring. For all we know, he maybe never dies.

  • the end is not about dieing happy thou, it's about realizing yourself, and acting upon it. Gollum didnt realize the rings might on his mind untill the lava absolves him. But it saves frodo from going down with the ring, but still the expirience has changed him like it changed gollum, and therefore he has to leave the world he knows, for grey havens. very much like life itself: if you fuck it up, you might never return to the state, as when you where truly happy

  • This song is so tragic :(

  • @nereidjenkins That's what i thought too

  • It really describes how I feel sometimes! I just love the song.

  • Daumen hoch wer ohne Herr der Ringe nicht mehr leben kann

  • @AZnavarro99 His determination to live to have the ring as his own once again kept him alive. i believe anyways..

  • After a lot of careful thought , I have to come to realize Gollum / Smeagol was the true hero in the Lord of The rings saga . Yes, he was a murderer . Isildur could not be persuaded to throw the ring into the molten lava of Mount Doom . Frodo claimed the ring as his own when he had the same opportunity to destroy it . If Gollum had not liberated the ring from frodo`s finger the ring would not have been destroyed .Gollum got the ring into the lava. Whether intentionally , or not .

  • @z1chuckster of course Gollum was the reason that the ring was destroyed, but this doesn't make him a hero. He didn't throw the ring into the fire, but he FELL accidentally.. so sure, without gollum Middle Earth wouldn't have been saved but didn't Gandalf say something like "Gollum still has a role to play"? BUt this makes him a means to an end and not a hero - but I personally like him ^^

  • Gollum, because of you the ring was destroyed. Many people might not thank you for but I do. You may have had an ill purpose but in the end it backfired unintentionally saving all of Middle-Earth. "Even the smallest of us can change the course of the future." - Galadriel

    Thank you Gollum/Smeagol!!! =)

  • my tears are falling...

  • @AZnavarro99 : Gollum had the Ring for 500 years (listen to Galadriel's prologue in FOTR) so the effect on him was much "deeper" than it was on Bilbo who had it only 60 years. So the effects would have taken much longer to ware off and cause him to age. That's my interpretation anyway

  • he have this ring more as 300 jears and i murded his broder for this, was he good or bad

  • Gollum is such a sad character yet, he brings a bit of comic relief to the movie in some parts....

  • great movie,great soundtrack,great track,great voice,great lyrics...great

  • How did Gollum come too look like that while having the ring and bilbo didn't?

  • @WrathMuffin For one thing Gollum had it way longer than Bilbo and he lived under the Misty Mountains for most of his life and that had to have an effect on his appearance.

  • @GoyleTheGargoyle I know but the ring brings immortality to age, so how did Gollum not stay what he looked like when he first got the ring?

  • Has no one realised that it was gollum who saved middle earth? After all Frodo was walking away when Gollum attacked him and ultimately fell in the fire of mt.doom with the ring...

  • @ParodyManXD Actually it was the pity of Bilbo that saved middle earth. :)

  • @macdaecant

And that means that every single act of kindness can get masive consequences in the long round!

  • hard to believe this woman did "jungle drum".

everyone should read the book, then judge about the character. in the books, his suffering is much more obvious.

i hate when people make fun of gollum.

    thumbs up for this video!

  • Cold be hand and heart and bone,

Cold be travellers far from home.

They do not SEE what lies ahead,

When sun has failed and moon is dead!

  • The cold hard lands, they bites our hands,

    They gnaws our feet...

The rocks and stones, is like old bones,

    All bare of meat...

But stream and pool, is nice and cool,

    So good for feet!

    And now we wish --

what does we wish, my precious?

  • NAUGHTY NAUGHTY FLY

    WHY DOES IT CRY?

    CAUGHT IN A WEB

    SOON YOU'LL BE

    ...EATEN.

  • @xGlennGJx I cry because "Eaten" doesn't rhyme with "die." =(

  • mmm,Emiliana Torrini

  • This is like one of my favorite songs in the whole movie. It's so beautiful and sad

  • Ensorcelant... <3

  • Which font did you use for the vid?

  • @OpheliasCreed x7597x

  • For the first time, I pity smeagol

  • Most people in my school have never seen The Lord of the Rings I am ashamed to even go there

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy ~No shit?! Dude, my Daddy had the original paperbacks for Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, etc. so he introduced me to these great works when I was about 5 years old! You can imagine how fucking ecstatic I was when The Lord Of The Rings trilogy was turned into such a kick-ass movie! kids today........but at least you're not a dumbfuck like these asswipes at your school, you're better than them. Hang tough, keep your chin up and always stay true to yourself!

  • @G8RGirl1984 I don't see how people could go in to a shop see the film and books on sale and not want to buy them. One of my friends mum has buys every anniversary version of LOTR.

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy

    so in my school

  • @TheRafalis What is this world coming to?

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy

    nothing good badly

    only avatar, transformers and so

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy

nothing good only shitty film like avatar and transformers

and for epic music just make you a save of LOTR soundtrack

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy ... wow. now it's the whole "bella loves edward" stuff, isn't it? Heh, hard not to feel old... but this stuff is a masterpiece.

  • @YourDarkAccomplice true true

  • @DrLeonardBonesMcCoy Oh My God, I feel Your Pain everyone at My School says it's Stupid because it's OLD. Damn, I hate them. Quite Possibly the Greatest (If Not the Greatest) fantasy Series of All Time.

  • @MatauReviews In my school it's all about Rap Music or being an Emo. People say to me that LOTR is shit I just say The Peter Jackson films are one of the most expensive movies ever made, It's one of the most known titles, it inspired Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson to creat the D&D world and it has a very large fan base.

  • Beautifully done

  • irgentwie ist mir der gollum total sympathisch :)

    ich liebe dich gollum !

    AUF DIE GOLLUMS ! ♥

  • I love this song. It's the second Lord of the Rings song I learned to play on piano.

  • @spongebobsmokes, Frodo is not immortal. He is allowed to travel to the Western Isles in order to heal, but he does die. Tolkein himself cleared that up in some published letters of his: "As for Frodo or other mortals, they could only dwell in Aman for a limited time - whether brief or long. The Valar had neither the power nor the right to confer 'immortality' upon them. Their sojourn was a 'purgatory', but one of peace and healing and they would eventually pass away..."

  • i have to admit this is a pretty sad song but no offense it didn't make me cry not one bit.

  • My dog almost always howls when I listen to this.

  • shit as soon as lyrics came on i started to cry

  • I love this song. It's so sad, but beautiful, showing how people can easily be corrupted by greed and how it can change them and turn them into a monster.

  • She sounds like Björk.

  • This is awesome. Thank you soooooo much. I can't say how touching this is.

  • its crazy.i play and listen to death metal.this song makes me cry everytime i hear.definably my favorite

  • the precious made us doo itt!!! ilovegollum bless him

  • If it wasnt for gollum the ring wouldnt had ever been destroyed and all hope would be gone...but the quest took frodos and gollums life...

  • @MegaMasterbation dude,Frodo didn't die. Once him and the party got back to the Shire,he traveled across the Great Sea to the Western Isles(a place with no conflict where everyone is immortal) with Gandalf and the Elves to live among the Valar(minor gods/angels that rule that land)

  • gollum was spared because he still had a part to tell in this story gandalf .....

  • I think the saddest part in lotr rotk is when gollum dies. this song is SOOOOO sad! I love J.R.R. Tolkein, but he made one mistake. Gollum should have turned good when the ring was destroyed. he could have stilled died, but he should have died good. he is my favorited character in lotr.

  • @dogwhisperer777 I don't agree. The death of Gollum was ineluctable, and at the end the author wanted to point the fact that the ring corrupt everybody until it kill you. Gollum died because of the ring, because of his avidity, because he wanted the ring.

  • @dogwhisperer777 that's the point, he's a tragic character. The fact that you loved him even in his hatred and hunger for the ring shows just how remarkable of a character he is.

Plus all seriousness put aside, everybody else lived pretty much. I think there was only 2 deaths among the good main characters.

  • Don't say Gollum. Gollum is his dark side. His good side is Sméagol, the Stoor. =D "Sméagol, lost in the dark, feeling alone... In the deeps... GOLLUM, GOLLUM! Don't hear Gollum! You're Sméagol, the Stoor... The one who guided Sam and Frodo in the Moor..."

  • @FelipeHermod To me, one of the most important lines in lotr is when he says "smeagol lied". Cause he's using his own name. Like even his "good" side, is willing to kill for the ring. :( Tough I think he's more complex than just having a good and a bad side...

  • So what is the font and where can I find it? lol

  • Ah this song was MADE for bjork....the singer did great but you can tell bjork would have done this so well

  • @fishfoodlad that is so true!

  • we have a gollum inside each and everyone of us the trick is to control him............... not always that easy.
