@spanku24me It's quite simple. He laughed at what you pointed out, then said the image will appear in his dreams (he will have nightmares of the image you showed - which is the gay look)
according to some cocktail guides it's albo gibson if you shake it - but like many other cocktails you just won't find out which it truth, but thank you for the reply.
3 parts Bombay Saffire Gin, 1 part dry Vermouth, shakened (that's right) pour into martini glass from freezer, and add two large or three small olives, done, trust me, it's great.
I found that shaken makes the taste a little to sharp. Especially for a smooth gin like Hendrick's. Sapphire is a little more strong but still shaking it I find it makes it harsh.
Allthough it still comes down to the individual on how you want your martini, but if it was me, who were to explain how to make a dry martini, i would say to stir it and if the customer or whomever who's drinking, wants it to be shaken, then i would shake the martini. Second is the thing about the vermouth. That's also up to the drinker to decide. Last is about the proportions. Totally agree with 1HAETJ00.
what a horrible video. no proportions? especially with the vermouth, lots of bartenders just swirl it around the glass and then dump out the rest, just to flavor the glass

again and again!
1. it's not a shaken cocktail, that's a stirred cocktail - what you did has it's own name - Gibson.
2. how about fine straining a cocktail that's served straight up?
3. classic martini is not always served with an olive you serve with a lemon zest as well.

@adelsballen 1. I agree with not shaking... however, that IS a martini glass: just a different style.

Hmmm... no mention of proportions. And the default is to stir: only shake if the customer requests it (or if the customer is James Bond).

un dry martini se hace en vaso mezclador, no en una coctelera.

there are a million different ways to make a martini, but the classic version is 3 parts gin, 1 part vermouth.

This is a fairly useless video. it should be removed or replaced.
this is the cocktail equivalent of saying - "How to make a cake: combine flour, chocolate, egg. cook it. enjoy"

duuuh... how bout some common proportions of vermouth to gin or variations on garnishes? this was pretty much common sense.
