I accidentally did this glitch last night (except it was a harpie when you've already been scaling the walls for a few minutes; somehow got it trapped between a chest and the wall). After getting about 30 bars worth of orbs, my analog stick got stuck and I walked into a bottomless pit. I was pissed.

Alright, I got it to work. There is a trick to get it to work right away. When you kill the Harpy, get ON the ladder DON'T climb it. The Harpy will bounce off your head. It took a lot of trial and error. The second I tried this it worked first time. You might wanna put that in your description. It will help a lot of people.

Thanks - took me a while but got there in the end. I was playing on easy with upgraded blades so I had to use square, R1 to knock it into the ladder and even then it took a couple of goes. This was on the PS3 collectors edition for those interested :)

Great Video man, I just got the GoW collectors edition and already had level 4 blades when getting to this point.... I tried all the combos you said to try and the Harpy kept dying toooo fast, so one time I accidentally did "Rising Helios" L1+Triangle, and it worked XD

If you are playing on easy and have upgraded your primary weapon you can't do it this way, it kills the harpy too soon. I got it to work like this: Get the harpy between you and the ladder, hit R1 (rush) to stun it on the ground. Push it on the ground to the base of the ladder then up the ladder and then use Up+square to kill it while you are on the ladder with the harpy above you.

hell yes finally got the son of a bitch to work after a half hour. IF YOU HAVE LVL 4 BOC equip the sword you use with L1 & R1 (sorry forgot name). do the same block as in the regular trick but once you block its dive use the cyclone attack to knock him up the ladder (wont kill him as easy because your weapon isnt as upgraded) then climb quickly and kill. then sit back and enjoy the orbness.

Hey ya! thanks. I was already on the cliff of madness and only 2 magic wasnt at max so I said what the heck.., and I had to re-play from the very start of Athens level cuz it was the only save b4 that point :) anyway, it took me awhile but I managed using L1+Square, Triangle, but I had to stay on ladder just below that harpy, once I leave it it falls and vanishes. so I had to stay there til I maximized everything I have, thanks. but as you said, it would ruin the fun if u do from 1st time ;o)

I actually did this glitch on accident in a different part of the game. When you're escaping hell, the double spire thing where they are attached and the harpes are coming at you for a bit, if you kill one right over the edge where the spires meet it will get stuck. It's quite a bit harder on this part, but the red orbs are worth more here. its on the section where you have to jump & balance along those spinning poles with the blades on them.

Just did this so much easier, exactly the same however instead of doing Square Square Triangle i simply did with level 3 blades. Square and square and it knocked the bird in the air.

@shiond123 1st thing i don't lie.The video does work and this is based on 9k people in this video here and another 90k in the other video. Now for the "angle" part, if u notice in the video i clearly say that the "save spot" for resets ( "MAKE SURE THE HARPY IS ON THAT RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN") So the harypy spawns close to the ladder.Now if it doesn't work for you, It clearly does not mean that. Is a sham, so just give the video a thumbs down and get on with your life. Thanks for the comment

also after a few tries i found out that you dont really have to use combos...sometimes it just works with normal attacks.

I did it a bit differently. Since I had my blades on level 4 I couldn't do it the way you did. This is what I did: Look towards the ladder and hold L1, when it hits you, press square twice and then R1 and hold the walk button towards the ladder. You'll get on the ladder and that thing will start bouncing up and down.

Took me a long time as well (Easy mode, Blades on lvl 3) I just could not get it to stay on the ladder.. The first square press would only mysteriously warp it behind me or slide it out of the ladder.

Next when it swooped into the ladder I simply spammed Triangle a couple of times and BANG! It goes DOWN it goes UP and there are ze bubblez.

So if the combos isn't working for ya.. Try that a couple of times.

YES! :) Finally! At about 3:25 - If you have lv 3 or 4 blades u can also use Sq, Tri or Sq, R1! It wouldn't fall/stun with one Sq hit, and died with 2, but finally, this advice WORKED! Sweet! .. & many thanks! Sq, R1 did the trick, and somehow a small move down the latter after about 2 min ENDED it, but with Sq, R1 I was able to repeat within about 2 minutes or less! Cheers!

@Viarco9 I had SAME prob, as per my prev comment above (didn't notice yours till after I wrote it) - but you might want to try that too.. Square, then R1 - mainly to stun it to the ground, and then push toward ladder as you hit the R1.. as it pops up and you get on the ladder (since you're pushing that way) it starts.. :)

I remember doing this glitch when I borrowed God Of War off of the girlfriend's brother. I have just bought the whole trilogy on PS3 and thought I'd give it a go.

15 minutes later, the sweet tortured screams of the Harpie are flowing around me.
