  • @swm4ever32 You've never heard of a 2003-04 Cobra motor? Let alone a 2007-current GT500 motor or even a Ford GT motor? Those 4.6/5.4 motors are very stout, many people making 700, 800, 900, 1000rwhp with nothing done to the bottom end. Pretty stout if you ask me. And I believe 767rwhp is pretty impressive no matter the make or model.

  • testing turbo chargers via dyno has some disadvantages...think about it, that big fan in the front of the car doesn't do a good job simulating the air that you would get from driving for efficient suction into the turbos

  • The SS is right at $54,900, the V6 is right at $29,000. The Camaro is barely ahead, every test ive seen or heard has the Camaro 1 Sec or less ahead of the Mustang, and 2-3 ahead of the Challenger

Every magazine that test the 2010 Mustang and Camaro prefers the Mustang, I cant say because Ive only driven and owned is the 2010 Mustang. You get more for your money(why I bought one over the camaro), and the car is only .3-.5 slower than the Camaro. The 2011 gets the new 400+Hp 5.0, or a new 305 Hp V6, and better transsmissions.

  • adamslurch if you knew anything about basic engine theory you'd know there's no replacement for displacement. its not just a saying. you can even the odds by turbocharging a smaller engine and compare it to a naturally aspirated larger engine. but at the end of the day a turbocharged LS3 still makes more power than a turbocharged 13b (my engine). if you like honda's, fine. good for you. but don't try to argue with science because of your personal preference. bigger is better for engines. period

  • yep. someone again tried to say there is a replacement for displacement by comparing a Z06 to an M5 BMW. his point was the M5 made just as much power as the Z06 with 2L less displacement. i told him to look up the torque figures and not just horsepower. and sure enough the Z06 punishes the M5 in terms of torque. also the M5 gets much less mpg since its on a more aggressive tune, injecting more fuel per stroke than the Z06 to get the same power.

Time and time again put the same amount of money into a l98,lt1,ls1 you choose, it will always put down stronger power throughout the band. Now lets me here what you have to say about that, and if you question that then please give me some figures on what it is going to cost to fully build a civic engine then buy a solid turbo set-up and have it tuned precisely so you wont blow the engine when you hit the n2o.Rice ftw

  • NOS is for losers that have to really ability to build their cars. You can build, install and tune a great turbo setup by yourself. That is if you have any idea how. This comes down to personal preference I chose to build and drive Honda's because they get great gas mileage they are cheap to fix and build, and you can get 300,000 miles out of a Japaneses block due to the fact they are with in 1% balanced from the factory unlike American cars 4% at best. I do it to save the money and still win.

  • there is a tourqe curve look at any dyno sheet not as noticeable as hp and most 4 cylinders wont have much of a curve at all more or less 2 spikes within 1000 rpms of eachother and the curve of the tourqe will also depend on your application (N/A and Twin turbo are gonna be tottaly different depending if one is a slave turbo) but I can promise you that looking at my previous dyno sheets there is a slight curve before the spike (Notice the rating "peak tq @ xxxx Rpm"

  • Well it depends why would you need to make a diesel at high rpms and the arguement was "torque doesnt win races" with out torque Hp is not goin to be existent or matter at all your tourque application is most dependent at the dig (take off) and most people rev there engines to get into the powerband and ive seen peak tq levels at 4k rpms so yet once again stop going off what you see every day at your super dyno shop.Hurry up and write back so I can prove you wrong some more

  • why would rpms matter?? because rpms are what dictate how much hp is made out of torque. and your story about people reving to launch in their power band just proves my point because you dont need low end low rpm torque to get you off the line as much if you can launch in your power band, and people dont tell me shit at some dyno shop, stop talkin shit. how come EVERY 1/4 calculator on the net goes off hp not torque? because torque cannot tell you anything about how fast the car will be hp does

  • With out torque Hp is non existent And vice versa..Torque will vary your 1/4 time quite a bit since its from a dig go take something that makes 400 horse and is only making 200 ftlbs of tq and see how fast your 60 foot and 0-60 time is and take a gas powered truck with 1000hp and 700 ftlbs/tq versus a truck with 1000 ft/lbs and 700 horse put a goose neck trailer on both of them with a d-10 dozer send them down the track and see who wins
