I had tears in my eyes as I read this book. It was a compelling indictment of the excesses of the Celtic Tiger era, reminiscent in many ways of Bret Easton Ellis' seminal novel American Psycho,not least for its graphic incest/rape passage which opens the novel and gives the reader but a taste of what is in store. In years to come it will be ranked alongside American Psycho as a book that captured the zeitgeist of the drug fueled hedonism and serial killer fetish that engulfed the nation in 2008.
