Rock music is so diverse and great...but nothing beats good ol' american rock n roll, like Seger, Mellencamp, Skynyrd, etc. Such a great song...really takes me back! Nothing says nostaligia like a Seger song!
@cb777lr hey, I really do not think so it is a reference to going to hell. There is actually a Fire Lake. It is in Canada. Look for it on Google Maps. It is south along County Hwy 643. Hwy. 141 is to the east of it.
@seksamerika I was talking about what the song is referring to, not the singer when I was talking to cb777lr when they asked if the song was a reference to going to hell.
@renegadebiker24 The Fire Lake you are referring to is in the U.P. of Michigan, in Iron County, in the township of Crystal Falls. My family and I own property on the lake. There was a forest fire there in the early 20th century. (1920's) Before the fire, it was named Lady Lake as the lake resembles the shape of a woman.
@matttee13 Matt I hardly know what to say, The Silver Bullet Band is honestly my favorite in concert. They were phenomenal and just when Bob Seger was getting big nationwide I was telling everyone who would listen about the great new band I was discovering. I assume you know Bob and pretty much all the guys who were in the band. Your dad is a lucky guy to have been in the band and you're lucky to have such an awesome dad. Just remember rock and roll never forgets.
@jimstull Well thank you, but I've never met Bob or any of the members of the band. I was born about 15 years after my dad left the band sadly. I have still met some pretty famous people though!
Been watchinf Uncle Bobby since he was with the System. Seeger has always put on a great show. I went to Cobo when they recorded Live Bullet and it was the best of all
what year was this song originally played? I see things that say 1979-80 but I am sure I heard it in 1978... was it maybe sold as a single then put on the album in 1980? because I also read that it was actually written a few years before and was intended to go on an album released in 1975 but there was no room for it so they held onto it till later. anyone know for sure?
brenda.. . bob starting writing this song in 71 . he planned to put it on the 75 beautiful loser album . but it didnt make the final cut.. he finally released it in 80 on the against the wind album.. if you listen closely you can hear don henely. tom schmit and glenn fry . from the eagles they do back up vocals on that track
