this is bull shit this crap dose more damage than good small engines will not run right it will cost you lots of money for reparis it the same with cars and trucks it will COST you BIG TIME and i dont care what thay say IT IS NOT GOOD we are in trouble
we are doomed D: (to make ethenol you break down sugar to make ethenol which makes c02 and its less fuel efficient and you need energy to make it...) my school is teaching us shit and they are not considering the downsides
@Localmode i know that on a truck, you could try to change the fuel filter after proceeding the process of running ure truck on ethanol because the flex fuel is basically removing all that engine gunk produced by gasoline. after that, it should run fine. then i could be wrong, but thats what i know.
@dopanan I have a thermodynamic question for you. I am a fan of ethanol. and i consider myself an average dumbass. I think the automobile industry doesn't take advantage of ethanol's 105 octane. i will concede that ethanol is a shorter carbon chain than oil. but with it's high octane it could be compressed more. My GUESS is you can make up SOME of the loos by using a smaller displacement engine. example:14:1 4 cylinder VS 8:1 V8. looks like14:1 is 15.4% more efficient than 8:1 V8. your opinion?
@Localmode the reason why ur truck may be running like crap is because ethanol is an alcohol based fuel with 15% gas. all that alcohol is cleaning out all the gunk in your gas tank, fuel lines and fuel pump and cramming it through ur fuel injectors. that is why when u run it you put in new injectors after a cycle or so when using ethanol in the beginning.
