Well you don't ride THE SAME. An equitation course and a hunter course and the judges for the different classes are looking for and required different things. But yes, slouching isn't good in any ring, and since hunters are judged subjectively a slouching rider presents a less nice overall picture and a rider with a good position and a nice horse would place higher than an equally nice horse with a less nice rider. well since he is my HUNTER i usually try to focus on him not my self...thats y i have a seperate horse for equitation
