You as a layman person do not get to say that Hadith is corrupt, in the worst case scenario, you should at least take from Hadith whatever doesn't contradict Quran and leave those that might seemingly be in contradiction, chugging out the entire Hadith is almost blasphemous

My friend, I know where you are coming from I've read all the arguments supposedly supporting your case, and even the most logical of them cannot justify dismissing the entire Hadith as fabricated, at best, they just cast doubt on authenticity of some Hadiths, but even then not very convincingly.

As for alcohol, the Quran doesn't say "You should avoid alcohol" it says "avoid it", there is not "should" in there.

The closest thing I know is: "They question thee about strong drink and games of chance. Say: In both is great sin, and (some) utility for men; but the sin of them is greater than their usefulness".

The verse says "some usefulness", nothing about it being "refreshing" or "good".

Sorry, I did speak out of ignorance, let me rectify my previous statement, the verse does say strong drinks or intoxicants,.but in the Arabic text wholesome refers only to food , "Sakaran wa rizkan hasanan" - Hasanan being what is translated as "good" or "wholesome", but here hasanan is not carried over to Sakaran "intoxicants", if it were , the verse would have read "Hasanayn" (or Hasana'an, depending on the grammar rule) which is not the case.

Also - and this is only my humble opinion, not sure if any scholar shares it - if anything I think this verse is actually stating again that intoxicants aren't good, using a contrast evident in starting that these fruits can be used to produce "intoxicants" (as well as) wholesome "foods and drinks". It's like me saying "people use guns to murder as well as to protect", and there lies the sign God is speaking of, the two contrasting usages for fruits.

One thing related to the verse you cited that I forgot to mention, Arabic is very different from English in many ways, one such way is how adjectives are used, in Arabic the adjective comes after the noun, in English it comes before. And here the adjective "Hasanan" came after Rizkan (food and drink used for nourishment) when translated to English "wholesome" was positioned before "drinks (intoxicants)", but that is an error in translation.

Brother, controversy about Hadith aside. We Muslims deal only in absolutes, when God says "avoid" it, it doesn't mean we're given a choice. God says clearly that alcohol is a "sin", and by definition a sin is Haram, otherwise how do you define what Haram is? If doing something is sinful then doing it is haram.

It is forbidden to even touch alcohol. It is actually forbidden to be in the presence of alcohol so eating meat which contains alcohol is forbidden.

There is no complusion in religion. no any alcohol that is ingested in the body (except for medical reasons) is haraam (forbidden). So, even if it is marinated, small quantity, or super-small quantity...it is only haraam. No two ways about it. Hope that answers your question.

I once made a cameltrip in Kashmir. Every night the cameldrivers where extremely drunk: they had brought a lot of alcohol with them: WE didn't,as we thought it would OFFEND them.

I got even 2 racist friends and i'm turkish. I drink alcohol myself, lots of muslims do but we aint a practising one. I hope i can quit one day :d
