BTW sk8bow so Scott Walker has$100 million? NOT...he has a crappy house in a 3rd rate subdivision. His parents were preachers, he worked for IBM selling warrenties...a little like the Kmart folks trying to sell you a warranty...so unless he recently won the lotto... So what is the point of the money issue? They all pay taxes to the state....its just the state is BROKE!
@tslagi1838 um no scott lives in the governor's mansion look it up it's definitely not a a crappy house in a 3rd rate subdivision. get your facts right ass hole
I believe they are thugs (I was a Teamster) I was at an Al Gore rally, problem was it was across the street from a house that was HQ for Ralf Nader and we handed out literature for nader on the owners property..union thugs came by and demanded our literature...ALL of it. Some handed it over I stuffed them in my pants and said come on and get it! They left after a few tense moments...later handed them out again. I have MORE..better examples...
to all those who believe in these unions and who are protesting, you need to watch this video on youtube, the title is "" I told you we could prove sorros obama and the communists of america were behind the protest"" watch that video and do the research and see for yourself that this is all planned to bring america down. These protesters are just falling into the trap that they are setting
there are roughly 355,000 union members in wisconsin. let's say they all have one million dollars in net worth which is a high estimate. think about it, one million? that would make their worth around 355 million dollars.
the net worth of the koch brothers is about 17.5 billion dollars
scott walker's net worth is about 100 million. this one individual has almost 1/3 the high estimate worth of the wis union members.
I WOKE UP AT 2 AM EVERY FUCKING DAY AND WORKED MY ASS OFF UNTIL 9AM JUST TO GET PAID 8.50 AN HOUR TEN YEARS AGO. I WORKED MY FINGERS TO THE BONE TO ESTABLISH MYSELF IN THE UNION AND I MADE IT.

The union is like a virus, sucking the life out of us... thinking only of themselves. Wisconsin is a good example.
@sk8bow It is a money issue. What happens next contract, when the union wants another pay raise, or they want a better insurance plan, or they want to better their vacation time, get more paid sick days, or better their pension? For the hourly pay keeps going up, and benefits keep getting better for union worker, the employees in the private sector stays the same... and in fact, the taxes from those private sector jobs go to the union's higher pay and benefits. THIEVES!! Wisconsin is bankrupt!
Cont... Wisconsin owes Minnesota 58 million dollars! Wisconsin is going bankrupt, and the union is a contributor to the problem... now, the Wisconsin Democrats who left the state, are also contributors to the problem.
As I said before, I was a union worker at a warehouse, and that business went under after 75 yrs of business, because of union greed (i.e. wanting more hourly pay, better pensions, more vacation, more sick days, etc.). Wisconsin is going broke because of collective bargaining.

Everything the rich touch they destroy for common people, we need to go to socialism, so everybody pays the exact same amount in taxes, where education is free with no fears, from Gov STATISM. The world does not need billionaires or millionaires. corporations, monarchy, dictators, people (politicians included) who don't play by the same rules
Social media like Face Book and Twitter have been used to revolutionize societies. Maybe they should be tried in the U.S. Rewrite and reintroduce the “Employee Freedom of Choice” Act so it uses the Internet to allow workers to request and conduct a vote on union representation in truly secret elections where bosses can’t identify and fire union organizers. Make corporations bargain with unions 30 days after workers vote in a union. A REAL secret ballot to make the Chamber of Commerce happy!
VOTE in 2012 KIDS. When you do vote, remember the comments made here by Republicans and the political right about your freedom of speech and freedom of assembly to protest. If you are too lazy to vote, these people will make the laws and determine the changes to the Constitution under which you and your children will have to live the rest of your lives. CONTACT YOUR CONGRESS PEOPLE AND VOTE!
Let me see all these teachers and students out protesting. Maybe they should be back in school learning something since the US ranks 18th out of 36 Industrial countries. This despite outspending these countries! Maybe we should fire some teachers or better yet lets have charter schools and let the money follow the student. Then schools would actually have to compete! Wait the Teachers Union would have a SH$% fit. Screw the kids we just want more money!!!
You need to have too independent sides of the Revolution:The Covert Side would perpetrate both assassinations, espionage and sabotage;the Overt Side would perpetrate acts such as is on display in this video;propaganda ( with rallies, marches, online comments, posters, graffiti et al,as vehicles).
bunchof dipstiX whinging about HAVING TO PAY 2 PERCENT MORE for THEIR INLATED BENEFITS---oooh my mymy----then bringing in the commie rent a mob and blocking the capitOL building and still ranting about no negotiations ???? bring it ON.......we're tired of waiting.
There are some really interesting interviews with workers, young people and other demonstrators in this video. They explain what they think about the situation they are facing, and outline some of the political conclusions that they've drawn from their experiences.
"I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the public sector. A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government."President FDR
God bless the Governor! How perverted is it for people in unions to protest this. I guess it's ok for them to keep forcing homeowners and parents of kids in private schools to continue paying for their cushy benefits.
God knows they're going to cling to their perks, like a rat to a sinking ship, to the bitter end, even if Wisconsin goes broke because of it. Shame on them!
You have a Gov who hasn't even been there for six weeks that was handed a $3.1 Billion Dollar Bill the state owes by the outgoing bunch who basically sold out all the taxpayers in the state. All in the name of staying in power thanks to outlandish and insane deals to support Unions.
There is no money, plain and simple. And those who say we'll pay more in taxes...fine, you pay and anyone else who wants to just write a check and send it in but leave the responsible out of it.
I think the union members have it pretty good and asking them to pay a little more is not unreasonable. This country is drowning with debt and the unions are getting taxpayer money, which I think should stop.
Governor will stand firm. This demonstration is organize by the O'Blabla's political movement. If these unions, and teachers believe they have a right for entitlements, then this state will fail. Budget control is needed.
The protests are for teachers, municipal workers, garbage collectors, university professors, student workers and various public workers. Collective bargaining is a fundamental right of every Wisconsin worker - union or non-union. A Tea-Party governor's attempt to suppress rights of people is unprecedented and un-American. This bill should not pass and alarm every American at the draconian thuggery used by people in power to dilute voice of the masses.
Perhaps if these teachers weren't forced to pay union dues out of their salary, they could then afford to be like normal people and pay for their own (or a portion thereof) health insurance and retirement? It's a valid question. If these teachers receive more pay as a result of these protests, do they in turn agree to render a higher quality of instruction? What do they offer in exchange for their demands being met? Or are they just inarticulately screaming "Pay me More!"?
@TheSynthMonster That's good to hear. Now if these state employees could just stop stealing from the taxpayer and get back to work teaching, as the public trust them to do, things would be great! I think the state should review all these protest tapes, identify the teachers in attendance, and fire those who committed fraud by calling in sick to attend a protest.
You need to remember that this is a recession. For everyone with a job, there are about 10 people behind you waiting for your job....
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
a protest by non working students who have no clue how the real world works. Willing puppets who support the pathetic complaints of their teacher who's well-being is supported solely by the private sector. If youre a student after "higher" education you better start learning to use your own brain.
@TheSynthMonster And they dont care about the destruction of the private sector because they're to stupid to realize the private sector pays their wages and benefits. These protestors have no ground to stand on!
@wipemysmile You have got to be completely ignorant to think that these people are coming together solely because someone told them to do so. This is something that is obviously going to directly affect students and the quality of their education statewide here in Wisconsin. This is primarily an issue surrounding the rights of professors, teaching assistants, and staff, but it ultimately begins to trickle down to the students that depend on these talented, hard-working individuals. KILL THE BILL
@phuckinmoe And guess who pays for all of this so called talent you're talking about and dont say the government because they dont pay for anything. Your the ignorant one.
FYI it is mandatory to pay union dues in Wisconsin and a whole lot of Independent and republican union members voted the governor in last Nov. So there are a lot more union members who are behind the governor.
@daveusaz1218 Look the point is if youre going to watch the news know how to tell the news from the bs. While you argue with me how stupid or legit this protest is the real news no one is talking about is how we are gearing up for world war and how the us is responsible for all the uprising in the middle east. So keep watching your liberal news or your fox news who doesn't even support and lies about Ron Paul the most conservative of all. They have you looking right were they want.
@daveusaz1218 Um I am american but by all means dont let me stop you from worrying about america. Dark times when the spoiled unions have to cut back with the rest of us who pay for them. If you're not a dumbass and are truly worried about america I think whats going on in the middle east is much more of a story so please worry about america and keep watching your garbage news
@wipemysmile Now that sounds exactly like something the unAmerican Fox news would say, "Watch whats going on in the middle East so you won't notice the Republicans trying to take your freedoms away in America, I am fully aware whats going on over there but they will look after themselves over there and Americans will do the same here.
@daveusaz1218 To you I say you know nothing. There is no different between rep. and dem. so point your finger at the one youve been taught to hate and embrace the other like an idiot. And you dont know whats going on in the middle east. It is much bigger that the pathetic cries of overpaid and benifited teachers who are leaching off a broke private sector. We are on the brink of war and any tax paying american couldnt care less about you poor little teachers that are being asked to cut back.
@wipemysmile You like a dog that doesn't get any love, So you bark at the mailman even if he has a letter from your beloved family. You just keep watching and listening to Fox news, Rush L. and Glenn B. because you doing very good parroting their disinformation and hate propaganda dung pile.
@daveusaz1218 Id be happy to debate with you if you had offered a single point to rebuttal. I dont listen to any media and least of all liberal but dont care much for rush glenn fox or msnbc etc. I do this rare thing called thinking and i do my own research so it is you who is caught up in the propaganda. But go ahead and keep staring into your brainwash machine that has you thinking exactly the way they want and call everyone you think is on the other side of your stupid argument ignorant.
@wipemysmile I am truly sorry of the fact that your view of our school is extremely distorted, most of these rallies were actually encouraged by students not the teachers, Proffesors, nor TAs. Wisconsin is number one in research and one of the top public universities in the country, I can assure you we can think with our "own brain." If you just look at the videos you can tell that most of the protesters are undergraduates and grad students.
@robbiegodi Oh youre from Wisconsin, good for you. Im from california and I can tell you we already had this problem and guess how we solved the money problem since the greedy unions refused to cut back like everyone else. We had to release criminals from our prisons because we had to come up with the money somewhere so go ahead and support your greedy teachers and bureaucrats so they can destroy your state as well and maintain that Im the one with a distorted view.
Who's the puppet? You know nothing of these students yet you accuse them of being manipulated by their teachers. I think YOU are the one who is a puppet. Teachers work for a living. All business is supported by the private sector directly or indirectly since the taxpayers are the private sector. What would you know?!
@wipemysmile GEE Thanks for stealing my thunder !!!!!!! Did you ever wonder about those brilliant minds who have to go to graduate programs cant figure out how to pay for their own educatiion
I homeschooled my child, It was a great option for us. But the ONLY reason I could do that is that my husband has a good UNION job with benefits.
People need to actually read about this. This governor started with a surplus & CREATED the budget shortfall so he could bust these unions. READ people!
This is Democracy. That Constitution that you claim to Love started like this and the Bill of Rights that came years later only came about because of determined folks just like these. I am so proud of them.
This is one more example of the failure of the Public School System.. the kids are neither learning, neither safe and if I were one of their parents, I would immediately seek alternatives (Home School is a very good option, there's no better teacher than YOU).
Hopefully this embarrassing protest will encourage Parents to take matters in their Kid's education, and remove them from such insecure places of indoctrination.
@garciadelacadena homeschooling is not always a good alternative, both of my parents work and we have little money so there is no chance I could ever be home schooled , and in some cases Home Schooled kids lack social skills that public high school students have
@TheSynthMonster Is not a good idea to give your opinion with out doing your OWN research, everything you said are misconceptions.
I would suggest you to talk to home school students of your age, learn about home school plans (there are many to choose from) and how they complement their studies with extra-curriculum activities.
Your biggest misconceptions are:
1. Kids learn at the public school.
2. Lack of social skills if you are a home schooler.
@garciadelacadena actually all i said is true learning is a choice so kids who are home schooled who don't want to learn and public school kids who don't want to learn are the same just like kids who do want to learn, and there a 8 families on the street i live on who are home schooled and they all lack proper social skills. and to home school one parent would have to quit their job or take less hours so if you all ready have a low income it would be a bad choice
@TheSynthMonster Like I said before, you need to talk to fellow home schoolers to understand how it works; everything you say are classical misconceptions and excuses against a system that has proven to be effective for many years and is gaining more popularity due to the fact of the insecurity and poor education at the public schools (I am pretty sure drugs is a big problem where you are).
I would also suggest to start reading career books to expand your horizons!!
@garciadelacadena How are you going to home school your kids if both parents work two jobs just to survive? How are your kids going to get a good education if the parent himself didn't? If you can home school your children is because somewhere down the line someone went to a good school, maybe even a public school, and got a good education, if it wasn't directly you.
@garciadelacadena Well maybe you have the education level needed to home school your child, but after reviewing my 5th grader's math assignments, I've determined that I am not smarter than a 5th grader in mathematics. What the children are learning in Wisconsin right now is a lesson in US history, Democracy, the right to Assemble, and how the political system works, this is a much better lesson, than one taught in any classroom.

There are some really interesting interviews with workers, young people and other demonstrators in this video. They explain what they think about the situation they are facing, and outline some of the political conclusions that they've drawn from their experiences.

NiteSkyLookr 1 year ago
I think the union members have it pretty good and asking them to pay a little more is not unreasonable. This country is drowning with debt and the unions are getting taxpayer money, which I think should stop.

Governor will stand firm. This demonstration is organize by the O'Blabla's political movement. If these unions, and teachers believe they have a right for entitlements, then this state will fail. Budget control is needed.
macdogq 1 year ago
The protests are for teachers, municipal workers, garbage collectors, university professors, student workers and various public workers. Collective bargaining is a fundamental right of every Wisconsin worker - union or non-union. A Tea-Party governor's attempt to suppress rights of people is unprecedented and un-American. This bill should not pass and alarm every American at the draconian thuggery used by people in power to dilute voice of the masses.
acms2000 1 year ago 2
Perhaps if these teachers weren't forced to pay union dues out of their salary, they could then afford to be like normal people and pay for their own (or a portion thereof) health insurance and retirement? It's a valid question. If these teachers receive more pay as a result of these protests, do they in turn agree to render a higher quality of instruction? What do they offer in exchange for their demands being met? Or are they just inarticulately screaming "Pay me More!"?
I really want to know

@ramv36 thats because no one was ready for it the next 2 days they did it people sang along and took there hats off

This comment has received too many negative votes show
a protest by non working students who have no clue how the real world works. Willing puppets who support the pathetic complaints of their teacher who's well-being is supported solely by the private sector. If youre a student after "higher" education you better start learning to use your own brain.

@wipemysmile at the school I go to none of the teachers told us to go or even talked about it at all, the Students actually care about their teachers

KILL THE BILL
phuckinmoe 1 year ago 2
@phuckinmoe And guess who pays for all of this so called talent you're talking about and dont say the government because they dont pay for anything. Your the ignorant one.
wipemysmile 1 year ago
@phuckinmoe
FYI it is mandatory to pay union dues in Wisconsin and a whole lot of Independent and republican union members voted the governor in last Nov. So there are a lot more union members who are behind the governor.

@wipemysmile Go back to North Korea and let Americans fix of our corrupt government, we don't need any more comments from you.

They have you looking right were they want.
wipemysmile 1 year ago
@wipemysmile Nobody is arguing with you, You are being asked to let Americans worry about America. :=P
daveusaz1218 1 year ago
@daveusaz1218 Um I am american but by all means dont let me stop you from worrying about america. Dark times when the spoiled unions have to cut back with the rest of us who pay for them. If you're not a dumbass and are truly worried about america I think whats going on in the middle east is much more of a story so please worry about america and keep watching your garbage news
wipemysmile 1 year ago
@wipemysmile Now that sounds exactly like something the unAmerican Fox news would say, "Watch whats going on in the middle East so you won't notice the Republicans trying to take your freedoms away in America, I am fully aware whats going on over there but they will look after themselves over there and Americans will do the same here.
daveusaz1218 1 year ago

Wisconsin is number one in research and one of the top public universities in the country, I can assure you we can think with our "own brain." If you just look at the videos you can tell that most of the protesters are undergraduates and grad students.
robbiegodi 1 year ago
@robbiegodi Oh youre from Wisconsin, good for you. Im from california and I can tell you we already had this problem and guess how we solved the money problem since the greedy unions refused to cut back like everyone else. We had to release criminals from our prisons because we had to come up with the money somewhere so go ahead and support your greedy teachers and bureaucrats so they can destroy your state as well and maintain that Im the one with a distorted view.

@wipemysmile
Who's the puppet? You know nothing of these students yet you accuse them of being manipulated by their teachers. I think YOU are the one who is a puppet. Teachers work for a living. All business is supported by the private sector directly or indirectly since the taxpayers are the private sector. What would you know?!

I homeschooled my child, It was a great option for us. But the ONLY reason I could do that is that my husband has a good UNION job with benefits.
People need to actually read about this. This governor started with a surplus & CREATED the budget shortfall so he could bust these unions. READ people!

This is one more example of the failure of the Public School System.. the kids are neither learning, neither safe and if I were one of their parents, I would immediately seek alternatives (Home School is a very good option, there's no better teacher than YOU).
Hopefully this embarrassing protest will encourage Parents to take matters in their Kid's education, and remove them from such insecure places of indoctrination.
garciadelacadena 1 year ago
@garciadelacadena homeschooling is not always a good alternative, both of my parents work and we have little money so there is no chance I could ever be home schooled , and in some cases Home Schooled kids lack social skills that public high school students have
TheSynthMonster 1 year ago
@TheSynthMonster Is not a good idea to give your opinion with out doing your OWN research, everything you said are misconceptions.
I would suggest you to talk to home school students of your age, learn about home school plans (there are many to choose from) and how they complement their studies with extra-curriculum activities.
Your biggest misconceptions are:
1. Kids learn at the public school.
2. Lack of social skills if you are a home schooler.
3. Home schooling It's expensive.
garciadelacadena 1 year ago
@garciadelacadena actually all i said is true learning is a choice so kids who are home schooled who don't want to learn and public school kids who don't want to learn are the same just like kids who do want to learn, and there a 8 families on the street i live on who are home schooled and they all lack proper social skills. and to home school one parent would have to quit their job or take less hours so if you all ready have a low income it would be a bad choice
TheSynthMonster 1 year ago
@garciadelacadena also my parents are almost 60 and barely understand the work i have to do
TheSynthMonster 1 year ago
@TheSynthMonster Like I said before, you need to talk to fellow home schoolers to understand how it works; everything you say are classical misconceptions and excuses against a system that has proven to be effective for many years and is gaining more popularity due to the fact of the insecurity and poor education at the public schools (I am pretty sure drugs is a big problem where you are).
I would also suggest to start reading career books to expand your horizons!!
garciadelacadena 1 year ago
@garciadelacadena How are you going to home school your kids if both parents work two jobs just to survive? How are your kids going to get a good education if the parent himself didn't? If you can home school your children is because somewhere down the line someone went to a good school, maybe even a public school, and got a good education, if it wasn't directly you.
robbiegodi 1 year ago
@garciadelacadena Well maybe you have the education level needed to home school your child, but after reviewing my 5th grader's math assignments, I've determined that I am not smarter than a 5th grader in mathematics. What the children are learning in Wisconsin right now is a lesson in US history, Democracy, the right to Assemble, and how the political system works, this is a much better lesson, than one taught in any classroom.
