I am a self taught drummer atleast until now, and i think this was one of the beats i first learned, watching these videos are very helpful, cant get on the drums yet but when i can im going to use all these new techniques i learned :D although reteaching myself some new tricks is gonna be a pain in the ass
This is by far the most annoying beat ever. It was the first drum beat I ever recognized. Second drum beat I ever learned. Everyone played it, ALL through middle school. I mean, I'm sure it's not annoying to the rest of you, but this beat, for me... Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. .-.
Hey man I love the lessons, I'm a beginner, but I'm alos learning how to read music also. This would be the part where the dotted 8th note comes into play. Keep up the good work!
I first want to say thanks for the lessons. I have been playing for a week and have nearly cracked this break beat groove, I think the fact your dressed as tigger helps. peace
Thats hard :P I havent find a teacher yet, and learning my self :P i guess thats why, well i want to learn some basic stuff right now, and then when i have been find a good teacher then it would be more easyer do deal with it or something ... Lmfao :D
I'm a Zoroastrian who listens to Earth, Wind and Fire but I agree with siddacious who cares about the relationship between preferred music and ones religion they are unrelated (unless they are intentionally integrated like Christian rock hmm I wonder if there is Muslim rap but thats not the point) try to keep the conversation relevant to the video itself, there is probably a forum about Christian death metal that would love your imput.
for some reason, for evryone this is the forst beat they play, probably because you aren't hitting more thn one thing as much as other beats, not much coordination needed.
Thought about do stick spinning and bouncing stuff like bouncing the stick over ur fingers or doing that thing where you hold it differently. I forget what its called. With your left hand and use ur fingers to bounce it fast. I am learning that but it would be a good video. even just a small one :)
hey dude i was wondering if you could teach us something to impress people not too hard but not too easy something with a challenge and will help us for the future?
OMG that is the beat for It's gotta be a good life

the most common stick size used is 5a
TheCompulsionToKill 2 years ago 2
whats a good size drumstick to use for metal drumming
brady67123 2 years ago
i use 5A but find what you like not what other ppl like
plec14 2 years ago
depends on what youre goin to drum, i use 2 pairs of drum sticks. 7a and 5b
exist09 2 years ago
try a little heavier stick, so they don't break. I drum hard rock, some metal and hardcore and 7a's broke a lot. 7b or 5a is good.
