  • currently playing this on my ps3. it's nice to see my childhood memories still hold up in this day and age.

  • now on psn

  • im getting this !!!

  • Best game on PSOne

  • @MystakaACE Wow. Those are some big words. PSone was a great system. You may be right though.Although Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Marvel vs Capcom, Twisted Metal, Chrono Cross, Bushido Blade, Castlevania: SotN Final Fantasy VII, and Oddworld definitely deserve honorable mentions.

  • I wish I had this game :(

  • i used to play on this game! I used to call it Klona! hahahaa

  • i got this but missing the manual. still good game, dont plan on selling it anyway

  • I loved this game as a kid. too bad it's fairly pricey.

  • Don't forget Tombi! It was just as Klonoa! :D

  • @94mav98 Tomba!

  • @KingDavid73 No, it was called Tombi here in Europe.

  • @94mav98 oh, ok. good to know. either way, those games were good.

  • @KingDavid73 Indeed! :D

  • i acually like this game i have it on the psp and im almost there to fight the final boss ....but im stuck on this one level....

  • This>littlebigplanet. ugh that game does not deserve all the fame it gets compared to Klonoa.

  • One of the best game on PlayStation and one of the best plaftorm of all time. It didn't "invent" the 2,5D style: Pandemonium and Yoshi's Story are anterior to Klonoa.

Namco "only" provided a wonderful, wonderful game. In an era when Namco games was made of gold

  • This game reminded me a bit of Kirby 64 the first time I played it.

  • Ok here is a bit of a story for everyone: I played this game quite some time ago in my childhood, before this review I could only somewhat remember the name and such. After seeing this review it sparked a memory of how fantastic this game is, so thanks CGR undertow for reuniting this game with me, and thanks to Muhammad for donating the game for review.

  • The game looks really fun. I should get the Wii remake and get the second one off Ebay, The game also seems very familiar to the game Wild 9 as in level design. Anyone remember that game?

  • lol music dont forget the great music

  • I would tottaly buy this, buy it's freaking 50 bucks on Amazon! WTF

  • @SniperStorm7 The game was SEVERELY overlooked, thus it didn't sell very well, so it's quite rare, I got a copy for 40 bucks used, but it was totally worth it

  • @Shadxlox101 Yes, I'm planning on getting it for my graduation.

  • still cant believe i sold my copy

  • Love the sequel (Just picked it up last weekend too)

  • this needs to be on the psn

  • @bigasmith23 Just came out today!

  • this game goes 50 dallors and up on ebay

  • I'd take a furry over a fat-Italian plumber any day.

  • @imascatmanworld What does that even have to do with his comment? Ignorant Nintendo fanboy.

  • @acidsyringe69 that you sit home all day masturbaiting to furrys

  • @imascatmanworld Didn't you mean to send that comment to Destroyificator? Fail kid.

  • @acidsyringe69 hey your the one defending them

  • @imascatmanworld That's because his comment was funny. Yours is just sad.

  • @Destroyificator There's room for both in my heart ^_^

  • Kind of reminds me of Tombi/Tomba, another awesome game.

  • I used to play Klonoa all the time on the gameboy advance. That game was awesome.

  • I've been meaning to pick up the remake of this game, because I have NEVER played a Klonoa game, but it looks good. Although... I do have a gripe with something in this review. In it, Klonoa was called a furry. 15 years ago, characters like Sonic or Klonoa would never be considered a furry... so... what's changed within the last 15 years to warrant calling them furries?

  • looks like pandemonium

  • Great game. You should also review the wiimake.

  • What animal is Klonoa???

  • @TheCommentGuy8 a dog i think

  • @TheCommentGuy8 A cat/rabbit hybrid

  • the wiimake of this game was great! my only problem with the game was the fact that it was a too short, and too easy. but the actual gameplay and level design was really unique and fun. :D one i need to add to my wii collection :3.

  • Mohummed i love you now.

  • I always wanted to see how originally look like.

  • I miss those days when games were awesome and impressive. Now is more of the same and the same...(first person shooters, 3rd person shooters...deathmatch and team deathmatch...blah!)

  • @ZeroDragon Yes. And even Nintendo went downhill in my opinion. The Mario platforming games got so linear, Mario kart is just plain luck and I haven't seen a new Mario Party for years :(

    ...or F-Zero

  • @Lugmillord

The Mario platforming games have ALWAYS been linear. The most non-linear it ever got was getting a different star than the one you chose in Super Mario 64, and that was only because of limited resources.

I can't argue with Mario Kart or the lack of F-Zero, though.

  • @321cheeseman Super Mario 64 and Sunshine were both non-linear. You could just run around, search for stuff, collect the stars you find or look out for blue coins. And since those are the games I played so much when i was young I was kinda dissappointed when I played the Galaxys

  • @Lugmillord The 2D Mario games have always been linear, so this isn't anything new for Mario. However, 3D Mario has definitely become more linear, and has been more about pure platforming than adventuring. I'm fine with that though.

...Also, Mario Party has been surpassed by the superior Wii Party.

  • @IRSPONGEBOB Wii Party is garbage in my opinion

  • Thanks Derek ^_^ Seeing this review made me think though, CGR Undertow doesn't delve that much into the sound department besides the voice acting, huh. Love the OST of this game

  • @ReverendNamtubb The OST of this game ROCKS ! I used to listen to it everyday after I beat the game !

  • Klonoa should get a new game and then he would be a potential choice for a Namco rep. in the next Smash Bros. game, if there will ever be another one!

  • I know another awesome game from 1997, Final Fantasy VII

  • Wow, Derek actually did a good review for once, good job.

  • @kR0B45 Wow, no need to be a dick, but good job at making yourself one.

    I'm just saying...

  • @AkkiWare agreed.

  • @AkkiWare Wow, i was called a dick for saying good job, so would i be a nice guy for saying "shitty review, it sucked"?

  • @kR0B45 It was the way you said it.

  • @AkkiWare "the way i said it" im typing it on a comment section of a youtube video, there is no tone to speak of.

  • @kR0B45 what a fag

  • @kR0B45 Ok the way you typed it then.

  • @AkkiWare Oh so your mad that i dont use all my fingers to type? how did you know that anyway?

  • @kR0B45 i'm magic like that.

  • This needs to be released as a PSone Classic.

  • @crazymiles

    Agreed, it should be!

  • @crazymiles it was, but on wrong console lol. wiiiii.

  • @crazymiles Got your wish... It's out TODAY!

  • @rap779

    Yes! I got it!

  • @crazymiles Just was! ; )

  • Klonoa is nice but on the Playstation, Tomba did it better

  • I used to have the original version - it ROCKS! Between this review and the Ristar review, I like Derek even more than I used to!! I know you can't see it from the review video, but this was the first platformer that I played that had 60fps. (actually I take that back: the 2nd 60fps platformer - Crash 2 was the first) But really, if any of you have the money and a PS2/X or a Wii, GET THIS! Happy day :)

  • Although not as pretty, the way the screen sort of turns, reminds me a lot of Nights Into Dreams on Sega Saturn.

  • WAHOO!!!

  • You know you're good at reviewing when people from the Near East send you games to review.

  • I never got to play this game back in the day despite how much I lobed platformers in that era. I played the crap out of Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 and 3. This looks awesome. I would love to give it a try

  • Mohammad if you're reading this. Thank you so much man or as they say Shukran ;D

  • Did anybody else notice that at 3:38 when Klonoa went under that platform with the mouse over his head, the mouse was squeezed until he walked on the other side. I was like OMG this game is nearly 14 years old on a PS1! Great review Derek now how about stop reviewing so many damn Nintendo games and review more games like Klonoa and other great games from other game systems. Not saying Nintendo is shit, it's just a little overkill with Nintendo games recently.

  • CGR! have you done Astal for SEGA Saturn yet? What a cool game, yet so simple, and the visual style give modern games a run for their money. I believe it did so-so in sales due to the absence of a proper end-lable on the SEGA saturn Box.

  • This is a great Bleemcast-able game, too!

  • @ShoobyBugger you are too funny, you got a big collection of CD-rs? haha. Thanks for metioning that fact, I don't know if I already have that one. Snesorama? I just got SEGA Arcade hits for DC CD-r...That's a great game.

  • @stringanime Ha, no, though I bet downloading it like that is an option, I use the Bleem! source with the original CD.

  • @ShoobyBugger I used to know where my Bleem! disc was, but I lost track of it. I had to resort to CD-rs after my Modded Japan Dreamcast broke. 80 Japan DC discs were instantly useless to me....CD-R back-ups were a great option for me...HAHA! I even got BLEEM again on a CD-R...How weird that is!

  • Mohammed. I love you. And I love your taste in games.
