@southyorksEDL I agree that PB's are a more useful dog and are more trainable which is their downfall because nasty people cottoned on to this very quickly,sadly law enforcment is slower to catch on to the superior working ability of PB's.Kangals weigh in at about 9 to 11 stone and proportional to weight are stronger than a PB.I've owned Kangals and had dealings with PB's so I know.Check out Kangal pulls tractor here on youtube.And they weren't even baiting it.

@southyorksEDL Kangals are very independant minded.Very affectionate with their own family.Standoffish with strangers.They have almost no prey drive at all.ie they will not chase a ball if you throw it.They will think you mustn't want it then.PB's are illegal to own where I live.Kangals are not.But Kangal dogs are superior athletes to PB's.Not so good to train for anything.Kangals are specialist Flock Guard dogs.Woe betide anything that threatens their sheep.

@raidernation80 Not really. Pit bulls can jump very high but there are breeds that can jump higher. Some pointer breeds jump over 6 foot fences easily, they fligh straight over the top with ease, this pit bull just barely made it over.

Boxers are another breed that can jump much higher due to their long, strong back legs.

The only way that fence is 6 feet tall is if the guy in the video standing next to the fence is about 6'6" (six foot + six inches) tall. The fence is 5 feet tall, maybe a few inches higher. And the dog only jumps maybe 4 feet and then climbs the rest of the way over. Still a good jump and good jumping ability by the pit.

@RostaFixiation - In order to measure the jump - you have to do it how they measure the vertical leap of NBA players - they don't measure where the hands touch - they measure how high the feet get. So for a dog, you have to measure how high his hind legs (back legs) get off the ground before he pulls himself the rest of the way over. You can clearly see that his back legs are only 3 feet above the ground.

You should get him into competition--he would love it . Pit bulls and Amstaffs are very athletic (unless they are very stocky/overweight & more bulldog-ish) but it is a great way to drain their never-ending energy. My Amstaff loves to jump over things.
