  • I really would like to use this for one of my school projects.. I want to make some type of vehicle with this as the "wheel"

In order to save time so I don't model this, is it possible you could email me the .IPT or .IAM files?

  • Great Simulation!! Where did you get your proportions?? Please help :)

  • @LukeMaximoBell Thanks.... I just made them up, but I think there are a lot of sites with accurate dimensions. Just "google" it.

  • The model has the leg axles at the same height as the centre drive crank - that is not correct as it will cause the machine to rise and fall with each step.

  • @ZoeMarks Yeah, I know. I just built this quick to show a friend that it was possible and spark interest. I may go back and rebuild with correct proportions. I may even set up the dynamic simulation to show the walking actually happen.

  • I found a site that looks like it could be a good resource potentially for 3D Inventor Content, hopefully more stuff starts showing up. theSimpleConcept.ca

  • @RusselPost if you are looking for inventor content that is outside of the huge content library that comes with Inventor you should google charlesbliss the first site that comes up is his inventor site. I is not the best looking site, but there is lots of great content.

  • Hey awesome video, just curious what your using for your 3d orbit, looks nice and fluid!

Also your ground plane grid seems to be scaled up?

  • @Exilim2040 the rotation is done with a 3D mouse from 3dconnexion and the ground plane has been adjusted using the ground plane settings. I did a manual override and sized it to be really big.

  • @JohnHelfen thanks just checking them out now,

I figured out the ground plane just as you replied!

  • What about using DS for simulating the movement ?

  • @mshakeelm I am sure you could use Dynamic Sim, I just haven't set it up.

  • can you ivent new technoligies tith this CAD? stuff no ones every created before? how would i do that?

  • @happygamestvfun1 Inventor is a blank slate. You can create all kinds of things in it.

  • Whats better this program or solidworks?

  • @happygamestvfun1 Well I work for Autodesk.....so Inventor. Really I think it's up to each person to decide for themselves. I have used both and find Inventor to be easier to use. If you have any specific questions about Inventor feel free to ask, I will answer what i can.

  • @happygamestvfun1 You can download 30 day free trials at the Autodesk website and if you are a student, meaning you have a .edu address or go to high school, you can download full versions of software for learning purposes for free. Look for the Autodesk education community.

  • @JohnHelfen firsty you cant downlaod it they send you a disk... and i asked whats better, ill make ti mroe clear this time: What program doYOU what you think is better in your honest opinion... inventor or solidworks, These programs are very a very large size and i only have so much internet cap... please tell me pros and cons of both and finnal resaults

  • @happygamestvfun1 I think Inventor is your answer. It reads in more types of data, better ease of use, better larger assembly performance, design accelerators for improving engineering tasks, frame generator, and native AutoCAD built in.

  • @JohnHelfen were can I DOWNLOAD it from, since you seam like are markerting guy you must have the brains to tell me, i want a download, i dont want them to send me a disk after 5 weeks or 3 weeks

  • @happygamestvfun1 Looks like I was mistaken, they have removed the download and switched to online test drive and request by mail. To receive the install sooner you could contact your local reseller, they will have disks on-hand. Sorry about the mix up.

  • this vs solidworks?

  • @happygamestvfun1 Yes, this is the Autodesk manufacturing product that competes with SolidWorks. If that is what you are asking.
