How to make the Estes Amazon Model Rocket

@Epicfantasy....It's actually a standard size 18 mm motor that has AP propellant instead of black powder. It put the Amazon out-of-sight5, and was extremely impressive in flight!

Yesterday, my nephew and I launched an Amazon with an Apogee Medalist D-10-7 for one of the requirements for my bronze NARTREK achievement, What a ride! What a ride!

On the crossfire, how do I keep the fins from falling over while I glue them? Do I have to hold it until it dries and do all the fins seperatley?

@ChoiceI3 You can use a hot glue gun if you have one. Or apply glue to fin and tube and let it sit a few minutes to get tacky then apply and hold a minute. then lay it down in something so that fin is exactly vertical . Or try a loose rubber band. Definitely do all the fins separately.

@epicfantasy Thanks, I think I'll put hot glue on a toothpick and put it on because using the gun would put ot much on it.

@SKMatoBB No, the wadding is fireproof. The rocket engine actually blows a small charge toward the parachute to launch it. Without fireproof wadding the parachute could melt.

That is a seriously powerful engine. You must get a very high launch!

good point on the nosecone fit

The best advice I got on nosecone fitting is - gently lift the rocket by the nosecone, it should stay on, yet should fall off if you gently shake it.

A perfect fit every time without any guesswork for people new to building them.

you can use super glue not cement glue i works good

you see i dont mess around with the engine sticker. i just push an engine in there till it fis and if it dont them i mod the dang thing lol.

If you loose the launch lug you can just use a straw from mcdonalds
