Great - No Video demos of the Moog MF-101 and now this, and after 1 minute of describing to us the regal history of Moog we learn about ...... The Frequency Knob. Great, guess I can ignore the other knobs and switches
@ylju I have not tried red witch pedals yet but they are on my want list. Basically I found a Moog Phaser for 180 which was a really good deal. I think I want the fuzz god 2 and the Empress chorus. Another pedal company :( no longer in production ): that I like is Lovetone...
Moog hasent put out ONE lowpass filter guitar demo. they would get soooo much more money if they did i just wana hear what it sounds like on guitar, i dont even know if it sounds good on the guitar
MF101 is every solo guitarist's dreams. If you have thin buzzy annoing sound use the right side of the pedal and drive knob...MOOG MF 101 IS A MIRACLE WORKER! I had mesa boogie triaxis and could never live without mf 101 by my side..don't believe what I'm talking about?? try it and you will hear for yourself...
whatever you do, don't show the functions that actually make it cool...just the cutoff knob, the most obvious and boring aspect when isolated...thanks!
i know im actually interested into buying a moogerfooger and im not sure what to get. but whenever im trying to look at videos for these moog pedals, they only show one feature. it gets annoying after awhile. but anyways im thinking 12 step phaser or ring modulator. any suggestions, which one would you pick. i need a phaser, but the ring mod is so cool to....
well of course it all depends on your taste and your needs but if I were to buy one Moogerfooger I'd start with the lowpass filter. To me it provides more of the character of the Moog synth sound than any of the other pedals. I was jazzed about the phaser too, but the samples I've heard were very underwhelming. I just bought one of those hand-wired MXR script Phase 90 re-issues and it sounds awesome. More musical and not as tight a sweet spot as my Small Stone. fwiw.
The Moogerfooger phaser is the best sounding pedal moog makes for guitar. The phase 90 is cool but only has one knob!! ONE SKIMPY KNOB!!! I've so many phasers and the moog one wins all of them combined by far.
@guitarlord70 what instrument do u play? if guitar either phaser, MURF or freqbox. If u play synth, then get a freq box cuz it adds another VCO on Sync mode. or just start with the Lowpass Filter then go in order. (if u have the money)
is it possible to create a modular with moogerfoogers? i would connect a midi/cv convertor to the cv of the moogerfoogers and control it with a midi controller...is it possible? do they generate sound? if so, what moogerfooger would work as oscilator? thanks in advance
The phaser, ring mod, freqbox, and lowpass can all be used as oscilators. each fooger houses two modular functions. a collection of the 6 moogerfoogers+an mp201 moog foot controller, and you have your modular moog with midi+cv foot control! the lowpass, and carrier out from the ring mod generate sound. That's about all the info I can give you, because Im not an expert, but google is your friend, and so is Moog! :D
I have one, and it can generate tone by turning the resonance up to 9+. You get sustained pure resonance tone with no audio input- generated by the lowpass filter and nothing else. For reference, if you run a sample&hold lfo through the frequency CV input, it sounds exactly like the 'voice' of C3PO, the little robot from star wars.
if you have a buzzy guitar amp at low volumes put mf 101 in the FX loop....ti makes a miracle!!! you just have to set it right..ti is very expensive butique pedal...but once you plug it in, you will never unplug it again!!! it even turn a crappy drive pedal in a full reach in tone stomp box! I just couldn't believe it!
If you close the filter all the way then it is possible to not let ANY of your sound through except the lowest of the low frequencies. This is why you might find a Moog synth that seems "broken" or you can't figure out how to get a sound on it...its likely that the filter is somewhere below the 12:00 position.
can you mumbel more please

@ootoobings @saladin126 if you get this actual dvd they go into really great detail. The dvd is a really nice tool to go with these pedals.

as far as i know(/knew) this is merely an effect. it can't produce sound. where did you read that this PRODUCED sound like a mini-synth?
