The people that are getting mad about this because it's in a "kid's film" are wrong. The wonderful thing about Pixar movies is that they are for every one. I'm turning 21 in a little over the month, and I cannot WAIT to get this one DVD in a few days. The only problem I have with this movie was that Rod didn't get any sort of tribute after his terrible end. I was 10 when I saw Cars. Being 15 now, I kinda liked the transition from a calm movie that takes place in Radiator Springs without any violence (except for that Chick guy being a jerk by hurting the King), to an all-around-the-world, guns galore Cars 2. I just liked how there was more Bond-like action in this movie.

@AlecBFlores because it was only about 50%, like at...about 1:21 before the "so what?" quote. he ended up getting hit at a 100%, which killed him. the other cars just got their engines busted, not permenantly but enough to make them retire from the race and show that allinol is unsafe. i guess that they needed to prove it was unsafe when lightning mcqueen continued to use it, so they had to kill him to prove it once and for all. besides, they had a reason to kill rod and mcqueen, not the others

The racers at Porto Corsa where shoted with just the 50% or 75% of the energy, getting hurt but not death. Finally, when McQueen uses the allinol for the last race in London, the Lemons shoted him with the 100% of the camera`s energy with the objetive of kill him (although he was actually using Fillmore`s fuel).

During end of production, Professor Z was originally gonna say "blast of radiation", but John Lasseter changed it to "electromagnetic pulse" to remove any references to radiation. He did this out of respect for Japan after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster that happened three months before the film's release.

1:32 I don't know if it's me, but that camera angle looks off to me. If you watch the bathroom scene, Mater makes that expression while he's blinking. So that surveillance freeze frame makes no sense. Plus, we would probably be able to see Grem's bumper reflection.
