There are many examples of things from the past which we can not explain, and some structures which we could not build to the precision which the ancients built them. The "2012" theroy is based on the Mayen calender. This calender ends on the year 2012 because they didnt know the world would last that long. But you see, our calenders end every year so this "2012" thing is just some rumor.

There are many examples of things from the past which we can not explain, and some structures which we could not build to the precision which the ancients built them. So who is to say they didn't know something about this time frame that we do not know?

I believe that the problem isn't whether or not the world is going to end in 2012. It's all the misinformation and people who stick to that misinformation as if it's fact.
I am religious as I spent my entire childhood in church, read the entire Holy Bible, and believe my own interpretations of what I have read.
But I am also a scientist, and as I scientist I cannot deny actual REAL facts.
My belief is that science and religion are both correct, and they are both wrong.

The "2012" theroy is based on the Mayen calender. This calender ends on the year 2012 because they didnt know the world would last that long. But you see, our calenders end every year so this "2012" thing is just some rumor.

My advice: stop worrying about these things. Half is made up by insane people, the other half ripped so badly out of context that it is just silly.
If you want to believe our generation is special, stick to the oldies. Odds are somewhere in the next 100 years, a nuclear war will start. Or biological weapons will spill. Or society falls apart when some resource runs out. Plenty of options, no special requirements. Doesn't have a date set, but hey, that just means it's a surprise! :)
