  • y is the top piston missing a screw??

    MechaniCards

São uma espécie de cartões postais com estruturas que se movimentam ao ser girada uma pequena manivela. Criados por Bradley N. Litwin, que publicou o vídeo abaixo para divulgá-los, os MechaniCards são vendidos em edições limitadas.

  • Combining artwork and kinetic sculptures. Nice!

  • Nearly thought it was a joke when I went to the website and seen the prices... People like this ruin a good hobby.

  • This is your hobby? What "kind of people" do you suppose I am? I think I am a very hard-working artist, who deserves fair compensation, quite frankly! -B

  • @BLitwin I'd like to retract anything insulting, I just don't see how laser cut pieces and premade metal rods all put together in a kit, could cost anywhere near $75. I do understand that everybody wants a profit, and you are indeed... an artist. But each kit must be like $10 or less in supplies. Also, yes. Papercraft and paper sculptures is a hobby.

  • Actually, very little is "pre-made." I make 99%, myself. Sure, the raw materials are inexpensive. But, I don't think you'd expect to buy a new car, for the $200 it's worth as scrap. I do wish they could be cheaper, so more folks could enjoy them. It's the difference between being a working artist, and pursuing a "hobby." -B

  • @BLitwin just to tell you. a new car isn't worth $200 of scrap metal. there is the engine, the windsheilds, body, motor, carborator, there is tons of things that make a car run. ESPECIALLY all of the wiring and mechanics and electronics in a new car. so dont say that.

  • Yes. A car's engine, body, etc. are worth little as raw material, but have had considerable resource put into making them objects of value. Similarly, MechaniCards have plenty of that same "added value." Workshops with laser cutters, helpers, and such, don't come cheaply. They do make it possible for one to buy my work for a relatively low price. I wish it could be less. C'est la vie.

  • @BLitwin As a working artist who is also interested in turning a profit for my work, I come down squarely on your side. I am very impressed with your level of ingenuity, your construction skills, & your visual taste. Not to mention that every point you have made is valid. I do not understand how what you do "ruins" a good hobby, as the first commentator in this thread claimed. How does what YOU do interfere with HIS/HER hobby at all? Your prices are quite reasonable for what you do.

  • The Yike-a-cycle is WAAOW. The song during its show too.

  • leuk film en een goed idee

  • You know, I think that radial engine one would really help to take the sting out of a Dear John letter. Something to think about, ladies...

  • @BLitwin

    Hi

I'd like to know which songs are exactly for the radial engine and for the ambigulator?

    Thanks

  • All the music in this video is from my second CD release, "You Rascal You," available on CDBaby

With "The Radial Engine" is "St. Louis Got Tickled," and "The Ambigulator" features "One Meatball."

  • where can i buy one for fathers day??

  • That is just a brilliant Idea!

  • @BLitwin Can you tell please, which singer performs Key To The Highway in your video? Thanks!

  • That would be me! All the music in this video is from my two albums, "You Rascal You" and "I'll Give You The Bus Money, Honey!" available on CDBaby com -B

  • @BLitwin Thank you) In search of the performer I listened all the artists singing this song, your voice is the best)

  • @lovethyneighboor

  • @SoundwaveZabuza So he`s a genious :) im not not american and im not so deep into all this.

  • Super!!!

  • amazing things! Mast be for lefthand destiners...

  • I have given some thought to making some left hand, or ambidextrous versions. I know it will be awkward for southpaws to do some of these.

  • Интересно такое писмо получить если ты в армейке или ещё где))

  • Does anyone know what "the Pismo to armeyke " means? Google's translation of this one is not so clear.

  • @BLitwin "the Pismo to armeyke " - letter when you in army!

  • @BLitwin letter to army

  • @BLitwin

it means -- you're in arm now... oh-oh-oh, you're in army now, army now...

  • @BLitwin, he means, it's fun to get such a letter, when you're in the army

  • @BLitwin, he means, it's fun to get such a letter, when you're in the army... or in some other place :D

  • @BLitwin

    письмо в армию

  • @BLitwin "it's interesting to get such a letter if you are in the army or smth like that."

  • @BLitwin It mean's: That will be funny to recieve this similar letter in army.

    But there other entertainment enough.

  • @BLitwin actually, he means that it might be very surprising to receive such postcard when attending regular army service. Applies to russian conditions :-)

By the way, your creations are indeed great.

  • @BLitwin in Armeyka means Russian Army, so the translation of the above is:

That would be awesome to get such a mail when you are in the army or somewhere else))

  • Your cards are very good.

Are you planning to release for sale drawings of these cards? It would save people from delivery. For Russia it is true.

It would be nice if in the postcards was a musical mechanism works together with the rotation of the handle. A few years ago in our country have been very popular musical greeting cards. What do you think about this idea?

  • @BLitwin I heard Ry Cooder playing this song, by the way. Who's an author?

  • The lyrics in the version I sing are from Hy Zarret and Lou Singer, written in the early 1940s. The arrangement is by myself and producer, Jon Cooper. The song was originally inspired by an earlier work, called "The Lone Fishball," written in the 1860s.
