  • I Adore this Song! Ray this is for you, in Heaven! Love you forever My Darling, Your Baby GIGI

  • NO one "belongs" to anyone else. Slavery has been abolished. There were never any leashes and collars in my world. And yes, jealousy denies freedom and is counter productive as well as destructive. Freedom is precious and a God given right.

  • @nora4111

Everyone else has commented how great is this song and how better and simpler were the times back then...and you come out with this shit....man your sad...very sad.

  • @nora4111 Oh Nora, I don't think it was meant to be literal. Go take your politics to a politics video.

  • this song is so romantic and i love 50s music!

  • Pure Magic

  • @1ED2DD that's so wonderful. i really wish you all the best and i hope something that lovely will happen to me.

  • GREAT SONG, but junk video, wish I was there to film it RIGHT!

  • Recalling the echo chamber--reverberations inside the fire Station i was assigned

  • thanks, i was lucky to meet her and more lucky to marry her, she's cool and i hope the best for you too.

  • I'm a fan of the songs of that era too - from the 50's when I was a teenager. But, if truth be told, I never really fit in. I was, after all, an intellectual, and people stayed away from me like I was the plague. Funny thing is, I'm still an intellectual lo these 50 years since....and I still don't fit in. (PS...not fitting in never really bothered me...in fact I used to and still relish it).

  • im 68 and loved that era , your very lucky to still be together , it was a wonderful time

  • Just so you all know I as a lady in her 80's loved this kind of music growing up too and still love to listen to it.........Never leaves your mind I guess......Enjoy!!!!

  • I love it !

  • Duprees Another Great Group Great Sound Great Memories

  • I know no one will believe me but my Mother dated one of these guys way way back in the day. . . for a short time. . . we lived in Kearny New Jersey by Newark & NY City. . his name was Joey Santolo . . . I am 42 now but damn I still love their song's and oldies ! ! !

  • Anyone want to dance?

  • Well, MiaVitaBella, I was born in 1949, so this song, like 1ED2DD, is right up our alley.

  • This lead singer, Joe Vann (Canzano) died in 1984. The current Duprees have no original members. Only two are still alive.

  • Is this the original version? Niiiiiiice!

  • Hey fella's remember listening parties when a new album came out getting some of the gang together to listen to all the tracks, look at the album art.. man those were the days!!!

  • Met my girl at my high school locker, i needed a date for the valentines ball, i was 16 and so was she... that was in 79, we are still together, next year will be 30 yrs married our song is Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers (WAY BEFORE) the movie Ghost came out... This music set the stage for the 60's and 70's back when musicians had talent and guitars/drums/bass not computer loops!!!

  • it has been a good life

  • 65... here...what a great time in our lives.... blessings to churchboy here...

  • my grandpops gonna go nuts

  • This version is better than Jo Staffords

  • These guys are having so much fun.

  • Mike Kelly is singing. He took over when Joey Canzano (Vann) died. The rest are just imitators.

  • Really lovely ---- a million memories.

  • I prefer Jim Reeves version but still this is nice!

  • go to " yachbez" and u will have fun ..

  • my wedding song... someday when i get married :')

  • OMG! I Loved the Duprees! I always played this song, and sang it. Loved it my Favorite! Thanks so much! There will never be another group like them, and the other Great groups of the 50's and 60's, all Awesome! GIGI

  • These guys r cute...:)...lik da song

  • I only know this song because of Mary Higgins Clark. Good song though, and fantastic book!

  • i tried looking up for this original lineup of the duprees and its always different :c

  • @TheGabz13 On the stool is Mike Kelly, moving down, is Mike Arnone, then Joe Santollo, then John Salvato. This is 1962 and Mike Kelly is lip-synching to the recording of Joey Vann the original lead singer of the Duprees.

  • Oldies rule! Thanks ma for making me a fan of the best music of mankind, I love my classic rock, reggae, and even disco and punk, but nothing tops the doo wop days and it's music..

  • Im only 27. I grew up on punk but I can't deny this was a better era in all ways including music. So sad its gone n replaced by rap

  • This is the music that I was very fortunate to grow up with. Life had problems back then but nothing like we have to deal with today. I wish all young people could have had that environment to be raised in.

  • this was when music was actually music.

  • bored to death

  • Mike Kelly has his own version of "You Belong To Me" on the Heritage label, it is really terrific! I much prefer it! You should also listen to him sing "This Land Is Mine" (Exodus). What a voice!!

  • I wasn't even around when this song came out, but I feel nostalgic for some reason.

  • Wow,Good info.. so the guy in the video is Mike Kelly and not the original recorded vocalist Joey Vann. I wonder why Vann was not in this video? Maybe he was ill or they had a falling out.

  • @wienerline Have more info on Mike Kelly but reluctant to post as it may not be well received by the Kelly clan, and I would not want to hurt MK's feelings....He is recovering from an 'illness' right now....

  • Here I am in my 1955 Chevy 3 speed, with Hurst shifter, 283 V8 getting gears on my way to pick up my Girl. It has a 1961 chevy steering wheel and buick tail ights and it is an awsome machine, with crager mags!

  • Who else was born in the wrong era? I know I was

  • @MiaVitaBella I tell myself that all the time >.<

  • @MiaVitaBella No missy, you have to make foot prints in your own era so that your kids can remember your time. Oldies are great but so are lots of the music that came after.

  • @NenaGoodluck Oh, "Missy" That's just an expression. Meaning, I love oldies a lot more than the music coming out now :)

  • @MiaVitaBella not me i am 61,my older sister tought me to dance to music like this.

  • @MiaVitaBella i cant agree more im a greaser i love 50s music and love my country...im only 14 and i wish it was the 50s but half of my school dosent know anything about then.they like todays crapy music

  • @MiaVitaBella Tell me about it....

  • @MiaVitaBella me too!!!!!!!!!! :/

  • @MiaVitaBella Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MiaVitaBella

I can't agree with you more than you said it!

  • @MiaVitaBella I wa s born in 1962 and that was still too late for me

  • @MiaVitaBella this guy was!

  • @MiaVitaBella

    Me too

  • @MiaVitaBella You got that right, same here!

  • if you ever wondered why so many babies were born in the late 50s and early 60s just listen to this music

  • @icebreakersist And back then, people were true to their lovers too. Remember, it wasn't only the music that was better. It was everything; the people were nice, the cars were better, etc. Even the world was a better place. I only wish I could have lived in that time.

  • When Mike took over from Joey, nothing was missed. Both are incredible.

  • No words can express,Tell your Dad thank you.

  • THis is my favorite version of this classic song!!!!!!!!

  • the song you be long to me by talyor swift is a remix of this song

  • Amazing how to see how popular my Dad was back then (and still is). On the other hand, it's sad to see how the current clowns (parading around as the Duprees) are reaping all the benefits from the foundation laid over 40 years ago. A shame that Mike Arnone didn't communicate with John Salvato, Joe Santollo and my Dad (Mike Kelly). They (collectively) should be the ones with a controlling interest in the group..not Testa. It really is sad. (over 1 million views)

  • @LaffsOnTheHarbor ABSOLUTELY!!!! Your dad was and is still very popular. He was very handsome with a tremendous voice. Love this video and watch it as much as possible.

  • @MyMimig Except this is not Mike Kelly singing, he is lip-synching, to Joey Vann....But he did/does? have a terrific voice..!!

  • @LaffsOnTheHarbor

I think at least half of those million views 'belong to me'. :)

  • It was NOT in color. It's from the 50's. Not really any color cameras at that time. If u have color version then its remastered.

  • @jolover12 This was actually 1962!

  • this clip is not supposed to be in color becausethe camera that film this was not the type of camera that films videos in color

  • this clip is supposed to be in color.

I have about 10 or so seconds of it in it's original color form.

  • Beautiful , brings back great memories . Still love Vera Lynn's version .

  • Its Jimmy Fallon!

  • i was there. steele65

  • --Timeless Classic.

  • A nice fall evening in Central Jersey parked alongside the canal running the kength of the Black Horse Pike. Sandy in my arms with this particular song playing on the radio. Oh what a night shouldv'e been the next disk to be played as it sure was one I'll never forget.

  • im crying and i have a manly beard :(

  • ...just remember darling, darling, all the while

    you belong to me :)♫♥.....

  • @MrKrazykev13

    dude go home lol

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 you fucken dumbass i am home

  • Mike Kelly lip syncing the lead of Chubby Canzano on the original recording of The Duprees on COED in 1962.

  • There used to be some footage on youtube or google video with The Duprees sitting in a tv-show doing an a-capella song. I LOVED THAT!!! where did it go? Anyone here who has it and wants to upload it?? PLEASE??

  • They don't make them like this anymore

  • the lead singer is fine! was fine!

  • if a better love song has ever been recorded, i never heard it...as perfect a song as you will ever hear..

  • @skontch1 All Day Music by War and Oh What A Night by the Dells -- they tie with this song.

  • @redfordforpresident ..they're also 2 great love songs red, no arguement here. i like the you belong to me better, but hey, that's what makes the world go 'round...

  • ITS JIMMY FALLON!!!

  • the skyliners

  • This my favorite version of this song. Absolutely classic!!!!!!!

  • goosebumps

  • I wasn't born in the wrong generation, most of my generation is just musically/talent impaired.

  • @raulciprianoyahoo I like that, very profound...and very true..

  • If I wasnt black I'd love to live back then, such such good music by both white and black.

  • @Jayeye95 You could live nextdoor to me any time. my next life I'm comming as a great singer

  • What happened to music like this?

  • Is that a rug on the guy @ 1:02?

  • the leed singer had a great voice and waS A GOOD LOKING IT SO SAD THAT WE ALL HAVE TO GET OLD AND LEAVE YHIS WORLD GOD HAS OTHER PLANS FOR US

  • 15 years old and absolutely love this genre of music <3

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 Fourteen. Ha; I win. Do I get a cookie? I hope I get a cookie.

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 no one cares

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 better as Bieber's bullshit ;)

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 ha im just a year younger, 14! :D

  • @CHURCHBOY0912 , i'm 67 and love it too, i danced with my girl friend to this song at 15 and married her at 18 and we are still married.

  • @1ED2DD ur so lucky..wat was it like living in the 60s lol i wish i knew

  • @1ED2DD sir your comment just gave me goosebumps.. i wish everyone get to end up just like your marriage, fuck divorce.

  • @1ED2DD

    Good for you!

    And her!

  • @1ED2DD You are a lucky man, i hope you know that !

  • @1ED2DD Hell yah. Awesome.

  • @1ED2DD

That is so wonderful sir. Congratulations. Maybe one day, I will find the love of my life too.

  • @1ED2DD Are you my father? Seriously, my Mom and Dad (67&65) danced to this in Philly and they have been married ever since. I grew up listening to this type of music and haven't stopped. I am 46. Glad to see some people still believe in marriage one time. Eric

  • @TheEnabler23 I'm probably not your father, my wife & i are from Mountain View, Ca. I thank God everyday that i met and married my high school sweetheart on 7-3-64 and we have two great kids a son 45 and a daughter 40.

  • @1ED2DD I know, it was rhetorical. My parents are still married and are from Philadelphia.

  • @TheEnabler23 That's cool, i would to come to Philadelphia some day, thanks for the reply, Ed

  • Wonderful song, so evocative that it makes a time before I was even born come within reaching distance.

I can picture this being played in a quiet diner in the early 60's - all the beautiful old cars parked outside - lovely demure girls quietly talking - newspapers being read - a kindly cop draining the last of his coffee - a slower pace of life - more innocent times.

    .

  • @Azure701 50's

  • @Sointula2 This version came out in 60's', but yes the original did come out in the 50's and it's fair to say even this version has more of a 50's feel to it.

  • @Azure701 Nice sentiment (I was there), wonderfully evocative writing.

  • @Azure701 I love the imagery, but have to disagree about 'more innocent times'. Have you watched mad men?!

  • @lysjanvier I know there was a seamy underside to all the innocence, but I think on the surface at least it was a more refined and respectful time. I've only seen a bit of Mad Men but enough to see your point about innocent times, heh.

    .

  • @Azure701 I am 64, and I still sing, I still remember the words, now that is scarey

  • @Azure701 Have you been reading my mind? I was thinking the exact same thing.

  • I was in grammar school when this was released.

I still love this song and its meaning.

Truly one of the best creations of the music industry.

  • Thirteen and in love with this song.

  • @hsmchick28 no worries...I fell in love with this song when I was 15....I'm 49 now.

  • u were the hard one not me

    the times make the music

the music quit when she left me.

  • Do the times make the music-or the music make the times? This is real music no matter when you were born.

  • Another great group from Jersey City, NJ.

  • real! music and talent i wasn't even born yet my favorite era the fifties

  • Thank you Flat Duo Jets for introducing me to this music!

  • totally amazing

    mikey xxx

  • damn oldies are the best...

  • absolutely lovely!

  • So freakin' great, cannot get song out of my mind.

Gee could it be the singer? Ya think?

Good luck in court Michael Kelly on getting the Duprees trademark you and other members so richly deserve.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded

  • @rahlgren Actually this is a Jo Stafford... good though and it's this version that is remembered...

  • Lovely lyrics...fly the ocean in a silver plane...see the jungle when it's wet with rain...just gorgeous.

  • the lead singer is very handsome, great teeth

  • All the guys in a dark room. Never enough girls. But you did your best to attract one to grind with. This was one of the songs that made it happen. It was in LA for me. I am 58 now. Didn't get married until 39 :) Still married to the one I married. I wish sweetness to all who remember.

  • Ye gotta love it! Simply put, th boys from Jersey City! Yeeah, myself born on 346 Paterson Plank Rd. But ya gotta say it like da oldtimers used to -- JOISEY CITY!

  • I am 64,and always loved to dance. In NYC,Friday Nite Dance at Rhinelander's C.A.S.(Childrens Aid Society ),25cents and your in.Blue swede shoes,or Pat Boon white bucks were worn by a few.Not me,Tom McKan pointy black shoes with the double buckle, and the thin soles that wore out in 2 weeks.Good "dancin kicks".I went with many girls,we were friends, made out with some, but friends, they all wanted me,anyway. And the "slow dances" "The figure 8",and "The Grind",yup, sweaty arm pits to the bone, home.

  • awesome

  • AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE WORDS!

  • @TEAKMAN1 That is the best part about oldies is that every word can be understood and they were not cuss words not words that glorified rape and violence. It is sad that music of today has come to this sad situation.

  • Always reminds me of slow dancing with my first love in 1961ish!!

  • jo stafford's version is the best

  • this song was a hit ( #1 ) the year i Was born

  • what a true classiic, the best of the best...history will always remember this version, sung as if by angels

  • dylan's version is the best

  • I'm 15 and i was born in the wrong era :(

  • bengraven one of the most beautiful and meaningful songs i`ve ever herd in my life. be sure to tell you`re wife every morning and night how much you LOVE her and i promise you`re love will never fade. Ron

  • I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for there caring and thoughtful comments. i know its been over three years since she has gone and i`ve been told time heals all wounds , it helps but it sure does not in any way repair the heart. it is easier though and maybe some day the hole will close. thank you all very much.....Ron

  • @backbeatone

Ummm, you're not correct. He is not half white and black. I should know.. I'm his son

  • @LaffsOnTheHarbor

Are you Mike Kelly's son, and is he on facebook, we cannot find him? tks.

  • @60LAP

Yes, he's still around. He's doing well

  • At least my wife gets it--she belongs to me, I belong to her, and we both belong to our dog, Tori! Unlike some, my wife knows the score. I definitely sent her a tape of "You're the One that I Love," by the Vogues during a 6-month separation we had to endure. never sent her this song, didn't have it and radio didn't play it.

  • I can relate

  • wow, this is a TERRIBLE cover of a Michael Buble song

  • Im 16, this is my grandparents wedding song. I honestly get chills every time i hear this song.

  • I wanna hear songs like these on the radio .

    <333 Laid Back .

    Not caring about money

    but LOVE .

    TRUE LOVE <3

    God Bless.

  • Love the song <3

  • I, too am 64, and the two guys I dated in high school graduated in 1964. I love this song - brings back memories of all of the wonderful, innocent things being a teen in the 60's was all about. Sadly, both are gone - I married one for ten years, but eventually divorced.

  • @ElderVince salut man

  • I'm 57 and can relate to " emmyhizer" my wife and I were boyfriend and girlfriend at 15,we married at 18. She is everything to me and a day does not go by with one of us telling the other "I love you". Lord willing, we still have many more years together. Elder Vince
