Despite a previous komment someone left, Samuel Griffin is the still the best band director in the S.W.A.C. If you want to see a "ghettofied strip show/video" with gimmicks at halftime, then go check join one of those other bands.
@nubiennesoul Dude Alcorn has ben playing this since FOREVER!! Way before KSU! MAYBE the reason that KSU plays it is because their band director was an assistant at Alcorn before he came to KSU..This is a theme song for Alcorn! KSU is a day late and a dollar short....
@catergory3kane yeah umm... your attitude is a day late and a dollar short. I wrote that 9 MONTHS AGO. On the other hand, don't act like you composed the shit. The majority of HBCU marching bands plays the sames songs, SOME are composed different. Quickie isn't just at Alcorn my guy. Chill.
actually to be honest, none of the years that you all are talking about was good....alcorn start losing who they were back in the later 90's like 96-97 and from then on it have gone down hill from there. Alcorn was the stuff back in the 80's and early 90's. So I guess because I was there back then I have alot to compare to. And the truth is the band is looking embarassing now. They have lost their pride, but I hope the alumni will come in and help them get that back to that ASU Pride.
Not really. Alcorn has been a little inconsistent over the past few years, but the 90's were more of a dominating decade for the Sounds. To be honest, 99 was no joke. There is a post on youtube from 99, take a look!!
I totally agree. I feel like if they got rid of Griff, the band director, the band could reach the same heights as it used to in the 90s. I went to alcorn. The band has passion and want to actually be "A band". But Griff won't alow them to do shit. He has lost his pride as a band director.
i honestly will say Alcorn is the only one that focus on doin' that a lot in the stands and i dig it a lot! they the shit to me when it come to that. otha schools that do it some... a lil... and some more than othas are JSU, Mississippi Valley, i thinik lincoln and UAPB but it aint that many. I seen Alcorn do it the most and actually show out a lot in the stands
but what i am saying is thir band had that energy dancers they had enegy they drummajors was good. they looked good, u just dont see that from them anymore
but 04 was there most energy had a little bobbels wit the music but u can tell they were crabin now that there is no such thing as a white shirt to that band its not the same
why is there only 3 drummajors... they are known as the fantastic four so what is it now the terrific three........ Is it true that Griff isn't band director anymore....
WOW, i was shock, because is not the oldest band director in the swac ,but he is the longest band director of the same school 30 something years.. So u sure he is still there.
The current GGs are not as clean as these... I love these GGs...
