McLean wrote “Vincent” in his apartment full of antiques. The inspiration came to him one morning while he was sitting on the veranda looking at a book about Vincent Van Gogh. As he studied a print of Van Gogh’s painting “Starry Night,” he realized that a song could be written about the artist through the painting.

Absolutely spectacular talent . . . I'm quite familiar with earlier versions of the song "Vincent", but have never heard such as Joanna delivers here. Could not possibly be performed any better, as close to perfection as it can be. Never heard of Joanna Wang before, just happened upon this by accident, but I will be listening to more of her from now on. Well done!!!
