The first was pretty good, actually the best dragon based movie to date IMHO, but alas the books are much better and the storyline is always a little different. I hope for a second one.
The first movie was bad but however they can always make it up in the second movie. That would be a fine deal since the second book is probably my favourite. If anyone agrees or even reads this, please post your thoughts on this. I just want who ever has the power to start something that can snowball this into what most want, the movie.

I think the second movie must be made and with a higher budget then the previous film and the information from the first film that was missed, to be encounter into the next, all you people that are complaining must get over it I'm sure that if you haven't read the book you would never be complaining about the film. The idea of a remake is far fetched and unlikely... but I still think it can be done.
Whoever saw the book will obviously dislike this movie, I have never seen the book and I think it's a great movie, but If I saw the book, I would probably think the book sucks because I saw the movie first.

I did like the movie, but I had to whatch it thinking it was a different story because it lacked a whole lot of relevant story from the book and the characters... well i guess it's a personal issue but I feel they got them wrong.. Especially Arya. And the battle between Eragon and Durza not at all as described.

How was the movie bad...? The acting was fine, a few funny parts, the girl looks hot, it has great looking dragon action sequences in it. AND they leave it wide open for the next movie. One of my favorite movies I own!

Personally, I thought the decision to make Eragon a few years older was one of the few changes that made SOME sense. For one thing, they would need a young actor to do a ton of dangerous things for simple action sequences. For another thing, I always had trouble buying the "16-year-old-master-warriar" thing from the books, magic or no magic.
To say making him older is "way off" is, in my opinion, casting your scorn in the wrong direction. (I don't care about his hair either...)
@misscharmedwitch the reason its horrible is because of how many diffreneces they made to the movie and everyone who read the books would notice way too many diffrences and also that it left many details out making the movie very empty

How was the movie bad...? The acting was fine, a few funny parts, the girl looks hot, it has great looking dragon action sequences in it. AND they leave it wide open for the next movie. One of my favorite movies I own!

I found the movie and insult to the book! My friend, whom never read the book, found the movie boring and a waste of time. Why the director decided to make the movie like this is beyond me....but I will forever stay by the book. I think the only thing about the movie I liked was the CGI Saphira. She looked amazing!!! (although I would have changed her wings so they werent feather) but the movie was a fucking insult....

@crypto6 Right on. I read the book and is a big book worm, even writing my own book. I find it a big insult to the author. I am baffled in how the author had let this happened because the person whom made the movie has wrecked it so bad that it would be impossible to make the other two. If it was my books and someone tried to twist the story like that I would sue them.

I think the books were better, i think they left some important persons out of the movie, like jeod, and they made too many differences. It was a sad movie if u compare it with the books. Still I liked the movie it was fun to watch, but the books are way more detailed. Also i noticed Arya didnt look like an elf to me, which i thought was sad cuz how hard is itto give her some pointy ears etc.

Personally, I thought the decision to make Eragon a few years older was one of the few changes that made SOME sense. For one thing, they would need a young actor to do a ton of dangerous things for simple action sequences. For another thing, I always had trouble buying the "16-year-old-master-warriar" thing from the books, magic or no magic.
To say making him older is "way off" is, in my opinion, casting your scorn in the wrong direction. (I don't care about his hair either...)

If you don't agree with me, then you should really start reading some real Fantasy- Tolkien or King or Erikson, Hell-Rowling is great!!
Eragon makes no sense at all. I've read the book and Personally, I think the only sensible character is the so-called villain, Galbatrix or whatever.
