  • 4skins not racist. not anti-racist. why should they be? not their beef.

    4skins message is simple

    - police wankers

    - politician wankers

    - other wankers

    - football

    not racism

  • it's about class warfare...

  • I've got the 7" single version of this up in the attack and the picture cover is a picture of a crowd of toffs from Royal Ascot in penguin suits and top hats, so I've always assumed it was about the British class system.

  • Hitler wore pants! Anyone who wears pants is a NAZI!

  • When I was Skinhead (White Power Skinhead) I also used to listen to 4Skins and Cockney Rejects

  • @rockerneum white power skins also listen to agnostic front, not realizing they have a cuban vocalist.

  • @rockerneum cool story, bro

  • who is 'them' and who is 'us' in this song? And is the rivers of blood reference a jab at the undoubted ridiculousness and utter fucking stupidity of that speech, or is it in praise of it?

  • @OtherSideOfTheVoid enoch was right - this past weekend has proved that

  • if this song is racist would it be covered by the oppressed

  • @maljcik69 Exactly! Not that these shit for brained boneheads would know anything about The Oppressed.

  • "we've been warned of rivers of blood, see the trickle before the flood" if you dont understand what that means, you dont understand oi!

  • Comment removed

  • This song is about "class." If you don't understand the concept of class or do not believe it exists, then get educated and act.

  • Oi! from hungary

  • I personnally ever think that being a skinhead is about fighting social inequalities and higher classes, and not about fighting immigrants who got the same problems and the same life as us (even worse maybe).

  • Who is "them"?

  • Racist?? Classist definitely!! Hoxton tom would put you straight on that!

  • what if it is racist dont you think most of us old skins are i am for sure and i live in fucking bradford.....

  • A great English group singing a great song, long live the ''4-skins'' :-)

  • why do the dickheads always assume if you're a skinhead or love Oi! that you are thick and a racist? They should educate themselves before they start to preach.Or they could just fuck off and die and leave us in peace to enjoy our lives!

  • Tom McCourt was on Channel 4 news as a spokesman for Hackney council when those two kids were mauled by a fox last year. Fucking eyes popped out my head and creased up laughing when I saw that. I thought he was going to head out in a Crombie and whack the thing with a pool cue.

  • skinead, skinead over there

whats it like to have no hair

two black eyes and a broken nose

thats the way the aggro goes.

  • @porridgeeveryday

    hahahahaha OI!

  • hearts gone cold! never broken!

  • This is skinhead at it's best. A song for the working class that sweats and bleeds for an outdated system. The haves and havenots. The gentry sit on the hill and dictate policy and the working class lay down their lives to uphold the status quo.

Wake up people. It's time for a change. That's what this song is all about.

  • its not about race, its about the coppers getting away with bullshit like beating us up!

  • @IsvaraJahYoga We've been warned of rivers of blood... are you people fucking deaf?

  • one law for them one law for us

  • It is a song about class and authority.

  • Talking about how come when skinheads go to a footie match they get detained, and while the colored riot in ghettos, the guilty go free and the innocents hurt.

" Rivers of blood" is a quote attributed to an anti-immigrant speech in Parliament in 1969. Apparantly England has ignored the trickle nows the flood.

The part about coppers is funny.

This song isnt racist, its anti-largescale immigration though, as is most nationalist oi from that period (Combat 84)

  • @pakiskinhead Your so wrong, it isnt a race song as you portray it and has nothing to do with Enoch Powell who made that speech (for which he recanted when race war didnt happen) 25 years before this song was written.

What 'flood'? there is no flowing of blood from race wars in Britain today, the last 'race' war (if you could call it that) was Mosleys orchestrated Notting hill 'white riot' in 1956.

  • @dortyhoor

rivers of blood refers to the tiber in ancient rome, not a literal flood of blood but a drmatic increase in rape and violent crime, and the marginalisation of indigenous culture. thats not something that is happening, its already happened.

  • @ThomasRowsell I know what it means and I know the context Enoch Powell used it in, he was using that to describe his idea of a future multi racial Britain (which is ironic sinse we are a mongrel race here anyway, with mixed blood going back to before the Romans came with their mixed African, Arab, Mongol, Italian etc.army, administrators and so on.).

  • @dortyhoor

you are certainly well versed in BBC history. To concept of mongrol race is a political one rather than scientific. The majority of brits have the same blood they did before roman invasion, even with the added germanic influence of vikings, saxons and normans. we are entirely northern european. we are no more mongrel than any other nation.

  • @ThomasRowsell I thought of the 'mongrol race' thing myself, so the BBC use it as well eh? ooh, aint I smart. I have no axe to grind politically on this one and was referring to the influx thats been going on for over 2000 years that has left its mark. How much, is a pedantic argument because it is there Sinse before the Romans people have been coming here, staying and breeding I agree with the last aprt though, much of Europe isnt 'pure' blood either.

    Inbred Royals aside!

  • @dortyhoor Racial politics are bollocks anyway... I'm goddamn proud of my nation's culture, Races have been mixing since the birth of mankind, but mixing cultures always causes trouble. The youths grow up in a mixed culture with both different values, now this youth will always use the freedoms that both cultures offer and reject the moral duties that come with it, that's what fucks up our European societies. Small minorities could adapt our cultures easily, but they aren't minorities anymore!

  • @ThomasRowsell BBC history? hoho. a cheap shot that is way off target. I only watch BBC documentaries for a laugh to see how biased they are. My views come from reading history from as many different viewpoints as possible. Not just the vicrors or the axe to grind 'truths'. Unlike some.

  • @pakiskinhead paki skinhead an oxymoron.. lol also the mass immigration by YOUR people that turn the place into a 3rd world do not enter zone.. when they speak of Asian I know it aint chinese it is YOU so colored my ass..you are referencing black people and I know it .. it is your people that harass and pimp UK girls and the muslim scourge that seeks to usurp the humane way of life with your sharia bullshit and Retarded protests calling for anyones head that offends you in the slightest..STFU

  • @pakiskinhead GEERT WILDERS DOESNT TALK ABOUT COLORED HE TALKS ABOUT YOU

  • @guapgueezee

please leave that idiot out of this. I have to listen to his bullshit enough over here in Holland. The guys an asswipe that spits venom that the small minded masses wants to hear. He believes none of what he says and when questioned has no answer to the 'problems' that he highlights.

  • @pakiskinhead You must break a lot of mirrors

  • i personally dont give a rats ass about fighting for or against rascism, all I say is Fuck All I Love The 4 Skins

  • For all you daft arses, rivers of blood, enoch powell... this songs about race, and the way the system treats it.

  • how gay - where's the fuckin' solo?

  • @Reptile61 Was'nt this version with Roi' from the Last Resort singing?

  • @ sidgenocid: this isn't a racist song at all. it's just about the state of the country (U.K) at the time...The 4 Skins were not a racist band what so ever.Yes they had mindless boneheads who went to their gigs, but you also got the same idiots at Madness gigs in the early days & even later on... Well done for putting the best 4 Skins song up by the way.

  • ROCK AGAINST POLITICS WAYS.... FREEDOM OF SPEECH... JUST SKINHEAD!!! FUCK THEM ALL... C'MON KIDS... UNITED

  • this song has more significance than ever in 21st century britain. the legislative divide between them and us is obvious, yet some refuse to see it

  • If you think that this song is racist please provide some sort of evidence. If it indeed proves to be another racist skinhead song I'll take it down. If not just enjoy it.

  • @sidgenocid See Enoch Powell, Rivers of Blood...

  • @sidgenocid

what......are u fucking retarded these guys are Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice

  • @ThaddeusMaximus909 This song is obviously about race. The second verse is about Enoch Powell's "Rivers of Blood" speech about how immigration will cause violence, crime, and unemployment. The whole fucking song is the 4-skins saying they've heard the speech, that there is already violence from multi culturalism which is getting worse, and the police let off violent non white criminals but arrest whites. The line about no homes or jobs is them blaming immigrants for the recession in britain.

  • @whitetrashoutlaw You're a fu**ing racist, just look at your nickname to start with. It is obvious you are the trash of humanity, irrelevant of your skin colour, race or creed. You need a good Doc Marten to your head.

  • @seminyak696969 You obviously aren't very intelligent and I highly doubt you'd have the balls to say that in person. Making threats doesn't win arguments. The song IS racist. There are just too many references to race issues in the song for it to be a coincidence. If you knew the history of racism in england after WW2 you'd know that.

  • @whitetrashoutlaw Look at your nickname you half witted imbecile. "I wouldn't say it in person"? How laughable? Great threat from a lowlife. Who is making threats?

It isn't a racist song. Now go find some other board to post your garbage on you plonker.

  • @seminyak696969 I might be a lowlife but atleast I can understand the song and it's political context, unlike you. Regardless of what my username is, what I've said is 100% accurate. You can't offer any counter argument to what I've said because there isn't one, I'm right, you're an idiot and that's it. How about you google "rivers of blood speech" and "london race riots 1980's" and then look at the lyrics.

Oh and by the way, racists usually hate the term "white trash".

  • Comment removed

  • @whitetrashoutlaw No you DON"T understand the song at all. You are saying it's racist, show me one verse that is racist you f*cking tool. You're obviously a moron and a loony from the left side of politics. Go and find some other song to post your bullsh*t on you di**head, and whilst you're at it you RACIST, why don't you attend to your fu**ing RACIST nickname. "Regardless of my nickname" hahahaha YOU'RE the RACIST, it is aptly indicated by your nickname. Now go away you tool. IDIOT!

  • Comment removed

  • @whitetrashoutlaw "This song is obviously about race" hahaYou say the 2nd verse is about Enoch Powell's speech. PROVE IT! If you can't then shut the fu** up and go away. It's all very well for you to interpret anything in a song, but you cannot PROVE anything. You are devoid of facts and substance. If you can PROVE it's racist, as the owner of the site said he will take it down. FACT is you can't, cause you are just a moron.

  • @seminyak696969 The band has so many links to white power theres no point in even arguing, their guitarist was in Skrewdriver on the Blood and Honour LP, they have toured with Indecent Exposure who are a racist band, they say racial slurs in interviews, there have been race riots at their shows, they appeared on a comp with Nicky Crane on the cover. This song uses the phrase Rivers of Blood, the title of the most well known white power speech in post WW2 britain. The band is obviously racist!

  • @whitetrashoutlaw The only racial slur I've heard them use is "Paki" but it's important to note that in the 70's and early 80's, that was quite common amongst the working class... The fact that their guitarist played in Skrewdriver doesn't mean much, as The 4-Skins also did stuff with The Oppressed, a lefty skinhead band, they may have just liked the music.

  • @whitetrashoutlaw who cares what think ur usename says it all bellend

  • @whitetrashoutlaw Who cares what u think ur usename says it all prick and yer White power

  • @deandanchelsea

    You're an idiot.

  • @whitetrashoutlaw They are not a racist band however this particular song has a slight tendency. Before all else it's primarily about anger and unrest. They were kids trying to find a quick fix for problems that they had no control over. I'm not saying that they didn't have any prejudices but most people forget that it was a struggle for most oi bands at that time to not follow the heard, but if you listen to the whole album you'll find that they were not racist. Xenophobia maybe but not racism.

  • @xxxtobyx3 Not to follow the herd? Oi was the shout of their sheperd, the skin herd.

the songs about the British class system also.

  • @sidgenocid

No need to take it down, Youtube is full of racist, anti-white, offensive songs by black rappers. As long as they are allowed to be here, everyone can just STFU.

  • Comment removed

  • @sidgenocid The 4-Skins were on the front lines fighting against racists. So you wont find anything that will take this great song down.

  • @mosetheboweryboy Ive got that old interview about the southall riots when Hodges says "it was the Paki's fault, they just wanted their bit of fun". Thats not the most enlightened viewpoint, but a lack of an education is no crime.

They were not National Socialists though, they (or at least Hodges, rockabilly steve hides his face when that is said) just didnt like Asians.

  • @sidgenocid I know it isnt racist, its about the British class system.

  • Comment removed

  • @sidgenocid No fucking way! Keep this up. Fuck the ignorants

  • @sidgenocid

"We've been warned of rivers of blood

See the trickle before the flood

Pretend nothing happened, make no fuss

One law for them, One for us"

If you think Enoch Powell was a racist then you could interpret this verse as racist... if not.. just enjoy the song

  • @sidgenocid THIS SONG IS NOT RACIST whoever said that makes me wonder whats on THEIR mind

    -miss mulatto

  • @guapgueezee

We've been warned of rivers of blood

See the trickle before the flood

Pretend nothing happened, make no fuss

One law for them, One for us

    learn what that means

  • this song is about class not colour ! the well off get off because they scratch the right backs .

  • @sidgenocid i dont understand why should this be a racist song?

  • @sidgenocid wow, it thought this was one law for them as in upper class being able to buy their way out of all the shit they do.

@Mr5am50n because us americans have done a great job at staining the name, but some of us still remember the struggle....

  • @sidgenocid 4 skins are S.H.A.R.P. dude. Not white power.

  • @pokey3697 sharp is new york. east end of london has nothing to do with sharp

  • @pokey3697 so how did one of them end up in screwdriver you fuckin' idiot. this song is a tribute to enoch powel

  • @pokey3697 ahaahah

  • @pokey3697 there was no such thing as s.h.a.r.p when this band was around.

  • @pokey3697 they were not sharp, sharp dosent exsist in britain and wasnt around in the early 80s. in britain skinheads were skinheads there wasnt different types, either you were racist or you wernt, the 4 skins never said they were racist

  • @sidgenocid listen to it and judge for yourself - make that the evidence.

the songs about southall - being framed as racist, nearly getting killed by huge asian riot as a result and police doing nothing and not arresting anyone. One law for them, one for us.

this is a WTF? song - 'im not racist- but these cunts nearly killed us'

Note there's no reference to asians and no racist language anywhere - the rivers of blood line is an ironic reference to their supposed racism - not an endorsement

  • Comment removed

  • StormSaxonUK is right ,this song is about RACE!!!!

  • @Obergefreiter1

    whatever, r-tard. farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt.

  • umm if u where a real skin head you would be poor man in england standing on the sidewalk looking for work...the 4-skins XD one law for them and another one for us

  • im not a sharp im a real skinhead but its not bout that its abouit the rich and the poor

  • Trust me, it's about the Brixton and Toxteth 'race' riots, the rich and poor myth that you imply was started by the record company to ensure the record wasn't banned and affect the sales.

  • yeah i figured it out

me uncle was at those riots with a few skins and he said it was white and black versus pakis

  • nig-nog's get into 21st century mate!

  • whichever you look at the situation we are all oppressed by the system whether it be by fascism nazism thatcherism as the song goes one law for them keep up the fight lads and lasses

  • it is more talking anout the diffrecne between working and upper class not skin colour becoz these guys were opposed to facsim

  • you idiots...

  • temazo de los 4 skins lastima que la gente piense que son nazis.... u.u

  • wish all the 4skins stuff sounded like this

  • Shit I love this ERA of kick ass music!!!

  • @Oulatek Nowadays there isn't that much more to kick against. All asses like Thatcher's ass have gone away, for the last fucking 20 years things have gone just too great, communism actually did fuck off, liberals moved leftwards so socialism had no use anymore. For the last years you could only find something to fight for by being radical left or radical right. Hooligans got banned everywhere, so that's also not the same anymore. Maybe this financial crisis thing will give us hope again...

  • when he says "guilty free, innocent hurt" does he mean the rioters are hurt or the coppers?because i like the song and don't want to like another fascist tune.

  • Just cause someone riots don't make em fascist e.g the G20 protests in London recently.

What about the Jersey politician today who claims officials on the island covered up child abuse has been arrested at his home for alleged breach of data protection law while the pervert make their legal escape.

Is that not "guilty free, innocent hurt?"

Read rest of lyrics "freedom for those freedom fighters".

  • no no,you misunderstood. The song goes "riot in the ghetto, red alert" so I thought, what's wrong about riots in the ghetto? But from what you say, they mean the poor, not the coppers.

  • He means normal people get hurt. The "rivers of blood" bit in the second verse is a reference to Enoch Powell's famous speech warning that mass immigration would lead to race war.

The "freedom fighters" line is clearly ironic: the old bill let black rioters wreak havoc and then release them back onto the streets where they're received as if they were heroes, while others rot in jail for minor incidents.

One law for them is a white working class anthem.

  • 4 Skins were not a fascist band, so its unlikely this has any nazi leanings.

  • Maybe not nazi, but it sure puts white working class people against black and asian, and football hooligans against rioters in the poor areas of big English cities. So there's nothing in it that wouldn't put a smile on a nazi's face. Shame, its an Oi! classic.

  • I don't see were this song is supporting whites only...

  • Well, it sure seems like whining from "honest taxpayers", and he mentions "rivers of blood" as well, from Enoch Powell's famous racist speech in the early seventies. Shit, i've always thought the song's about different standards for working class people and for the rich, but it turns out it's just racist crap.

  • Hey, the way they take skinhead music and words and slogans, we 'll "reclaim" if you like. The refrain is classic, when you sing it be internationalist and fuck what they mean.btw, same feelings.

  • Read the lyrics correctly and then post a comment!

  • Please quote me Enoch Powells speech were it says "rivers of blood" I'm curious to how this can be taken.

  • Good points. Song needs a re-write but how the fuck do you cover the 4-Skins?

  • u dont

  • im sure many songs feature the lyircs rivers of blood and these guys were opposed to facism ur original idea was write fu8ck nazis man trads and sharps skins and punks oi from ireland

  • 4 skins the best Oi!

  • YES !
