I guess its a matter of personal preference. I think some of Edberg's strokes, particularly his forehand, look a bit odd in the same way. I find it charming and it makes you wonder each stroke, is he going to make it!!!

I think McEnroe's slice backhand and his sharp cross-court rip when he takes the ball early are waaay cool locking.
