My biggest bass of 2010 chomped the paca. I set the hook so hard that my braided line cut an inch deep gash into the corner of her mouth. Then she went bonkers! Oh and nice videos. needs a background of some sort though
I'm a believer in 'em... we fished a particular lake in which the bass were nailing beaver-tail grubs when the weather was good. My dad and I continued to throw the beaver-tails at them in the rain, and my brother used the pacas all day. We caught a few, but he was catching bass left and right on the pacas in conditions in which the bass shouldn't have been been biting.
Better than Senkos? Maybe when used in a specific application. The two baits in question are not even similar and will attract fish based on what presentation the fish want.
Anyway. If I'm going to be throwing a craw, it's the Paca. Not only do they have great action, but they're loaded with anise, fat, and salt. it is true however, that the claws are the weakest link, so you'll probably wind up going through several if the fish are hitting them.
@shift808 I agree, I believe the Netbait Paca Craw is probably the most effective craw, and yes, I use a lot of them every time I fish, at the lake I fish, they anniahlate the netbait Baby Paca Craw, in the Alabama craw, I usually go through a pack each time I go to that lake, if I start throwin them at that lake, I dont quit till I run out of them, which doesnt take long. :)
These things are awesome! I use the Red Shad color (black/red) with a 1 and 1/2 oz tungston bullet pegged flipping weight and rigged weedless on a 5/0 Wide gap hook. It's great for pitching/flipping/punching in weeds, grassmats, hydrilla, and other vegetation found in Clear Lake or the Delta.
The claws are the weakest part of this bait. Tend to break off from the main body if fish on water with a lot of vegetation. Tried it on snakeheads in Malaysia and it droves them nuts!!
Strike King Rage Chunk, or Paca Chunk?
(rage has a bit more action, but is an extra 3 dollars)
