@bigWazaa It scans only the bottom empty positions to see which one is now filled. It is written using BrickOS so that it can be fast enough to scan while the arm is in motion.

No, it is not fake. It scans the bottom row as it moves. As soon as it detects your coin the scan is terminated.

This robot is absolutely awesome!

Although I would probably have done this differently, by making the robot's arm drop the coins by sliding across the top of the board rather than have to build it so the arm's length would exactly match the distance from the board.

How does the robot sense the board?

Anyway, good job! videos like this make me want to get back to creating stuff like this!

It uses the optical sensor to scan the bottom row of coins. It can only see red coins, so you have to play red.

The algorithm looks ahead 3 moves, that means that it will often beat the human. But it is still possible to beat it if you are clever...
