I wasn't a fan of Rukia's before this battle. This battle, and especially its ending, made Rukia one of my favourite characters in Bleach. And after she killed Aroniero she even shows that she knows what Orihime is going through. Well done Rukia.

I'm a big fan of Rukia but it's like she has not been having much screen times as the other characters after the SS Arc. I understand that in the past she gave her powers to Ichigo so it's reasonable that she can't fight that well, but after the SS arc incident she's supposed to regain her powers and becomes stronger but it's always either Ichigo or Byakuya who saves her in the battle, which bothers most Rukia fans alot.

Bankai Ikkaku, who is said to be captain level, BARELY defeated a fraccion, and those fraccion said that the power levels of the espada are worlds apart, and yet Rukia, seemly lieutenant level, defeated the 9th Espada with an ability that would be useless in any other situation.

Aaroniero didn't have a zanpaktou since he was of gillian class, not vasto lordes so he had to turn into kaien to use his zanpaktou. Does that answer your question(s) lol xD
