OMG look what I found I never heard anything about this song or track but this is awesome, sadly that the Original Soundtrack does not contain this song, check NewGatti - Will See video. Just Awsome!
Mulholland Dr by David Lynch is WAY more confusing that this. If you don't understand this movie, go watch Total Recall. They are similar, and yes I know that this is based off a Spanish movie.
Wow! I started watching this movie certain that I would need to watch it at least one more time, but no! I get it, I get it. Amazing movie. The subconscious really is AMAZING.
I did love this movie, but I saw Abre Los Ojos before watching this (the Spanish movie it's based on, which also has Penelope Cruz in it), and even though I didn't speak spanish at the time and had to read subtitles, I still think the original was a bit better.
Nice movie about finding true love and losing it...but it just shows how most of us are soo focused on looks, instead of what really matters....the heart..
@steky92 totally the same man been years but I still remember how I felt - & yes empty as in "yet to be filled" one of the best movies -- definately | timelessly.
its the mix of emotion. youre left feeling heart sunk by the sudden change of story (dont wanna spoil it for anyone). everyone who connect emotionally with the movie felt what you felt. truelly amazing, watch it a second time.
this is the greatest fucuking movie ive ever seen! its by far my favorite...i just watched it again like 20 mins ago for the first time in 3 years and I cried just as hard as the first time! tom cruise is such a phenom actor! fucken incredible!
the part with the gun was not in the movie. And btw who is the asshole on this board that said "White people are fucked up" I saw his comment and then when I went to refresh the page I didn't see his comment. I was going to respond directly to him but I guess I'll just do it here....Hey fuck you man you racist fuck!
I love these trailers where the beginning is all light and lovely and then it gets dark and deep! Love it! Also that car accident off the bridge was the catalyst for eternity for Tom Cruise's character. This movie reminds me of the last line in Fight Club where Edward Norton tells the girl "You met me at a very strange time in my life" LOVE IT! And funny how Cameron Crowe directed Jerry MacGuire because I was watching that movie and the way the movie was made reminded me a lot of Vanilla Sky
@SteveCarras damn pls tell me you did not just spoil it for everyone. I mean like seriously I was like cursing the air when I saw the first comment which was yours because I'm not gonna watch the movie now since you fking spoiled it
Thanks alot, I came on youtube to check out the trailer and see what people thought of the movie before i see it and you have to ruin the movie for me.
@alanzob Is that really how the movie ends? if so you should delete the comment so the movie doesn't get ruined for everyone who have not seen it yet.
I love crazy obsessed stalker movies I just saw another one called Trespass on my laptop this morning. Cam Gigandet character's has an obsession with Nic Cage wife Nicole Kidman and the movie gets crazy fast...bitly .com/qccWtY
I regret if someone inspired by such a beautiful phenomenon of Lucid Dreams and make to into a fallible theater like this like this :'(, especially the end! the movie wasn't going bad, but i expected something better in the end to cover up the story but it appeared to be crap.
You could listen to the commentary and understand it better. The Donnie Darko commentary supposedly explains the movie in great detail. :D This movie is similar to Total Recall.
I'm not sure if anyone feels like I do, but, when I listen to Radiohead's "Kid A" album, it reminds me of this film.
I understand when the film was made, Cameron and Cruise would listen to the entire album during filming. I love the "Kid A" album. It's one of my top 10 all time list.
hi guys, there is something i didnt understand and i would like u to explain it to me.. please
First of all: in the end of the movie, that guy from life extension, edmund ventura said that the lucid dream began after that night in the club, when he fell asleep in the street and that his shrink, mc cabe, had never been real, isnt that right ?!
Then how come they had their psichological meetings, he being charged of murder, from the very beginning of the movie if he hadnt been real?!
@HotDamn70 well why did they had their psihological meetings from the very beginning of the film if mc cabe had never existed? he was only his creation?
@3nd0wWw all scenes of David are basically "flashbacks" or memories that are coming back to David during his sessions with McCabe. The final 10 minutes or so lead up to David seeing the Life Extension ad on TV and having McCabe take him to the building.
It could have been edited better, but I found it obvious that there were 2 timelines being intercut. Since David is under arrest for murder, he would not be leaving the police station between meetings with a psychologist.
You have to understand that the psychological meetings from the beginning actually took place later on in the timeline. Movies do it all the time where they start backwards and move forward.
Personally I really liked both : "Abre Los Ojos" and Vanilla Sky". they are the same story but with different elements. "Abre los ojos" is more dramatic, violent and has some of the greatest actors I've seen, Alejandro Amenábar is so fucking great directing. "Vanilla Sky" has better special efects and some of the scenes are more detailed and maybe better explained than "Abre Los Ojos", it's not really dramatic but nostalgic and deep, the final scene in the roof was almost perfect.
@ismaelinfante1 Te recomiendo que veas "abre los ojos", es la original y para mí es más realista y con mejores interpretaciones. Esta pretende ser más espectacular pero pierde la esencia.
i don't understand why they make this movie is asbolutly the same with "Open Your eyes" in 1997 no different only the actors are different except Penelope Cruz

@Vash1286 Open Your Eyes definitely wasn't better than Vanilla Sky! You can't think of Vanilla Sky as just a "remake", it's a league of it's own, the best movie I've ever seen in my life! And Vanilla Sky is, in my opinion, a much more...human version. Abre Los Ojos was too soul-less

It's not perfect, and it's not the best film I've ever seen, but it's still up there because of its evocative power. I adore and despise it at certain times throughout, and I could watch it over and over. A truly original film, well Abre los ojos is, and this is a great interpretation. And Tom Cruise... He gets a lot of criticism, but what a fine actor. Think I'll watch Eyes Wide Shut now.

Damn anyone who has seen Abre Los Ojos will agree that Vanilla Sky is a sad remake.
