So much better than the remake! Betsy Palmer was actually pretty frightening as Pamela Voorhees in the original. Nana Visitor, who portrayed the role in the remake, was NOT scary whatsoever!

People have to think that back in 1980 this was top notch special effects, and it scared the crap out of everyone , today it doesnt look the best but its much better then the cgi you see now adays!

God I love this scene. The blade hits her neck and her head pops off... doesn't even go through :L

It's a woman with man hands! The actress is Besty Palmer, but she was no longer on set when they filmed the beheading. The hands belong to Taso Stavrakis, who was a friend of Tom Savini and helped with the special effects. Defintely take note of the hairy hands!
