it's all about skill level. many pro riders ride finless. many boards today come either finless or with small molded fins. deeper fins give a board more stability which is good for beginners. but it also can be less forgiving when landing some jumps. if the landing isn't quite right the board can stick in it's position and create a crash. an experienced rider will either slide out or correct the mistake by adjusting their balance. i ride finless in glass water and with fins in rough water
i only have one fin on my board im bout to get another but wit only one fin i cant turn without killing my self and i cant jump without killing my self in a much more brutal way!!:}haha
@Mondochace ya i know i was jst fuckin around i usually just ride without fins but im going to try it with fins so i can get the basics down im new to wakeboarding
maybe its just technique cause i have a really cheap black widow i got from big 5 and i took the fins out first day to see if i liked it and haven't put them on since and I can easily turn and jump the wake no trouble
wakeboarding without fins is impossible. I agree with you 100 percent. If you are a beginner and you just want to stand in the middle of the wake and not turn or do anything that wakeboarding with fins is perfectly fine. But if you want to turn it is impossible without a fin to grip the water. But some professional boards are made in a special way that the board grips the water without the need of the board. But ive tried many times wakeboarding without fins and it is terrible
Um, not a single pro uses a fin other then what's molded into the board. I don't use fins either. You steer the board with the edge, hence why it's called edging and not steering. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean it's the wrong way.
that and the fact the watre is so rough, maybe im spoiled but we only go out in the mornings on a quiet river and in the evenings when the water is glass
i drive fineless -.- NOOB!
