  • Hi Andrew,

I am a fan of yours and I have commented on your videos in the past. I have a PSR S710 and I am having trouble understanding how to integrate a custom style I have made on the Style Creator in with the 16 track sequencer. I am able to record the performance of the style chords and switch the different variations around but....!! I cant seem to add any other tracks to the "style performance" on tracks 1 - 8. What am I doing wrong???

  • @douken86 If you are using the Quick Record function (when you just hit record and all the tracks are armed), I think the style takes up most (if not all) the sequencer tracks. Try recording on tracks 16, 15, or somewhere up there, and if that doesn't work...you might have to turn the MIDI file into a WAV file and free up all the sequencer tracks. Best of luck!

  • Thank you

    Thatd just awesome ;)

  • I have a Tyros3/4 , I have been playing / recording with many kinds of keyboards for over 30 years . And found the Yamaha Multitrack rec a bit confusing not to straight forward.. Then I found your Video here , You made my day!! thank you, even though its not for Tyros it still is same type of functions.. And I was able to make my first Multitrack recording..Following your video.. My Regards , TotallyKenny

  • @Totally007 I am glad to hear that! Hope it all works out for you. :)

  • hey..after u record right 1 for track one....can u record 'left' or right2 on top of that on the same track again? its pretty confusing...suppose u make a mistake while recording...u hav to delete the whole track?

  • @XLR8yog I don't think you can record over and keep both tracks. You can definitely edit parts of the track using "song creator" - I have another video on how to do that. Good luck!

  • 0:50 - 1:30 Sounds alot like Dude (I totally miss you) - Tenacious D! Otherwise, really good video!

  • @WinterDJ40 exactly what i was thinking of :)

  • This might be a stupid question but i will ask anyway. Can you make a style by hitting for example 4 drum keys and make that part be repeated, so u have ur own made drum rhythm. etc with other voices. I have psr 423 and I cant do that. I even read manual which says something about looping but i couldn't make a repeating rhythm...

  • @kaskalo2 On this keyboard, that's definitely possible...check out my video on how to use style creator. The PSR 423 is probably limited in recording, as it's an entry level keyboard...

  • the keyboard is ok but it doesnt have a whole lotta voices. im trying to make an 80's pad voice but it still doesnt sound right.

  • @KinetikPlayground Try using the XG voices...those might help a bit.

  • Hi Andrec JC, Wow what a fantastic video....Congrats.....I have a question Can I Attach Roland SPD 30 With Yamaha PSR S910 to Play Rhythm...If Yes..How ?

  • @abhisheklovzmusic I'm not sure if that's possible...I'm not the person to ask on Rolands though. Best of luck and thanks for the comment!

  • oh wow this was very inspiring. :3 my dad got me a Yamaha psr for christmas but even after reading the manual it was still very confusing to use. after you finished the recording, how would you save it?

  • @Misterica98 To save the song as a MIDI file, select the song and hit the 6 down arrow to save it.

To save as a WAV file, I have a separate video on that, called converting MIDI to WAV.

    Good luck!

  • @AndrecJC now your track is ring tone on my iPhone bro :))))) I wish I'd find the piano tutorial ;) thanks

  • @Rustamislamov Woo! That's a huge compliment - I'm very glad you like my music.

If I ever make a tutorial on how to play this song, I will let you know.

  • what the part is it dude, such a calming music?

  • @Rustamislamov I don't really know what you are asking here, sorry! If you could clarify, that'd be great.

  • @AndrecJC Bro I mean Your Guitar playing is great, where can I find this song? to download or just learn to play this guitar playing, I have the same Yamaha PSR S900. Thanks and keep it up dude ;)

  • @Rustamislamov Oh! The link is in the description to download a longer version of this song. Thanks! If you need any help with the chords or anything, just let me know.

  • Thank you. I have the Tyros 4 so have the HD audio recorder. I still have a lot to learn on how to use that too. The manuals are not easy to follow and doesn't have a lot of "hints"

  • This is awesome...! can I record asong like this on Yamaha PSR-S 700. plz.....?

  • @vanbawi2054 Yes, the PSR S700 has the same recording function.

  • @AndrecJC Well thankz alot... I use to try it by myself But i couldn't find it..now after seeing ur vedeo I hope I would make it.... !

  • @vanbawi2054 Good luck! If you need anything else, feel free to send me an email.

  • Can you also record "Auto Accompaniments" with the multitracfk recorder? If so, which channel do you record it on? I am an absolute newcomer to Yamaha. I have a Tyros but I am sure they are not too dissimilar from PSR's

  • @Mummyblue1 You'll want to use "Quick Record." Open a new song, and just press the record button without holding down any arrow buttons. Then, play the accompaniment - it will record to several tracks.

Let me know if it works out!

    -AndrecJC

  • Thanks for your quick reply! I've already discovered Quick Record. After I record the song accompaniment using Quick Record, would I then be able to layer on extra tracks as well on other channels? I am currently jazzing up some Bach with auto-accompaniment and would love to record the accompaniment first and then add 3 or more tracks using synthezisers, organ, strings etc

  • @Mummyblue1 It depends on how many tracks you have left - you'll see how many tracks Quick Record uses up afterwards. Also, if you have the Tyros, it may have the hard disk audio recorder function? If so, you can create two separate MIDI tracks and layer them using that.

  • Groso!!

  • hey, which song is this by the way??wats the name?.......

  • @prathiajit1 It's just an unnamed demo song I made. It's in the description if you want to download it! Thanks!

  • @mraustinroxxx Thank you! I'm very appreciative of your support!

  • Sensacional, fantástico, parabéns !

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I used to have a Casio and learned how to multi-track record on it but the Yamaha PSR-S900 had me stumped!

  • I can buy this Keyboard right? but where idk if this is still selling via internet.. note: a lot of money lol

  • Yes, this keyboard is still available to purchase - try sites such as Musician's Friend or Guitar Center.

It is a lot of money, but in my opinion, definitely worth it.

    Good luck,

    -Andrec

  • you really good, I think some other the tempo issues would be ironed out it you tried Quantization.

  • Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try it sometime.

    -Andrec

  • hey,

    very well done, sounds great.

I was wondering, how to get a selfmade song from the keyboard to the pc..? i have the yamaha psr 1000, which is quite similar. does it work with the disc slot? or do i somehow have to attach the keyboard to my pc with some special cable?

  • The best way to transfer a song from the keyboard to the computer is using the MIDI output from the keyboard. You will need a USB-MIDI interface for this.

    -Andrec

  • i got this cable^^ but how does it actually work? do i see the piano as a usb device on my pc and can i transfer the song then?

  • You will need some sequencing software, such as ProTools or Cubase. Then you can record the MIDI with your computer.

    -Andrec

  • ok thank you!

  • Sure thing,

    -Andrec

  • very nice thanks for posting

  • @Christblackwell

    Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • @DeGile2110 This is just a short song I made up for this demo. You can download it in the information section if you want!

    Thanks again,

    -Andrec

  • Hey,

I'll put the download for the song in the sidebar for this video. Just click on the link.

I see what you mean about the similarities to Nothing Else Matters. It is a very good song.

    -Andrec

  • I downloaded and thnkx so much for share ur beauty song !! What´s the tone of this music?? "Em" or "E Major" ???

Exactly, i mean about the similarities with Nothing Elsing Matters, dont rememba you??

  • I do agree! The song is in E minor.

    -Andrec

  • Thank you for the lesson, I have a psr s900 too, still learning.. Since you are very good at it, can you please upload some tutorial regarding creating loop styles so called auto accompaniment. I have no problem making the drum pattern but cant get the chords right. In the book it says CM7 and I do the same but it comes out sound very ugly. Ill appreciate your great help

  • Thanks,

-I myself am not very familiar with the style creator. I can take a look at it and see if I can help you out on it!

    -Andrec

  • i´ve made some covers on this keyboard.

    please enjoy =)

  • By the way, I think the Yamaha PSR 900 has a lot better voices than the more expensive roland fantom G. I have both so I can compare them. The Yamaha PSR 900 has the best auto accompaniment patterns than any other keyboard around. Plus you can always buy more of them from the yamaha website and put them in your USERS section.

  • At last, somebody has put up a video on multi track recording with the PSR 900. I have one and I have read the manual several times, and I still don't get it. but, I think watching your video will help. I can lay down 8 direct tracks with my Roland Fantom G keyboard and it is a lot easier than than the Yamaha. But, you only laid down 4 tracks. Are we limited to only 4 tracks with the PSR 900?

  • Thanks for the response and subscription!

I was only recording 4 tracks because of the short amount of time I had. The S900 is able to record up to 16 tracks per song. It is very useful!

    -Andrec

  • Yes, it will record up to 16 tracks per song. But, if you play six keys at the same time for a left and right handed piano chord...do those 6 keys take up 6 tracks, and now you are only left with 10 tracks to work with. Correct me if I am wrong?

  • No, each track holds every note you play. I use about 6 tracks, each with piano, bass, drums, etc....

    It's a very neat and easy-to-use system!

  • thanks for the response,and nice comment,too,Andrec !

    Keep playing!!

  • I forgot to add, I have more tutorials coming up, and you can be notified of those if you subscribe. That would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks again,

    -Andrec

  • thanks for the tutorial. You play very good.. I'm not too good, but love music. I also have S900. What voice was the guitar sound? I did a cover tune, with different words, using my S900,for some of the tracks. Let me know ,if you want to check it out ..it's here on youtube under Closing heavens gate

  • Thanks for the comment!

The guitar sound in this video is the Super Articulation Steel Guitar. I enjoy playing with this voice because of its expressive tones that vary with playing styles.

Nice work on your cover! I enjoyed it very much.
