  • what are the odds of me working for nascar after going to school here

  • Hi @TheRyank87, not sure if we have an exact statistic with that number. However, within the 15-week NASCAR elective, our instructors will supply you with the tools and knowledge NASCAR demands from every technician. As a graduate, you will be on the inside track to various entry-level positions in motorsports and a variety of other racing careers. Also, our campus is in the heart of Race City USA next to many race teams headquarters. Have you had a chance to visit our campus, yet?

  • i have read a lot of bad reviews on this school that its a joke and ppl are crying cuz they didn't get the job right away they wanted and blamed it on the school. also they said that the city of mooresville don't like the school and I plan on attending next year but i was just wondering can you guys tell me if those reviews are right or not

  • Hi @Joemaj939! I strongly encourage you to visit UTI's & Nascar Technical Institute's Facebook page and ask over 33,000 people their opinion. You will receive opinions from current students, alumni, etc. Our industry relationships and manufacturer programs have allowed us to build a nationwide network of companies looking to hire our graduates. While employment cannot be guaranteed, we place a great emphasis on assisting you from the beginning and throughout your entire career.

  • HI @Joemaj939! As we said below, we cannot guarantee job placement, but will place a great emphasis on assisting you from the beginning and throughout your entire career. To see employment rates, visit our Disclosure page on our website & look for the "Disclosure" link underneath Student Services. As for the city, I strongly encourage you to visit a campus. There is a Meet & Greet Open House this Sat. & would be a great way to check out the campus, programs & surrounding area.

  • When u graduate u better be ready for 55 hours a week in a shop working on flag rate. enjoy the blonde lady, that nice ass burger place, b/c when u hit the grind there aint no more that, just fighting for tickets and working hard.

  • @fzywzy14 I signed up for the automotive core with ford fact program what courses are you in?

  • Im enrolled to go to this school in may 2012 so far its been a good experience and im really starting to get excited about goin I have to say i really dont have alot of knowledge about cars but i am very interested in learning about it and would love to some day work in this field are there any students that had a positive experience and can give me any advice on how to make the most out of this opportunity

  • Congrats @bugsy445! Can't wait to see you at NTI. I suggest writing the same message on the NASCAR Technical Institute's Facebook page and over 7,000 people who are current and past students will probably have great advice for you on how to make the most out of this opportunity.

  • @bugsy445 well i have been attending nti well i will be on my 4th phase when school starts back tuesday and i like it so far it is a great choice but you get out of it what u put in and what course did u sighn up for?

  • From the makers of MTV Cribs !

  • Call us at 1-800-834-7308, @SLaYD666!

  • am actually already signed up and gonna go on may,31 i never worked on a car in my life i was just hopin they train you to know everything real well am hands on training type of guy

  • utiforums . com

  • Im enrolled to start May 9th, 2011. Im completely excited about school, and I hated high school. But im a hands on learner, so this will be the perfect school for me. And just to let you all know, anyone who goes starts with the core program. They tell you that before you apply. The NASCAR part is an elective just like FACT and NATT. They dont try to place everyone with a race team. That would be rediculous. They train you for all sorts of technician positions with their partnered manufacturers.

  • @Zack12282 dude let me know how you like the college because i might want to go and upgrade in mechanics there later on

  • I went there for a 13 month course,i thought it was gonna be about nascar teaching/training,cause that's what they tell you ,well when i finally started school,i found out that only the last month of my 13 months would be nascar training and the rest is just training you to work in a dealership, which is fine if that's what you want to do,and they tell you,you can get a job with nascar after graduating but the catch is your grades, attendance everything has to be better than everyone else in skool

  • @scarface50284 you should have known that before even enrolling. you're recruiter should have gone through that, because that's what i initially thought also, but i talked to them and was told NASCAR was just an elective, but i still enrolled.

  • I am starting school at this campus in November 2010.

  • @mbdalyricalmc Awesomeness hit me up tell me how it is im goin in Aug 8th next year u still gonna be enrolled by then?

  • I took that tour :] im enrolled nex year 2011 Aug :D! im sooo excited ^-^ TY Nelson!

  • great campus! reccomend it to every race fan!

  • People just need to quit crying about what they didn't learn at UTI because they were hardly there or slept most of the time they were there. you get what you put into it. if you want to talk about drop out rates, look up the University of Phoenix or better yet just about any colleges online program

  • I am currently in my 6 th phase. Love every minute of it. Love getting up in the morning to cone to school knowing I will be in a lab in just few short minutes balancing my tires for free, doing an alignment for free, etc etc. Yeah I did pay 30 k for the school, so nothing is technically free; it makes it feel that day. Word of advice. Don't fall asleep!!

  • @GatorNation10 I've been looking at this for some time and have been indecisive. The school has looked legit to me. I only want to go for being a technician and possibly for doing performance work on vehicles. College itself is not exactly my strong point as I am indecisive. How is this place that bad? Just looking for what people say about it that's not on their website.

  • I went to the school graduated in 2004 I actually signed my name on the wall with my race number, its a good school, I worked for a couple of teams after graduation.. I see that they have changed some things sense I been there..

  • i cant see how any of these negative comments can be true. i was just interviewed this week for nti and i love what they have to offer. i toured the school it is truely amazing so before you go critisizing the school why dont you go exsperience it all first

  • dose anyone think this is like cribs for UTI? lmao, sweet though hope i can get into there.

  • i'm 13 and can't WAIT to get here!!!!!!!!

  • as a graduate of NTI I will agree that the comments by some of the other posters are true. It is difficult to find a carrer in nascar most of it will depend on you. I this industry it is all about who you know.

  • How do I know all your saying is true?

  • im planning to go to UTI, but do i need any requirements before i apply at UTI?, cause i just recently graduated from highschool and im looking to be a automotive technician specialist, and UTI seems to be the place for me, but to go their do i need to have like experience in auto or anything?, and is this school really that good?and how much is it get into a 51 week program in UTI?

  • The place seemed like my dream!! Only.. the guy that lead the tour was kinda geek.

I wish I had places like this in my country. Hope I get inside something like it one day.

  • why, UTI is the top automotive school in the country. Do you think your local tech school has facilities like this?

  • i know about seven that i went there with that are working on nascar teams, and one of them the school hooked em up with penske, i also know a few more that are working in other forms of motorsports

  • im going to apply whats the real deal

  • Im probably going to apply for this school when i graduate. I probably know more about a 350 V-8 than most, but it would suck to throw $30,000 at NTI, and then end up without a Nascar related job, anything less that would be a heartbreak for me. But, then again, this is the only chance I have at Nascar...

  • There are alot of people who say they know alot, but dude if you go there , and you arent able to back up what you know about them, then dont say you know it, they will eat you alive. trust me dude, dont get a label, it will ruin your time there.

  • Well, I woundt act like a smartass and brag as if I know everything, Im just saying the classes like hand tools and basic engine fundamentals would be a waste of time for me.

  • hey they give you an option to test out of the classes BEFORE you set foot in them. to give you a chance not to waste your time if you already know the stuff in that class. I have yet to know anyone to pass any of the tests. trust me they are very hard. when you go there i'll just say its a bit different but knowing some stuff does give you an edge. least in my experience. hope you do well!

  • Yes UTI/NTI will let you test out of classes. Catch 22. is you have to have 2 years experience in that area. And thats actual proveable job experience via paystubs and such. I wanted to test out since i already had some training but i didn't have the experience requirments but the review was pretty good. And I ended up helping out alot of students who never picked up a wrench in their life. You really want to learn something well teach it.

  • lol like this guy in our hot rod class, he said he had been doing this for 20 years ( Norwood UTI btw ) We labeled him 20 years and he messed up his engine, valves were swimming witht he crank

  • thanks for the info. i was thinking of NTI because its only an hour drive from me. there are 3 local community colleges close to me that offer auto tech as well but i didnt want to go for 2 yrs and have to take all those BS classes like humanities or fine arts etc

  • Central Piedmont?

  • I'm in Uti right now. The Core automotive course costs 26,600 plus 100 dollar registration fee and a 215 dollar lab/meter fee. If you take Auto/Diesel its 34k. Auto/Ford Fact is about 30k. If your unsure of which school to go to. Check them all out. I chose UTI because they have an excellent job placement rate for dealerships. about 92% The Nascar portion is a much lower. However when you have as few jobs in Nascar and so many people taking the course. It does weigh it down.

  • how much money we talking about? id like to take the auto tech course.

  • Goin there Jan 2010 :] already enrolled

  • im gonna go there when i graduate high school
