Got a put in a word for Aussie band The Saints inventing punk. They released "(I'm) Stranded" before any British punk act had released anything. Only the Ramones brought out anything before them. They released their records themselves. No big deal from a major record company for them. Their song "Know your product" off of their 2nd album is the greatest punk song of all time. British punk acts were fan boys of the Ramones. The Saints' debut album would have sounded the same if Ramones not exist.
