  • The graphics are so lifelike!

  • this guy in the chair is either hullucinating up the ying yang or should B in a strait jacket!

  • if only atari was a holographic full 12 feet display

  • Wow! Star Raiders ! It was awesome 3D game on 8 bit Atari (1979).

  • this guy need to get out of that dark room

  • Yars Revenge was seriously a very addictive game. I used to play for hours and hours. I sometimes still play that game for a little bit.

  • This commercial reminds me that Imagination was a key thing back in the day...

I miss when you could "fill in the gaps" in your games... even on the NES this was true.. but once you hit a little later, it becomes too "forced"...

What a shame... Also funny how, just very recently I have discovered Yar's Revenge, and the game has become basically perfection to me..

  • "Hyperspace!"

  • Yar's Revenge rocks

  • this was the best 2600 game of all time!!!

  • holy shit i forgot all about this! i must have wasted a week of my young life playing this stupid game ..

  • yars revenge that is lol

  • Maaan ATARI was the kick ass system back then... I remember me playing COMBAT with my brothers and fighting to be next. Now I check the grafics on my PS3 or my wife's Wii and daaaaaaaamn!!!

  • Sometimes. But Yars' Revenge "are" awesome.

Hooked on phonics didn't work for you, did it?

  • no entiendo como se divertian con eso

  • siezure

  • the mutant fly in the ion zone. What is the name of that game, I don't remember.

  • Yars Revenge.....

  • si, la verdad es que después van a ser reliquias, así que hay que cuidar nuestras antiguas consolas.

  • ohh yo aun juego con mi atari 65XE

aunque tiene sus mañanas, aun puedo jugarr!!

    me trae grandes recuerdos ^^

  • Okay, Star Raiders has a little something to do with Star Wars, because that was clearly a rip off of a TIE Fighter.

  • most space games of the time try to rip off Star Wars. It's no big deal.

  • I think Star Raiders was a combo of both Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. Did you hear him say Cylon warship?

  • Trippy.

  • yo jugaba en un ATARI 800XL, y todavia lo tengo, lo jugaré de nuevo para recordar mi infancia

I played in ATARI 800XL, and I still have it, I will play again to remember these days of my childhood.

Montesuma, Hero, jungle hunt, etc etc. Great games forever

  • Does anybody know what year for sure?

  • claro sabes tu el fundamento para este comercial si lo sabes compartelo te lo agradecere infinitamente.

  • 1982. The Atari itself is a later model. It only has four switches in the front instead of six. The later model from it is all black in 1984 and the final model in 86 was the "jr" mosel

  • if you want to know your console history, come over to my channel to see the True Videogame Story of companies like Atari and all of your favorites!

  • ????

  • This is pretty advanced for that time period. I don't remember this commercial, but wow! My friends had the Arari 2700, then bought the 5200 when that came out.

  • I agree with FionatheFox's perception of the commercial's advanced special effects technology. It's obviously retro, but I think it still holds up gracefully now. Thanks for posting this gem, grevenchile!

  • There's a rip-off of the Tie-fighter from Star Wars near the end.

  • Actually that is a tie fighter from an atari star wars game. Not that you can really tell from the crap graphics.

  • Actually, that game is Star Raiders, which has nothing to do with Star Wars. Fun game, though.

  • star raiders was a complete rip off. it had the tie fighter, the Cylon Basestar and the Klingon bird of prey. and even the force you foght for was called... WAIT FOR IT.... STAR FLEET, and you were piloting Star Cruiser 7.

  • This video is great

    ATARI foreveeeeer!!!

  • wow! I'm impressed by the date of this technology! 1978!!!

  • what was that
