  • Chef!, i tried this recipe and i put a bit tooo much sugar, but let me tell you!, despite that, it was the most delicious sweet i ate my entire life, felt like i had died and went to heaven....I suggest all youtubers viewing this please....please make this...it is so worth it!

  • bahut vadiya! shaibosh mithai ji

  • nice tasty

  • i just made this dish using your recipe,it was briliant, cheers!!

  • Chef... Love your recipes.. Tried almost all of them. I made badam halwa but it became hard after it cooled down.. Is it normal or I did something wrong?

  • @aksdesai1 if you put it in the microwave, it will get soft again, over low heat and short time. also when making this don't let the mixture dry out totally or become crumbly. similar to making badam burfee:)

  • great taste

  • yummm..... Am making this today. Indian sweets have to be made with ghee. Dont substitute it with olive oil, it wil taste yuck like grease. If you are worried about the calories , make it in small quantity. And the taste of badam only gets enhanced by the saffron and elaichi. Its a sweet dish, for God's sake.!!!! Thx Sanjay! Awesome as always!

  • ADDING SAFFRON AND CARDAMOM RUINS THE FLAVOR OF ALMONDS (badam)

and too much ghee will make u fat so in 2 tablespponsof olive oil fry the badam and brown it stirring constantly when brown add a cup of whole milk and when it thickens it tastes better than this chef

  • @oshoisluv Safron & cardamom enhances the flavour, that is why it is a indian dish!, also olive oil ruins the flavour and dish, so does whole milk, ghee is not fattening when eaten in moderation just like everything else. Indian sweets require ghee it cannot be substituted with any oil!!!

  • 4:14 oooouuuuch ha ha ha ha... the dude cries like a girl

  • @sasharma821 hehehe :) dude lets see how u cry when boiling milk and badam mixture falls on ur hands.. he could have edited it but this just shows how modest he is and BE CAREFUL when u cook..

  • Hi Sanjay,

    My husband loves Kaju Katali.

I make it most of the times, but I want to follow your receipe to make the Best ever kaju Katali.

Would you please post 'Kaju katali' receipe.

You should know by now...I am a great fan of yours.....

  • chef,

wat shld i do mr. sanjay

    need help

  • I would make it for myself, but i can't cause i am on diet. i will for my family.

  • u are very goood chef!!!

  • Sanjay may be you can protect your hand by using oven glove while you stir to prevent the burn

  • sanjay i dream of you.

  • Now I want the Halwa! :P

  • u are great..an amazing sense of presenting..good luck

  • I tried your Badam halwa and Butter chicken for a party today and was surprised to see such a result for first trial itself.People loved it and i have never been more pleased with myself. -I think i will try all your stuff on utubes.grt job and thankyou so much.

  • wear oven mits when it starts boiling so you don't feel the pain while stiring

  • I like your recipe very much and also like your cooking method. you are great chef.

  • You are too good buddy!!!

  • thanks a lot

  • hi i was wondering if u knew how to make this dessert called CHENNA PODA. if u do, can u plz make it. I visited india one time and it was like the best.

Thank u!. and i love all ur recipes. their gr8

  • *oops sorry I meant to spell almond!!! I am too busy salivating and wishing I could jump into the video clip to eat it!!!!!!

  • Hi. I adore this dish. Can you substitute canned almod paste to hasten the cooking process? Thanks a lot!

  • I just made this! The most delicious! I used almost 3x the ghee. It's richer and used less than half the sugar. I rolled it into balls after cooling. This is how it was served to me the first time. This is one of my favorite deserts of all time.

  • yes how do you present it to serve?

  • there goes the diet!

  • i made it jst nw bt d smell of badam does not go even aftr cooking for an hour

    need help:(

  • @manque15 Why don't we all just make our advance reservations in the cardiac ward. :)

  • @manque15 then you don't eat, you stuff your face. People in India were way healthier when they were eating these desserts than they are now eating the wall paper paste food products imported from the progressive & developed west. Does any one really try to find out about the real facts about foods or you just listen to whatever is spoken in english by a white man from the west?

  • @aparaajita10

What an over-reaction to a light-hearted comment! 'There goes the diet' implies this dish is irresistible even if it is high in calories! Of course we can enjoy sweet things as part of a varied and otherwise healthy diet. I'll certainly try this recipe. In Britain, Indian food is the most popular. 'Curry' is now our national dish - so brush that chip off your shoulder...

  • Do you eat that hot or cooled?

  • Spread evenly in the tray and let cool to solidify. Then cut into serving sized cubes, square or rectangular. Lastly, slowly savour the rich and luxurious badam halwa.

  • cooled

  • @FLOWERO0O...... u can make ghee by completely melting butter....its easy n better dan ready made

  • kindly tell me can i use oil instead of ghee coz i cn't find ghee here in my area

  • Comment removed

  • Hey:

You cannot substitute ghee for oil eh eh

    Clarified Butter = Ghee

Get the non-salted butter any quantity (min 500g-preferably organic) put it into saucepan let it melt on medium heat (don't let it boil at any time) when all the butter is melted reduce the heat and let milk solids settle in a bottom of saucepan, when you see the clear surface with deep cooking spoon start skimming ghee slowly in another clear pot until you reach milk solids, your fragrant home made Ghee is ready to use

  • Few Tip:

Dont let butter rolling boil at any stage because its gonna burn milk particulars and give Ghee nutty flavour, also don't stir during whole process it will not let sit milk particulars in a bottom of pan, you may strain during collecting clear ghee with strainer or cheese cloth.

Once you use this ghee you will never go back to mechanically made synthetic Ghee and you should not by all means

  • Use unsalted butter liquefied in a low flame. Nearly as good as ghee.

  • i melted the sugar 1st and that made it a bit hard.....

  • why is the skin of almonds removed?

    if retained what happens?

  • it is supposed to be removed, like eggs have to be broken and bananas peeled

  • rofl!!

  • Now you tell me why the skin of almonds has been removed?

    You got it right

Because otherwise skin will separate during cooking process in liquid (milk) this halwa should be bit crunchy in taste not soft due to almond skin.

Did I make this point clear?

  • i like to see his video, because of his great emotion.

  • sry what should i do with the badams for two three hours?

should i (let) this in the water or something like that?

  • sorry, varurm...I accidentally marked as spam. ...I didn't mean to! I wanted to answer your question: He mentions that it takes 30 minutes to cook it, around 2:33

  • hey vahchef..

What is the time require to cook this?

  • why he put in tray?

  • u are what u eat.....so hes all nuts..........

  • Your "HALWA" sound very interesting. I like cooking it. Can I use butter instead of "GHEE"?

In my country (Greece) we make a sweet called "halva". It must have the same origin as your "halwa". I have uploaded a video showing how to cook it. You can watch it at the link

    "watch?v=USdDq6Au5Isfeature=channel_page"

  • Thanks for all the recipes.

the way you describe and show the recipe that is

    awesome.

Can you please post a Rice kheer recipe.

    Thanks a lot.

  • I tried it just nw nd it tastes yummy... i added lill less sugar though... thanks a lot...

  • what is gi, ge or something like that? that yellow one...

  • Its not gi or ge. It is GHEE. Its a milk product made out of butter. You will find it in all the indian stores

  • oh thanks..

  • i put the badaam, in the milk and the grinder, with sugar too

and i always drink it before anyone can make anything else with it lol

  • hmm yummy im goin 2 to try that today but one question wat if you don have ghee then wat u use can u use oil

  • good job
