I thought the Beginner course of Daytona 2 was inside some sort of tropical dome. I never realized different versions of Daytona 2 had difference courses.

@1D0N They replaced it after hardcore fans complained that there were no actual Nascar lookign tracks in Daytona 2.

Personally, I prefer the original one in the dome.

@1D0N The tropical dome begginer course is on the battle of the edge version of Daytona USA 2 but that did an updated version called power edition so they updated the begginer course like a NASCAR course and they also did a challenge track which links all three courses and its advanced first then expert and then begginer

I really wish I could play this game again. It's been too long since I last played it. I have the first Daytona USA mastered now I just need to master the second Daytona USA. Great music! Miss the old days of SEGA :(.

The track you meant was in the Battle on the Edge version which is slightly obsolete to this version and the Power edition has the Hornet and challenge mode and the beginner track is still shaped exactly like the Astro waterfall speedway but more realistic looking.

My total time was 2 minutes and a half approx.

Also, the video is sped up, but only slightly. The race runs from 0:14 to 2:57, for a total of 2:43. The game times it at 2:51. Of course, that assumes the game is correct...

Supposedly there actually is an option for it, although obviously I've never seen it in person. I know there's a 80-lap race in the original Daytona, and I did that... I think I lost the lead on the last lap ;(
