That happened to me once. I was playing GTA4 on my 360 and then every object had a translucent green cube surrounding it. Looked pretty cool, but as I figured, a couple of hours later my 360 red-ringed on me.

looks like glitches in the game not the ps3. (the ps3 would not have any effect on the models defected programing/compressing (as can be seen in every version on fallout 3 which uses the unreal engine.) Alot of games have issues like that if you do something first.

An old 360 I had would change 2 black and white color after about 30 minutes of play time. I knew the GPU had taken damage by the enormous heat the 360 produced. All I gotta say is Microsoft may be good at making software, but they're shit at making hardware!

The wii doesn't, no not a fanboy, I own a 360, modded and tweaked cooling. Played for hours on end never had a problem. We all know the wii sucks though.

Yes they are. They're meant to be played as much as possible so you buy more games and give them more money.

Besides they only overheat if you stick em in the cupboard and don't let them breath, just like anything else. My cable box gets hotter than the consoles, and the manual says always leave it on.

I've had my 360 on for 3 or 4 days straight (72 hours+) and it's fine.

My Wii overheated...I thought putting it in the microwave would be better than any of the games on it...I was right ;-)

i was going to travel to Brazil in two weeks and i forgot my PS3 on (running GTAIV paused) then i back and my ps3 still working (my bedroom was really hot, my ps3 was making a vacuun cleaner noise, but working!!) (the home theather still on too)

Hi,

The fact that this takes place after playing over 3 hours, makes it sound like artifacts, which, are basically textures completely out of place (lets put it this way) which happen when the GPU overheats. I recommend you try to keep the PS3 in a cooler place, if possible, or try to get in touch with Sony.

Make sure it has room to breathe. I put mines under the TV stands in the shelf department of it and the games would freeze up and these lights would start blinking. When I took it out and put it on top of the stand, it worked fine. Hope that helps.
