I really think this song means that a girl had a great oppritunity, but she gave in. And later, she really regretted this descision. And in the second verse, it's like she is telling herself lies, like it's ok for her to just give in.

It's about how nothing good is ever really what it seems. The allusion to paradise is used as irony, because she's talking about how bad things are, yet she's in 'paradise.' I think it also has a lot to do with regret, as seen in
"Every time she closed her eyes
she saw what could have been."
"Nothing hurts and nothing bleeds
when covers tucked in tight" is a symbol of security, by being tucked in by a mother.
It's a very profound piece. I love it.
