In the 20th century alone The State is and always has been the number 1 cause of unnatural deaths...150 million in the last century throughout the world.
who guards the queen on these occassions as there don't seem to be any armed guards. when she travels by car, she's followed by secret service types but how about during these sort of things? maybe those guys on the carridge do?
To Powell999, the guards lining the streets are armed, only you cant seem to see it in the video. also they are bound to be undercover body guards in the crowd somewhere. the police also work with the guards to protect her. the guys that stand on the carriage are ceremonial
I think you find the Queen is protected by the SAS. so there would be SAS in the crowed, and SAS snipers. And her royal life guard. (The men on the horse). there are also Grenadier guards along the road.
instead of being right next to her they search everybody and everything on the way into the area so they can just mingle in the crowd if anything does happen but since everyone has been searched theres really not much going to happen
Whilst there is indeed no need for anyone other than the Queen to attend there often are other Royals in attendance. I can remember seeing Charles, Anne, Alexandra to mention just those that my failing faculties recall but sadly I really can not remember if Diana ever attended.
