I bet none of you knew that this was used in Kendrick Lamar's - Fuck Your Ethnicity...I just found that out. Lmao, randomly go check it out and see if you hear the sample =P
It makes me sad to see that this beautiful song has less views than songs that sing about nothing but sex and drugs. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
@WaLover756 It's poetic...it's truthful...it's beautiful...but the lyrics are less rhythmic, must less MUSICAL. Wouldn't you agree? I LOVE Propaganda and Braille and I've been a fan and an artist myself for a lonnggg time, but I'll be the first time to admit a lot of holy hip-hop we're making isn't as musical and pleasing to listen to. Exceptions? Sure. SHO BARAKA. Verbal Kwest. Othello. Reach Records artists (e.g., Lecrae), who some would say are less poetic.
@ButterInChicago Lamp Mode has some real raw lyricists. Like Shai Linne, and Timothy Brindle. LM also has guys that could be thrown on the radio with other rappers and would have the mainstream sound like Json and S.O. Shai Linne spoke it the best on "Slow Down" and "Memiors" that Record Labels throw out the money to make sure their songs get paid and radio and mainstream follow the money. Our mainstream HipHop is a bunch of sell outs that feed on the sins of the world not real musical artists.
@ButterInChicago Also the state of the world and churches are very shady. We are in perilous times. These artists will not be appealing to the lost who love darkness. Their music should never conform and stay with scripture. I hope Sho Baraka, Swoope, JR, and Suzy Rock do not lose their ways. Because befriending the world and its ways is befriending the enemy of God, thus making yourself an enemy.
@reflxtion3 I'm just talking about musicality. I think subject matter is VERY important--but it's music, so one's words should also be pleasing to listen to. Many rappers (Christian, non-Christian) make songs whose lyrics aren't melodic, don't have rhythm. I used to be one. I don't enjoy listening to music like that. This turns others off, too. To @WaLover756, I was sharing that this is *1* reason I think the song has less views. But I LOVE Propaganda. THIS isn't a song--it's POETRY.

@THEKICK5 Propaganda used it before Kendrick anyway. Art Ambidextrous dropped in Feb 2011 and Kendrick's dropped in July 2011.

@komahabk I didn't say who used it first, just saying Kendrick used it too. Good looking on the information though.
