I totally agree with you on the dialog thing. MW has great writing, but it can get lost as you have to skim over pages and pages of drone-speak. Back when I was still playing MW, there was a mod project called Less Generic NPCs. The writing there was PHENOMENAL and really brought MWs atmosphere, its greatest strength, to a new level. At the time there were some issues with it conflicting with the main quest, though. It reqs the expansions, but you should try it out if you ever start a new game!
Hey everyone I know that this could be regarded as spamming but i have just uploaded my first 6 parts to my Morrowind Let's Play and need some feedback so i wonder if someone could or not? Thanks a bunch and sorry if you regard this as spamming!

"They gave me direction?!" - boy does that one bring back memories -thought it was just me not paying attention.
I find your play style akin to that of my own and I'm rather enjoying you exploring this wonderful game with an open mind... not to mention entertaining commentary.
That isn't a Cult Dude,That has way more followers than a Cult,it's a Whole Religion...even though a Cult "is" That too...you hopefully know what i mean
Think about it, if Caius has a messy house, and he works for the emperor, he obviously has some power and is abusing it by buying skooma and a "skooma pipe" as well as moon sugar (which works as cocaine).
"He's a self-admitted skooma and Moon Sugar addict -- that is, when someone who is not a Blade asks him. His underlings never mention a skooma problem, and the regular patrons of the South Wall Cornerclub have noticed that he holds his skooma better than even a Khajiit would."
It comes with his job as the Grand Spymaster of the Blades to keep his profession secret. The skooma addict thing is just a big sham to fool the whole town of Balmora into thinking he's just a bum.
gotta say i felt like he was rather off as far as his opinion on the whole text thing goes.
granted..at this point he hadn't really realized the scope of morrowind or how genuinely huge it feels in comparison to oblivion, but i mean obviously there's no way he coulda known about skooma and stuff in relation to cosades...but yeah it's typically people in the same vicinity have similar things to say on important quest topics so you don't miss it by asking the wrong person and just wandering off
funny thing is that the imperial cult does charity work(i actually did a charity quest line :D) and you immdeatly think theyre evil cause theyre a cult
@vseslav1 If you think the Elder Scrolls series has anything to do with running through the main quest as quickly as you can then you are not only missing out on 75% of the games but also just ruining it for yourself!
I for one greatly appreciate the fact that Gix is taking in the sights, lore and story.
I disagree with the annotation about Oblivion's levelling system. It was horrendous! Morrowind did it (mostly) right, if you ask me. I hope TES V doesn't level everything like Oblivion did.
I have to agree. The leveling system in Oblivion is the biggest flaw of the game. It takes away the whole point of leveling. I mean when I start seeing bandits with glass weapons I can't help but wonder why is that guy trying to make a living by robbing ordinary travellers. His gear by itself is more valuable than what he can steal in a year.
@Valbruch Thieves don't need to be poor to steal. Like any RPG, the point of levelling is to become more powerful... while fighting increasingly more powerful enemies. That holds true to Oblivion as well.
Yeah I agree with that. But I believe that you also need to see that you are actually getting more powereful, to know that you are becoming somebody - a hero - in the world. But what Oblivion does is that it simply takes the whole world and adjusts it to your new level. So when compared to the rest of the world, lvl 20 character is practically just as strong and dangerous as lvl 1 character used to be.
@gixG17 It works somewhat as far as monsters are concerned. Instead of Scamps you start seeing Xivilai so you do have the feeling that the Realm of Oblivion needs its best to match your hero. But when it comes to NPCs it fails. What's the point of leveling if Bandits or Highwaymen still present real danger to lvl 25 master of magic ? If there was a whole band then maybe but 1 on 1... It feels like I'm not going anywhere and I could just stay at lvl 1. No excitement there.
@gixG17 I hope Elder Scrolls 5 will be better in this. Oblivion is still a great game and this leveling system is the only serious issue I have with it. It didn't feel that bad in Fallouts though so I am quite hopeful that Bethesda now knows how to do it right.
I don't mean to argue or anything, both Elder Scrolls are amazing games. I just tried to explain my opinion about it ;-) btw you do a great job with the LP. Just today I went through 30 or so parts.
A lot of your problems with the game, like the text conversations and the fact the citizens do not go to bed at night, etc can all be fixed with mods.
lol he walk in and saw a naked oldman and rememebers being told that he have to do whatever caius cosades tells him so he was like "mmmm what if the package says I have to suck him or sex him? no way I ll say no let me read it first" then after reading it "oh okay its safe" lol
The Mages Guild is friends with the Thieves guild, so either guild gives you disposition to the other. Plus all the directions should be in your journal. Well it would be better if this game had a journal like Arena, where you could write in it.
I like your videos a lot, I've been watching all of them so far, very good let's plays. Not too much rambling like nintendocaprison, and not too less, where its more like a walkthrough.
The coins are referred to as Septims or Drakes, because on one side they have one of the Septims, Tiber Septim presumably, and on the other side they have the symbol of Akatosh.
ive played morrowind im completely in love with Bestheda RPG's (i never played Daggerfall or anything or Arena) though, im playing it through a second time at the moment with a Witch hunter meening his skills are a Conjurer , Marksman. Interesting combination and quite fun to play in Morrowind.
I've never played Oblivion, but just compared to old late 80's/early 90's Ultima games I used to play, I found the NPCs in Morrowind very disappointing. They're the weakest part of the game, and technology is not an excuse for it.
It's a great game overall though, the NPCs are the only major thing I don't like about it.
Morrowind to me is a lot different, I've played it for years, and now I mod it all the time, the way I notice a lot of modders judge games, modding-wise is how capable the engine is to be modded, here you mentioned the diolauge, in the vanilla game the diolauge is very generic, but the capabilities of modding it are amazing, full quality conversations with multiple choice strings are possible, it's possible to make an amazing persuasion system, the diolauge system is just amazing.
I love how they had drugs in morrowind like moon suger thats where sugar tooth comes from :D and moon sugar makes skooma the super easy to fin drugs in Vvardenfell
The reason why it's the "Imperial Cult" is because it is for the "Imperial" religion and not the dunmer one, which you are in morrowind so it would be called a cult in morrowind.
Yeah but the part I find weird is that it's an Imperial talking about an Imperial cult... A Blade no less.
If it was anybody else talking about the cult, I wouldn't find it so awkward. Unless they actually have a small group of religious people that doesn't follow The Nine but then it wouldn't necessarily be because they're in Morrowind.
@gixG17 it's sorta like a state-sanctioned religion. The empire wants as many of the native dunmer to convert to this religion. They're trying to target the dunmer, convert them, but they're meeting stiff resistance since dunmer are fiercely nationalistic. It's a cult because they want people to become hyper-involved in its workings and lose themselves in its religion. They're simply acknowledging the barefaced political expediency of it.
I have to agree with you about the text and dialog. Morrowind gets so much praise as being better than Oblivion and yet in my first few hours of playing the game, I was not impressed.
