  • You could have tried something a *little* easier... ie almost anything else!

  • esta re copado loco

  • Is that in standard tuning?

  • wow your guitar is totally worn... you must be an experienced guitar player... NOT!!!

  • Ha haaa! Pretty good! Thank you!

  • this is why fripp is a beast

  • Superbe!

  • this is pretty amazing :)

  • Really great playing! Long live King Crimson!

  • de donde sacaste la partitura o tablatura?

  • muy bien¡¡

  • Great job, that is a great song. It looks like most of it is using the whole tone scale.

  • Hard tune! Keep it up!

  • great job, its hard to play alot of Fripps stuff. Hes just the man!

  • La tocas muy bien!! Y me gusta tu guitarra como esta.

  • Falta velocidad, pero bastante bien.

    Pinta la guitarra !!!

  • es Fracture, buen tema para sacar.

    PD: cuide la guitarra.

  • Sonnheim.... your a dumb ass. you know how hard that is to play? you try it. i've been playing for 10-11 years and would consider myself technically proficient on the guitar, but i was moving slower than that when i tried. awesome job !!!! awesome song!!!! if only a progressive band would come out today sounding like CRIMSON!! AHHHHHHHHHH!

  • I'll post a vid of me playing it today. I can play it up to tempo with near perfect accuracy :)

  • Half as slow as the original. Speed it up!

  • @RFripp haha si, primero escucha bien a cancion

  • @RFripp Although the second was inspired by the first. :P

  • Is that Elephant Talk at the end, or Jerry was a Race Car Driver(Primus, I know).

  • good attempt... timing slows down in difficult passages try practicing with a metronome

  • That was great... Only Fripp plays it like... 5 times faster XD

    Very good however!

  • i'm sure this has already been hinted at; however, in 'Mel Bay' book language: you need to reverse your picking- start with the up-stroke, on the *first*note; and alternate picking from there on through the arpeggio section- cross picking, as mr. Fripp says -

    but up-down-up-down, not down-up-down-up...

(up would mean from the treble strings pick in the direction of the bass strings: simple 'Mel Bay' book vernacular)

  • cool to see this, i'm just getting into the whole tone scale.....clearly fripp was influenced by debussy and i didn't realize until lately what that scale is about. fracture is a great idea, but is there a version that is any better than amsterdam73? the central park74 is pretty nasty too.....must have been weird the first time they tried this piece.

  • i mean... you got the notes down almost. work on your picking

  • really nice...

  • An admirable attempt. Nice job.

  • Nice job, dude!

  • Luck bastard. Fripp really seen you? 5 stars just for that.

  • rock on dude rock on!

  • 18.27 This is an interesting contribution from RFripp...

... and very difficult to play with this right hand and/or this approach to picking: I recommend, firstly, that the alternate picking begin with a down (ie release) stroke, rather than an up; secondly, alternate picking, rather than the follow-through down picking in the arpeggiated section.

    from Robert Fripp.

  • Wow...fantastic job.

  • Did you know? ROBERT FRIPP HIMSELF commented on THIS video!!! I found it in his diaries on the MARCH 16 2007!!!!

YES HE DID!!! GO CHECK IT!

Dude, ROBERT FRIPP HAS SEEN YOU!!

  • w0000t OMG GOD HIMSELF WATCHED THE SAME VIDEO AS I'M WATCHING AT THE MOMENT!!!11 OMG omg OMG wtf

    :D

  • Yes! I couldn't believe it myself, but FRIPP himself watches Youtube!

  • IT's not a comment to this video, but to Mr Anthony Garone lesson concerning Fracture.

  • Oh well, you're right....but at least Mr Fripp was WATCHING this video!!!! o.O

  • you guys need to find a girl for sure. Fripp is not God. Big deal, so he watched a video. The video is pretty cool though.

  • of course, it still needs work. I've been working on this on and off since 1977 and STILL don't have it all down. The up-down-up-down picking comment below is valid

  • Hello! I'm a crimson fan too, and this song is my favorite. Once I spent a lot of time practicing it too, but didn't managed to make those arpeggios that well! Go for it!!

  • look, go to the the elephant talk website, I have a tab of fracture posted there. I may need to make a video. this guy is torturing himself for no reason.

  • I'm trying to learn this song right now, and it's really hard man. The hardest part is remembering to leave your pinky down when you're playing the first riff and letting the note sustain.

  • From 00:40 onwards is sonic awesomeness.

  • Yeah, that's the easy part

  • s'a nice strat. once the rest of the paint job wears off,it will look like rory gallagher's.

  • Riplas morging har you beating a beautiful artenousr for may princes is very nice you and me in the geto for trousand millones de segundos. exrerius

  • Is that Elephant Talk at the end, or Jerry was a Race Car Driver(Primus, I know).

  • Nice work. and Fripp is inhumanly fast when he really tries. I think i'll learn this song. you have inspired me (along with everyone else who commented) because it is apparently harder than it seems. wish me luck.

  • I'm impressed. Good work!

  • Good work fella. Its such a bitch to play but oh so much fun. Do you play the fisrt bit. The slow bit. I like that more probably cause I can play it better. Its great to see otheres doing it.

  • The slow parts are absolutely insane. They're pretty much impossible and are much harder than the fast parts (which, at the right speed, are frakking hard, as well). Seriously, Fripp's fingers are all over the place, playing the most perversely asymmetrical lines during those parts. Amazing.

  • once you get the hang of them they really feel beautiful to play. Especially if you feel the 4 pulse through them that the bass and the drums end up doing. I still recon the fast wholetone bit is heaps harder.

  • aha! i saw one wrong note!

    adelante!

  • Muy bien tocado. Que buena cancion.

  • Fracture... Being played... By someone who isn't Fripp?!??!?!?

HOW??!?! Actually, I can play it at a slower pace (like you) but when I try to speed it up to the actual 130-ish BPM, I lose it everytime...

  • Well... what can I say? It's Fracture and it's being played. Albeit with a few mistakes, but to merely attempt this is a feat in itself let alone pull it off to any degree of success, which I believe you do very well.

  • good! although it is meant to be played faster. i learned to play whole moto perpetuo two years ago at 120 bpm (without resting fingers of the right hand on guitar body!) after i found a transcription in guitar techniques magazine. that was a time when i practiced a lot so one day i hope to return to my guitar playing and try to play along fripp's part from USA live album :)

  • thanks agarone, fact is that if it wasn't for you I wouldn't of been playing it, I've saw your webpage and your doing a great job, lets see if you finish the song soon, see you!

  • Very cool! I wrote a guitar lesson about this song. It's awesome to see other people tackling this challenging work!
