@Scorpac I beg to differ. They ARE aiming, but they are simply aiming at the area where the clay is GOING to be, not at where the clay is when they pull the trigger.
@trenthouse4life thats true, but if you begin to "aim" you will not hit... its just a feeling you get the skill for it after sometime... im doing this sport since a year now and im pretty good at it, when i see the clay coming out i dont think. the rifle just follows and passes the clay.. then my finger pulls the trigger. if i would aim everythink would take to long
Christ! You're shooting clays with a RIFLE?!!? That's pretty incredible mate. I can't hit them unless I use a shotgun!
Seriously though, I understand what you mean about pushing through the target, I do the same myself (as opposed to keeping a continuous lead ahead of the target). BUT if you want to smash that clay, you've got to be pointing the gun ('aiming' it) at where it's going to be! Of course, on a target like a springing teal, that could be the same place, at the top of the flight.
@trenthouse4life in german rifle means "gewehr" and a "gewehr" can be a m-14,m16,k98,m1 and also a shotgun. but we germans call the shotgun which we shoot clays with "bockdoppelflinte" or "flinte" and that pretty much sucks to say :P so if i comment on english video's i just say "rifle"
@trenthouse4life I'm pretty sure he's using a shotgun, it looks like one. But what I would pay to see is a chap hitting clays with a bolt action sniper rifle. Haha
@pete5668 The difference is that you are not exactly 'covering-off' the target with the muzzle of the shotgun at the point of squeezing the trigger, as the target is moving rapidly through the air, so aiming directly at it would result in you missing the clay behind. However, the same principle would apply to a moving target with ANY kind of firearm (and I have shot 5.56mm rifles, 7.62mm MGs and 9mm pistols as well), i.e. you would aim, or 'point' if you like, at where the target is GOING to be
this place has an amazing range 7 stars!! :)

@trenthouse4life I heard somewhere that rifles are aimed and shotguns are pointed.
