Hey mate a tricky question...

It's either played on a real amiga with floppy disks or you play it on an amiga emulator on pc or whatever console, mac uses an amiga emulator....You can play it with the keyboard or the joystick....

And it's a multi-language version....You can choose the language in the beginning....

Oh wow, was hab ich früher immer dieses Spiel gezockt. Das war so klasse.

Besonders die Pferde. Die hab ich öfters grausamerweise in den Fluss oder Klippen runter stürzen lassen. (nya, war ja nur ein Spiel)

Die Züge konnte ich nie einnehmen, dafür aber ein gegnerische Fort.

Da kommen echt Erinnerungen hoch. Ich würde es gerne mal wieder spielen. 8)

Thanks so much for posting this. I've tried emulators and such but it's so good just to watch a nostalgic "movie" of old Commodore times. This game really got me into learning about the US civil war when I was a kid. So much so, I'm actually part of a civil war reinactmant group nowadays in the UK (they do exist over here!) At first I admit I thought you were playing it badly. But then I noticed how you seemed to have a deliberate pattern to it, specifically during the fort capturing parts. You seemed to deliberately want to fail and it occurred to me that you wanted to prolong the game. Then I read your description and I had a facepalm, of course you were.

I thought at first you were having a tough time of the fort part with it being so frantically fast. My version was also fast but not quite as fast.

Dude, great game but you're not very good at it. It's hard to capture a fort but it's doable. To capture a train is even harder (I think I only did it once) but you have to fight in the battles more efficient. The artillery is the key here. Eliminate the enemy cannon(s) with your artillery and your good to go. Just level up and then hold the fire button until 1 or 2 mm of the distance bar is still black and release fire. Viel Erfolg.

@JayvH very good advices. and fighting with horses is a laugh - just always attack from below, riding upwards = sure win. take the most eastern state in march to have ship in april, and so on and on. This game is very easy to win even against expert AI : ) Thx for posting vid anyway : )
