Our history teachers tell us that the government and economy developed through tobacco but I have never seen a single teacher nor textbook that says anything about hemp. Hell I've even seen talk about the Opium trade from the 1800's but nothing about hemp

If pot was legal, who would fill up all these private prisons? I wonder how many millions are made off the 1,000,000's in jail for only possession. Plus if everybody takes a naturally grown medicine how can Eli-Lilly and other billion dollar pharmaceutical companies sell us over priced medicine that kills so many every year.If we replaced cotton,(the crop that uses more pesticides than any other),with a plant that is 20x's more durable,would the chemical companies like Dupon't want this?
