No, they need water. You can just leave them in your tank. They aren't harmful. Or, if they are really bothering you, take the 5 out, and wash them down the drain or something. I know it sounds cruel, but that's what I do all the time. I hate snails.
Yeah, it probably came from the plant. I won't survive in the drain, but really, I could care less about snails. That's one animal that I really don't care for.
Sorry. I'm more cruel than you may think. But only to snails and Canadian geese. (Even though I don't really do anything to them - I just complain about geese, and occasionally wash a snail down the drain.) Otherwise I care about all other animals in this beautiful planet.
Cause... they are stupid, pointless animals that only poop and try to kill you. I seriously threw a rock at one once, not intending to hit it - just trying to scare it away - and it hit the goose. lol
I did feel bad, but only because a little 9 year old was watching me. It didn't hurt the goose at all. Those are strong little idiots. The can take some pretty hard blows.
Well of course i care about snails! I care for all animals, but I just dont know what to do with them, and that was the only options, their breeding like rabbits!
Nice Snail!
Is it true that if you have one snail in your tank, it will breed by itself and you will end up with loads?
hannahluvsanimals2 2 years ago
LOL Nope.
It just a myth.
They need a male and female to reproduce.
They aren't bort like some people say.
He used to have a brother but he died 2 days after I got him :(
Hes all one in my breeding tank now with 2 other pregnant guppies.
And I don;t want to put him into the 30 Gallon community because hes really small and my 6 apple snails are huge!

It depends on what type of snail it is. Some snails will, others won't. It's happened to me before.
stephster575 2 years ago
No.
Every snail needs a male to reproduce.
They can just store sperm like other fish.
Up to 6 months
TheAquaSpecialist 2 years ago
Hm. Because I had one Ramshorn snail, and all of a sudden, a week later, I had 5. lol
stephster575 2 years ago
yes,
They reproduce.
This is a myth about being male and female.
Also did you get any new plants?
Maybe they came from them.
TheAquaSpecialist 2 years ago
I got a plant, and one snail was on it. Then I had a ton of snails within a couple weeks. Oh well. I'm not gonna' argue. lol
I'm very tired and stressed out right now. =(
stephster575 2 years ago
Ohh Okay Thanks :)
Cos I started out with one snail, & now I have 5, what can i do with them, will they survive in the garden?

Well depends on what kind of snail it is?

TheAquaSpecialist 2 years ago

stephster575 2 years ago
Sorry nevermind
I am making no sense.
sorry im multi tasking so thats why :P
TheAquaSpecialist 2 years ago
Hmmm yeah i might just do that, yeah it does sound cruel, but you never know they might survive down there! =P
I think they came with a plant I bought lol.
hannahluvsanimals2 2 years ago
Well actually they won't.
Unless you live high up in the mountains with nice none polluted spring water.
Just take the snail or snails to your local fish store.
Leave it on the front step or door of the store then leave.
They will take in he snails and either keep them as pets to sell or feed them to bigger fish :(
Hope this helps!

What!
You dont care about snails!
Man that sucks.
I care about all living creatures.
I don't even kill flies or mosquitoes.
Hannah:
Dont get rid of the snail!
Just keep it in your tank.
They don't need any special attention unless you want to feed it.
Like cucumber.
