The whole Keaseby Nights album rerecorded by streetlight is shit, most of the horn fills are different. The drumming tone is lighter, and the guitar and bass work are sloppy just all around not a good album if you love Catch 22's Keaseby Nights. Bring back Catch 22!

Metal and hardcore was big in the 80s, then died, now its big again. Disco formed in the 70's, died, and revived in the 90's. Doo-wop in the 50's, died, then again in the 70's. Ska formed in the 50s, died, then 70s again, then died, then 90's. Im expecting a new wave in the 2010's.

Most of them play 2-3 instruments so for the recordings they tend to play multiple instruments so thats why I think its a horn it has that brassy air sound that trombones dont get.

Streetlight sounds more refined for those who like that sound, Catch 22 sounds more like an indie band for those who like that sound. I personally prefer Streetlight because i like the more refined sound as opposed to Catch 22 so it is not a matter of who is better because they are completely different levels of band.

well you can really only say that about the songs off of keasbey nights. after Tomas left to form streetligh, Catch 22's sound changed a ton, and over time Streetlight's sound has developed beyond what it was like on their version of keasbey nights, so they're really quite different from each other now.

catch 22 was the original band and then the singer broke off and wanted to remake all of catch's songs for their first album

the singer wrote all the music, he had rights to it and catch 22 was going to re release the exact same album but with different cover art and kalnoky said he'd actually re record the music, so the label went with streetlight

Tom Kalonky(spelling?) was the lead singer for Catch 22. He left that band and started Streetlight Manifesto, ater recording a couple of albums with Catch. Catch's remaining members planned on rereleasing their most successul album, Keasbey Nights, untouched. Tom would not allow this, and offered to rerecord the album with Streetlight, updating it and making changes, because he "always thought the orgininal sounded like pure garbage."
