  • The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, in my opinion one of the top 15 most influential artists of the 20th century.

  • Film is such a powerful tool for looking into the past.

And the past is a powerful tool for analyzing our present and future.

  • which Alice Russell song has took this music into her song? I can't remember

  • @SiegHeil2010

You low life piece of shit. Crawl back under the rock you came out from. Not only are you a fag racist, (most racists suck dick) but not being able to hear the magic of Aretha lets me know that you are sub human. Plus, its time you got over the fact that your mom ran off with the black garbage man because she figured he could care for her better than your low life dad.

  • @SiegHeil2010 your a very very uneducated sad and pathetic man, i hope hope one day you will understand how horrible your comment was

  • It's hurts so good to reminisce

  • @mareko4mvp Im 18 and majoring in jazz music but play a lot of soul and R&B. imagine how i feel growing up with a lot of the bullshit music being made today. It's all about that soul man!

  • Those of you that are criticizing the young kids for revealing their age should just stop. They are only letting you know that they can appreciate quality music even with all the crap that they get on the radio. Let them enjoy it and maybe it will inspire them to improve the music of today because remember they are our future.

  • wooh ARETHA!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I'm 4 years old and I love soul music! I lived during the soul era and it actually wasn't that great because nobody shaved their pubes so I'm glad I was reincarnated in the 21st century.

  • why is everyone saying how old they are?

  • @robk90 Because we want to let the world know that even though we are young, some of us have good taste in music.

  • @devilmirror1 ..... Nothing wrong with that. It's great to know that your generation can appreciate quality music. Keep enjoying clean good music-

  • The Rascals version is good, but Aretha put soul in it like nobody else could. Mercy.

  • This song makes me want to fall in love with my 3rd Grade p.e.teacher all over again. Ms babs. You said I was your favorite wawawaaaa :.-(

  • from sun up to sun down.

  • Smooth...

  • No one 'grooves/; like Aretha!! Truly the Queen of Soul, long live the Queen!! Sublime!!

  • Good, Music remind me of childhood Mustard/Collard Greens cornbread and barbeque.

  • lmao! Yessir...

  • I never heard this rendition before by Aretha , I heard Marvin gayes version of Yesterday and got hooked , listened to the comments and its just soul that makes the difference.

  • She put that Sam Cooke in there too!!!

  • I know, right? At first, I didn't recognized it because I was not fully familiar with all of his work. But then after listening to him more extensively, I noticed her saying "Oooh, baby you send me, you send me groovin" :)

  • sang the song Aretha!!

  • I sampled this song, it came out so tight....

  • post a link, man

  • Aretha is the talent that comes once every million year. I dare say.

  • beautiful music, great era, makes me feel like i've been blessed just to hear this.

  • how do you get rid of all the shit searches on limewire that say starburst ad and shit?

  • Beautiful!!

  • Damn, that is music right there, ladys & germs....

  • We all are blessed to have been young adults at the time Aretha sang her heart out for us...

Ain't problem the tape skips... after so many years we skip as well... ha

  • OH ARETHA...I LOVE YOU, GIRL.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! To the one and only Queen in American music. The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. She is 67 today. By the way it was 1967 that she recorded her ultra hit R E S P E C T.

  • Feliz Cumpleaños a Aretha Franklin

    Diosa eterna

    TE AMAMOS

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARETHA xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • This is studio tape!!!!! You Incredibly lucky Ba_t__d!!! I can not believe some idiot left this on the cutting room floor!!!!

  • voz de película!!!!!!

  • Listening to this song takes me back to my childhood in the 1960's. My sisters use to play her records all day on Saturdays (especially "Groovin"). I love the soulful way she sings this version. Absolutely wonderful. No one can do it like Aretha

  • one of my favorite covers by the Queen. She seems so cool on this song. My Lady Soul cd plays this one very often...

  • The Queen early on in her illustrious career!!!! A star was born and now shes the the most talented musician singer songwriter of her generation. Long live Reath for what she has given us!!!

  • love that vooice

  • i don't know why but aretha sings makes me happy

  • WTF are you talking about? This song is awesome because of her soulful interpretation. Aretha can sing different types of music from gospel to pop to rock & roll. For f**k sake, she even tried opera and hip hop. I think you should leave the Queen alone and go back to Eminem craps or something of that sort.

  • There were far and few repeats during the 1960's and 1970's.

  • she makes it look so easy!! now, that's talent!

  • Don't feed the troll. He's clearly an idiot with no knowledge of music----even at the most elementary level.

  • No you are troll because you don't know what real music sounds like.

  • 好きじゃないなら書き込まなきゃいいのに。

    いくら言ってもArethaは素晴らしいし、

    彼女のことを好きな人の心までは変えられないよ。

  • Are you kidding me. How are you going to say Aretha has a problem with her low note when Patti low register sucks. This performance is gold. Aretha could sing anything.

  • you hit the nail on the head with that comment except for the part about Patti... now dont nobody talk about Patti LMAO...

  • the joss stone song is called super duper love

  • Dude, you stole the words right outta my mouth! She totally did, but I think it was not Joss, but her crew put it together for her - Diggin on Me is exactly the same.

  • Did Joss Stone do a song a lot like this?

I think Joss must have stole this song but recorded different vocals over it or something. Aretha is the Queen of Soul and an inspiration.

  • Ecstacy!!

  • So wonderfullllllll

  • Ohhhhhhhh Aretha thankyou so much

  • What a classic performance. I never heard her do this song. Just LOVE the soulful arrangement. Thanks for posting it.

  • YAPP damn right!!!

  • Just groovy! Aretha is simply out of this world.

  • I love the Rascals version too, but I love this one even more. To each to his own preferences. They were two great versions of the same song.

  • Marvin gaye also did an AWESOME version. I love his version he best

  • YEAH!!! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!

  • im only 16 n im inlove with her great and amazing voice! PERFECT AND SO CLEAR VOICE! LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART!

  • me too

  • LOL... me three! Wasnt even born then, but WE obviously know good music when we hear it! Aretha will be talked about for many, many centuries after this one! Our great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will be talking about her! FOR REALS! :) :)

  • Awesome. I'll have to make that one of the next discs I buy.

  • She covered The Rascals! What album is her version on?

  • joss stone sings the same song but with "yeahhh... are you thinkin of me?" doesn't it?

  • CamiloDz don't desecrate this site by mentioning that name in connection to the Queen.

  • ...wow...that is all I have to say...just a beautiful song really, you fellas are darn right shes the queen!

  • Groovin every time I hear the queens voice, love yah always will...wow wow wow

  • ¡¡¡ GOD SAVE THE QUEEN !!!

  • This song was written by the Young Rascal guys.

It took me two seconds to confirm that via Google.

It would be nice if people did the same before they give out 'facts'.

  • True enough: the Rascals wrote the song, and released it in April, 1967. Aretha covered it on her "Lady Soul" album, released in January, 1968.

  • the young rascals had a hit with this song?? did they pay Ms Aretha Royalties? LOL

  • This is Sexy but in that classy way! She is indeed The Queen.

  • I really love this version..

this song also singing by smokey robinson???!

    make old dreams come true

    thank ya very very much:-)

  • Great/ song, some time ago in late 60's-70's A Group called 'The Young Rascals' had a Massive Hit With this Song, over 6 weeks at number 1. Did'nt realise that it was Aretha's song /guess thats y they faded away.

  • Really nice version, thanx for posting!

  • great track tony

  • She's so good that even the tape skip in the middle is in time.. Hah!

  • You got it wrong. She's so good that even the time skipped in the middle of the video. Her voice could creat time portal. LOL

  • I always forget to say this....Thank Arethafan....What a contribution...Do you know how I might find this to purchase it?

  • Your majesty, if I may this is simply lovely....nice and smooth.

  • I don't believe it gets any better.

  • It only gets better when you see her live - I can only wish

  • The QUEEN!

  • Aretha, the background singers, the band

    SIMPLY THE BEST!!

  • yeah aretha is queen

  • Greatness

  • Clean, clean version. What vocals! Aretha rocks and rules.

  • I love Aretha!!!

  • In deed a classic LP "Lady Soul"

  • sound quality is exceptional! espacily for the time its recorded! Amazing voice!

  • aretha's the bomb, of course, but that band is straight rocking, and those background singers are on point.

  • OMGoodness....where did you get this one from, Arethafan??!!! this is just awesome!!! I love watcing old clips of Aretha; when i was a little girl in the 60s i thought that she was just like the only singer touched by God. Thanks for this clip.

  • It don't come much better than this! Aretha, you'll always be part of my soul!

  • AT HER BEST!!!!

  • A rare gem...amazing this recording exists before we had VCR's and tivo..and the sound quality is suprisingly excellent...Vintage '60's and '70's Aretha is so beautiful...her tone and interpretation was so pure back then, Has anyone else noticed that her voice is deeper now? Maybe it's the years of smoking...Back then she could really send chills up your spine witnessing the wonder of her unique raw God-sent talent...

  • This footage of the 60s shows off her talent while her voice was in its prime but her great vocal dayz are long gone. In these oldschool clips we can hear her at best.

  • 'Evolved'? yeah right! You're to 'above' to feel aretha at her best, even though it's over forty years old? How can anyone 'grow out' of Aretha?....lol

  • what have you regressed to that stunts your ability to enjoy great music?

  • awesome aretha!

  • Wow!! Aretha could've had a hit with this.

  • Listening to her sing this does more then groove me like sam cooke it sends me.

  • Man, it's lye down, goosebumpy good. Perfection, heavenly.

  • how could your day not improve with a little Aretha soothing your soul. Allison

  • Bravo ! *****+ . Thanks for posting .

  • tks very much for this old vidéo ! i love it and now it's rare to see or ear this song !
