Plus, its time you got over the fact that your mom ran off with the black garbage man because she figured he could care for her better than your low life dad.
@mareko4mvp Im 18 and majoring in jazz music but play a lot of soul and R&B. imagine how i feel growing up with a lot of the bullshit music being made today. It's all about that soul man!

@JanickaRybicka I'm 27 and I agree! I listen to Aretha and other oldies more than anything else! I can't even stand the crap on the radio these days! haha
I never heard this rendition before by Aretha , I heard Marvin gayes version of Yesterday and got hooked , listened to the comments and its just soul that makes the difference.
I know, right? At first, I didn't recognized it because I was not fully familiar with all of his work. But then after listening to him more extensively, I noticed her saying "Oooh, baby you send me, you send me groovin" :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! To the one and only Queen in American music. The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. She is 67 today. By the way it was 1967 that she recorded her ultra hit R E S P E C T.
Listening to this song takes me back to my childhood in the 1960's. My sisters use to play her records all day on Saturdays (especially "Groovin"). I love the soulful way she sings this version. Absolutely wonderful. No one can do it like Aretha
The Queen early on in her illustrious career!!!! A star was born and now shes the the most talented musician singer songwriter of her generation. Long live Reath for what she has given us!!!

I just don't think Ree chose the right song. She isn't that versitile of a singer; this was not for her. I'm not knocking her, I just think she should have left this song alone. And for the record, I acknowledge Ree's talent, and I guess I should leave it at that.
WTF are you talking about? This song is awesome because of her soulful interpretation. Aretha can sing different types of music from gospel to pop to rock & roll. For f**k sake, she even tried opera and hip hop. I think you should leave the Queen alone and go back to Eminem craps or something of that sort.
Are you kidding me. How are you going to say Aretha has a problem with her low note when Patti low register sucks. This performance is gold. Aretha could sing anything.
Dude, you stole the words right outta my mouth! She totally did, but I think it was not Joss, but her crew put it together for her - Diggin on Me is exactly the same.
